My car broke down a few miles outside of Banks and I had it towed to a mechanic right around the corner from this place. Okay, cars broken, got about an hour to kill... yeah I deserve some food. Enter Tacos La Estrella. I just finished what may have been the best carnitas burrito of my life. This seems to be a family operation and its super authentic food. Theres nothing fancy about the location just yet but it looks like theyre remodeling and expanding into the unit next store. The dude who helped me at the counter was awesome and helpful, the food came out quickly, and everything that could be right about it was. Like, so good that I expect Ill come back by any time Im in Forest Grove. TL;DR: Go here and eat this food. Now.

Must admit place looks like you might instantly get a food borne illness as soon as you walk in. But once you order and receive you food which is priced reasonably well, you will be blown away. Always served piping hot and packed with flavor. I have a large family so i believe ive tried about a little of every item in their menu over time and never disappointed. Either were any of the 7 others of my picky family. Call in is very convenient and no matter how large always been told and ready in 20 min. Their house green sauce is best ive never tasted any other quite this good ever, just wouldnt tells moms or the wife that. So if you can get past the exterior defiantly a good place to get great Mexican food.

Like other users, I too miss their Shooting Estrella (it was mobile cmon) for some al fresco dining, and lunching, too. Like the tacos and burritos, but dude, their torta Cubana rocks! I customize mine a little bit, but when Friday comes around, my 6yo knows is "turtle time" for dad. But stop anytime theyre open, foods awesome. Best,

This little hole in the wall mexican place is the best in town! Im a huge fan of their carne asada tacos and would recommend it to anyone who loves taco trucks. This place beats any other taco truck Ive ever had. The burritos and other entrees I have yet to try, so thats why I gave it 4 stars, but the tacos here are 5 stars to me.

My fish tacos were more like lettuce tacos, thin pieces of "fish" I could only taste the breadcrumbs. Not worth the price. Long wait! Super warm in the summer. Asked for a cup with ice chips, only got like 7 pieces. Dont recommend this if youre looking for fast Mexican food. Just go to Ochoas in Hillsboro. They have AC!

Awesome authentic mexican right down the street from us next to the plaid on 19th and elm. Doesnt look like much from outside but fantastic food. Seems very authentic and low prices for the amount and quality of food. I recommend you go there. Very friendly. We usually go here after churchon sundays. :o)

I have been to damn near every taqueria in the Forest Grove/Cornelius/Hillsboro area, and the tacos at La Estrella are some of the best around. Yes, the place could use another staff member most days, but dont let that steer you away from some real quality food at very fair prices.

The real deal. Best street tacos in the Portland metro! Sopes, burritos, tortas, everything else you expect from a taquería. Futbol en español going on the one tv while you wait. Mexican Coke, Jarritos, Sangria, all that good stuff. Legit.

I ordered 6 taco and two burritos. Both were EXCELLENT. Wait time was only 15 minutes and they were slightly busy. Beware the salsa marked hot. It was so hot in burned going in and out!

Great food. The flavors are awesome and quantity perfect. Good prices (about $8 for a burrito plate). Tables are never wiped off and thumbs down on the Styrofoam.
