The location is attractive - lots of seating and the typical Mexican-themed decorations you find in this sort of family-style dining establishment. The menu has lots of choices, maybe even 10 pages worth, including appetizers, nachos, combination dishes, house specials and a number of vegetarian choices. We visited for dinner, but there are also about 35 different lunch specials that range from $5.95 to $7.95. Most dinner items are $9.95 to $13.95. I ordered a two-item combination plate, selecting a tamale and a chimichanga. My wife chose the Enchiladas Fajita plate. Strangely, while the menu says the meat choices are chicken, shredded beef, pork or chunks of beef, when I tried to order a pork chimichanga I was told I could only have shredded beef or chicken (I picked shredded beef). When I wanted a chicken tamale: "you can have pork or beef." (I went with pork) and then learned pork is $1 more (where I shop, pork is usually cheaper than beef!) Why you cant have any item with any of those meats is a mystery. No limitation on my wifes enchiladas- she wanted chicken and received it. Another option with the meals is a choice of refried pinto beans or black beans, but our server failed to ask us which we preferred. When we later asked him about this, he said that the meal comes with pinto beans. When we pressed further asking "isnt black beans an option too" he did say "yes" although he said the plates were almost ready and already had pinto beans on them - but he offered to go ahead and give us a side of black beans, which he did at no extra charge. Prior to receiving our meals, we snacked on the complementary chips and salsa - the chips were "below average," a little over cooked. The salsa was better than average, among the "nippier" salsas weve been served in local restaurants. The chips also come with a small plate of pico de gallo and bean dip, which were both pretty bland. As for our main courses, the food was well-prepared and tasty - the portions very generous. We both thought we were extra hungry, but neither of us made it more than halfway through our meals. Great flavors. One big negative: the seating features those booths where the back of your booth is also the back of the booth behind you - and anytime the person seated behind me moved at all, I felt like I was being thrown halfway into my table. It was as though the seating was "spring-loaded!" My wife had the same comment. In short, the seating sort of ruins the experience. And frankly, the more humble taquerias with the $7 entrees that you order at the counter are really more my speed. But if you can be seated at a table ( not a booth) and youre okay with spending about $12 per meal, youll probably enjoy La Hacienda Real.

My boyfriend and I visit this restaurant very often. Im a Mexican-food-a-haulic and they have an awesome variety of dishes. Portions are pretty big but the prices are so affordable so you can expect some left overs for later. Still good quality though! The service is fantastic: the wait staff is informing, patient, sweet, they smile, and always checking on our table and refilling our drinks. The decor is so fun and colourful and not cheap at all which is hard to find in most Mexican food restaurants Ive been to. The only reason I give them four stars is because they seem to clean up and vacuum directly next to our table during lunch or dinner times. Ive never been to any kind of restaurant where the staff would so abruptly and loudly clean the whole restaurant with customers there. Its distracting and I cant hear or talk to my boyfriend.

Food is great, portions are very generous. Sometimes the service can be a little slow, but the place is always packed. Have a little patience, the food is worth it. Love the homemade tortillas. The chips are always hot and fresh, and I really enjoy the pickled cabbage that comes with the refried beans that you get with the chips. Always ask for more when the first basket of chips arrive, youll want it. If you need anything, dont wait for your server to come, any one of the staff that walks by is happy to get it for you. The shift manager walks through frequently asking how everything is going, kindly tell him or her the truth, and if youre not happy with anything he will fix it. Once I told him that that my order was more spicy than what I expected , he invited me to pick something else, and it came very quickly.

The food is great but the service is severely lacking... Me and my wife have waited over 5 min with our drinks empty glasses sitting at the edege of the table while 6 employees walked by. I have made eye contact with multible employes trying to get a refill on H2O and my drink. My wife finally decided to go to the bar and get refills. This was after we waited for our order to even be taken. We sat our menus down, we then moved them to the edge of the table. Very hard to get anyones attention.

Good food and service. Have had some issues with ordering though. Wrong items or forgotten sides like sour cream or guacamole. They need to keep the tortillas coming and the the drinks refilled. Otherwise, its a good place for Mexican food. UPDATED: It seems they have improved on order accuracy, so I am updating appropriately. Keep up the good work Taco Bell!

Its an OK Mexican food place. Some think its great food, I dont know, too many kids for my being happy with it so we dont go very often. Focus on the food, maybe a few more beers would deaden the roars and screaming of the kids; maybe bring ear plugs? Awful wild kids ruined an otherwise good time.

Im disgusted with the owner of this place, he treats his employees like crap. I mean like slaves and never pays them on time and his paychecks dont have funds. Please be aware of places like this. Food and service is good. I will not support business like this, no one should.

This is one of the best Mexican food restaurants in the area. The service is fast and friendly. The food is delicious. They serve beans and cabbage as well as salsa with the chips before your meal (one of my favorite parts). I would highly recommend this establishment.

Have tried lots of mexican restraunts, this one has the best best good and more comfortable atmosphere. Unless your put in the back room that was added. You then feel forgotten. BUT THE FOOD, GREAT!!! Will always be back.

Great authentic Mexican food. Free salsa, bean dip, and chips. Fair prices with portions big enough to take home leftovers. Get something off the menu that includes their homemade tortillas, you wont be disappointed.
