Honestly, we have lived in Forest Grove for 2 years now. All our friends recommended other places around town. Luckily, we ignored them and tried the Mandarin China Restaurant. Danny is the waiter, I mean, THE waiter. But he is more than that, he is an ambasadore to the food at the Mandarin. He will help you get the best and not order too much. Mary is his mom, she and Dannys dad have owned this place for 21 years. They have raised their children in Forest Grove, and it shows. There is a real family atmosphere when you dine in, all the folks you are eating with are there for the same reason, the food and the service and the atmosphere are outstanding, and all for a reasonable price. Special tip: they dont over bread any of their foods, it makes for a more healthy food, and is great for any diabetics you know. Theyll even make sweetner substitutions if you ask. Enjoy

We waited for 45 minutes before any food came, and that was just for an appetizer, got our entrees a good half an hour later. One of us ordered cashew chicken, and the other a combo with cashew chicken and fried rice, however both cashew chickens had no cashews in them. Had to double check the menu to make sure it was not "in cashew sauce," but confirmed cashews were advertised. I am aware that it was busy on a Friday night, and the single server was working as hard as he could, but we were never asked if we needed anything or if we were happy. After reading all of the great reviews I was very disappointed in the dining experience and food quality.

Their Potstickers and Hot and sour soup are hearty and homemade daily. They can be a meal alone. Food tastes very fresh and is served piping hot. Orders to go are packaged great and generous. They serve both spicy and the traditional US style Chinese food. Their house noodles (soft) are great and a great value! If you have to feed a large group they their son is great help in determining a good mix and quantity. He has never steered me wrong! It is not PF Changs...but again, they would be waaaay more expensive.

This restaurant was out of one of the items on the dish that I ordered. they wouldnt just substitute anything, they asked me to choose from appetizers, the choice was very limited. The spring rolls were all cabbage with a very sm bit of shrimp. Any of the fried foods tasted bitter, like the oil was old, and everything was over cooked. There was too much breading on on the deep fried items. The fried shrimp that my husband ordered was cooked until like rubber. We do not plan on going back to this restaurant to eat.

Ive been here several times over the years, the food is great, service is great and its been a staple of forest grove for quite a while. If good food and service take priority over everything with you, this is your place. Prices are very fair too. Theyre pretty fast here too, even during a rush. Check it out. Decor is OK, and the place is clean inside but doesnt even look like a Chinese restaurant really. But who cares? The food is awesome and the family running this are all incredibly friendly.

Best Chinese food Ive had in the area! If you live nearby DO NOT MISS IT! Had crab won tons, crisp and not greasy. House made soups. Amazingly tender beef entrees. Reasonably priced at about $10/entree. I heard many regulars coming in for take out whilst dining. Hospitable, if busy staff. Local, family owned. Ive been there twice, and this will be my go to place for Chinese now that I live in Hillsboro. I tried everything at my table and loved it all.

I am bummed it took us a year to find this place! Now every time someone comes out to Forest Grove to visit us we take them here! Did I mention we go at least twice a month! I have yet to try sometime I didnt like on their menu. The meat has no fat, the sauce is perfectly sweetened/spiced. The service is great! It is a family owned and ran business and it shows. You must must must try Mandarin China! The sesame beef will keep you coming back for more!

Whenever my grandfather comes to town, this is the place we go to first whether its the while family or just us, we LOVE coming here. it has the best Chinese good ever, and Danny, their server, is so friendly and good at his job. I always love having conversations with him, and he is just so good with people.

Really really good Chinese food. Not greasy like most others, highly recommend the crab puff appetizers. Somewhat small seating area, but not cramped, friendly staff and great Chinese food! If youre craving high quality, inexpensive Chinese, youve found your place, will be returning often!

Ive loved this place since I was a kid and moved to this neighborhood. Still love it as an adult, always look forward to going there. The staff knows me (and has been the same staff, all in the family, since I was a child!) and knows my favorites, and they always do a good job.

try the bbq pork fried rice, chicken low/chow mein, bbq pork subgum or the deliciousness that is the sweet & sour sauce. you wont be disappointed. the owner is super friendly & doesnt flinch in the face of my rabid no onions credo.

This really is the best Chinese food in the Portland Metro area. The service is always friendly and although you may have to wait a little longer than normal for your food, it is totally worth it for the authentic taste.

Been going with family for quite a while. Great food. Great service. be sure to try all you can on the menu because there are some hidden gems. P.S. Get the Yu Shing Eggplant. One of the best items on the menu.

Tasty, big portions, hot and very fresh. They give you about a gallon of their yummy egg flower soup in an order and have good vegetarian options. And the staff was super, super cool to me. I will be back.

Enjoyed a great Saturday lunch for $7.95; really loved the crab puffs that came with it. Friendly service. With a colleague, and we were the only ones there. Apparently its busier in the evening.

I have no idea why this place has good reviews. Worst Chinese ever! ( I love Chinese cuisine). The fried rice was undercooked and had an overdose of eggs.
