If you are an omnivore (you eat everything) youll have options. Vegetarian- youll have GOOD tasting options. Vegan- you may have to specify a variation (i.e. no cheese). These people are good, hard working, busy, kind people who want to give you a positive experience. The experience in the cantina is different than the experience in the restaurant because, lets face it, its bar vs. restaurant. More service than most general bars though. And a self serve, endless chips and salsa bar. For any reasonable person, this would be considered. Reviews are different if the person does not understand the bar vs the restaurant sections. If you dont understand what that means, then try both! Explore the menu! Dont stick to typical combo options- there is really something for everyone and stretching into some exploration has a lot of potential for a favorite meal and/or great experience in this place. You can bring your family, or you can bring your best buds. You can come by yourself and be perfectly satisfied! Sports very available in the cantina. Tranquil booths in cantina and restaurant side. Either way, you dont have to be a drinker, or you can love your beers/cocktails ( responsibly, of course). Give it a try. They know family. They know friends, they know solo, they know business. Youre in good hands.

Just moved to Salem and I was hopeful that I would find some good mexican food here. The enchiladas werent bad but thats about the only good thing I can say. The salsa tasted like it came from a jar and the tamales were pretty much inedible. The beans and rice were both pretty plain, lacking any real taste. The worse part of the meal was dessert. We ordered the flan, cheesecake chimichanga, fried ice cream and sopapillas to share. The cheesecake chimis and sopapillas were ok but the flan was covered in a sauce that was probably 45% or more alcohol. I commented to the waitress that the flan was terribloe and shoud contain a warning about the alcohol content so people dont serve it to their kids... She stated that some people like it, but she never eats the food so she didnt have an opinion. I will not go back to this restaurant and I wouldnt recommend it to anyone who is thinking of eating there.

My Husband & I thought we would give it one my try and was discussed beyond compare. The bartender was either blowing his nose or wiping his face down with a bar napkin and then putting his hand inside of the customer glasses to get the glasses out of the rank to make a drink and NOT once did he EVER wash his hands. Just think about it...He touches your glass and then the server touches the glass and then she gives it to you. 3 people sick in a matter of seconds. The management needs to retrain the employees on hand washing. I am amazed that this place is not a hot bed for infections. We will NEVER go there again and will tell ALL our friends how disgusting this employee acted.

Ok listen, you have to go to this joint with the right state of mind or you might be disappointed. This is not the place to go if you are looking for fine cuisine. However, if you are out with some friends or family and are in a happy mood and want a drink or two then this is a great place to have a laid back good time. After a nice beverage the food will seem satisfactory and you wont have your pants pulled down over the price. Do yourself a big favor and order a long island iced tea "top shelf" and you wont be disappointed and definitely get one or two for a cranky wife.

This place used to be good. Im not sure what happened, but now their food is low quality. I got food poisoning after eating a enchiladas containing ground beef. I knew it tasted strange and could not finish eating it. It was a waste of money. I went there again for a familys birthday dinner and my uncle got food poisoning after eating a sizzling mixed meat dish. The overall atmosphere is nice and their prices are decent (if only their food was of high quality). Employees need to learn to wash their hands and maintain a clean cooking, prep, and storage space.

Best coffee in Salem(Yep, the best cup of joe you can find in Salem is found at a Mexican restaurant). Best pork papusas Ive ever had. Their mole isnt my favorite mole, mostly because the Mexican restaurant across the street serves the best mole in Salem. Service is always fantastic as well. Everything else is at least above average in a city filled with Mexican restaurants. So I definitely love it. The only better Mexican food is at La Espiga in Jefferson, OR.

The best Arroz con Pollo Ive ever had!!!So good in fact, that its unfair to other restaurants. To quote Johnny Depp in Once upon a Time in Mexico, "The dish is so good, the chef should be shot to create balance and fairness!" But, seriously dont shoot the chef, I want more!! Also great people/staff!!!

Went for lunch with my mother and brother, as well as my Aunt and cousin visiting from the east coast. The food was delicious as always, the service was both friendly and polite. A definite favorite in our family.

Great food and atmosphere. The food is great and the staff is friendly and accommodating. There was some mix up with a reserved space, but was quickly remedied by the manager.

Its pretty good if you dont like food or service. Enchiladas with mole. Watery salsa. Shiney refried beans. Prices were ultra low, however. Service was cafeteriaesque.

Long wait for food. Chili rellano was delicious. Flaming fajitas flavored with Jose Cuervo and flamed with 151. Strong alcohol flavor. Flan flavored with wine.
