The only reason this received two stars instead of one is that I can see its large seating area being useful for students or business meetings. Previous reviewers say this is the best coffee in Portland?! Seriously? You just walked past Barista to get here. The coffee is mediocre at best and over-roasted. When I first walked in to order, I was ignored for a few minutes despite the fact that I could see two employees and was standing in front of the cash register trying to make eye contact (there were no other customers waiting). The woman who served me, however, was perfectly pleasant and helpful once she got to me. My biggest warning: this is an overtly CHRISTIAN coffee shop. Their entire library is stocked with Christian books and theres a Bible verse printed on their cups. Look, I have no problem with JC and am a staunch defender of freedom of religion. But I dont want JC in my coffee shop. It turned my stomach enough that I left and dumped my coffee, which, as I said, wasnt good anyway. I saw one other woman visibly uncomfortable with the book selection in the "library"; she left before I did. Dont let the faux ski-lodge decor and bland, canned music lull you into feeling comfortable--there is much better, religion-free coffee only a few doors away.

I bought my own cup so my coffee was self serve. They actually have decaf on tap. For bringing my own cup my coffee is a dollar for first and fifty cents for refills. I put some money on tap, like buying a gift card so I dont have to pay every time I visit. The decor is very homey. I would liken it to a ranchhouse decore. People there are friendly. I get the feeling that there is a community of regulars who visit. I have noticed several students there doing home work. Wi-Fi is free and very fast. I highly recommend it.

I completely agree with others that this is my favorite coffee place in downtown Portland. The coffee is a little weak, but has good flavor. Its the ambiance and setting that makes this place so special. Its a very rustic feel with plenty of seating, especially if you look up. Hidden upstairs is a great balcony set to look like a library...if youre a people watcher, youll love this place. Give it a try, its a relaxing place to have a coffee or get some work done with their free, fast wifi.

Cool coffee shop. Upstairs seating is neat. Decor is warm and inviting. Baristas were just ok. House Coffee selections were watery. Not very good. The mixed berry scone was quite tart with a hint of sweet. More like the consistency of a biscuit. Not as dense. Almond croissant was good. Overall this place is okay, but after having Stumptown Coffee, this place is just passable. Good if youre in the area, but not to go out of your way.

Nice enough staff and the coffee is ok (better if you get pour over) but its definitely not the best coffee when theres about a billion better roasters in the area... The atmosphere is VERY Starbucks, where theyre trying to sell you gift packs and swag more than the coffee. Maybe it is one of those fake "neighborhood" cafes that you hear Starbucks actually owns to try to confuse you... seems that way...

Located right across the street from where I live this is my default coffee joint. The staff in extremely friendly and the space is cozy, especially during the winter. My only criticism is that sometimes their whole beans for sale are not of the freshest. I like to buy whole beans within a day or two max of being roasted. Otherwise, just a chill coffee house with nice people in the Pearl.

The biggest coffeehouse Ive ever seen. With a Starbucks-size menu, any one review couldnt touch the extent, but the coffees good, espresso nice, and cappuccino alright. What I can really report is their location is nice (very close to the streetcar), and the place itself is perfect for an extended stay. Its very work-oriented, though there are a few odd padded chairs and sofa.

Sisters occupies an airy space on the first floor and a small upper loft area. There is a good mix of seating (including the comfy sofa), and yet it manages to feel modern due to the size and decor. They offer plenty of dairy alternatives, including hemp milk. There is also a nice selection of pastries in the case at the counter. Overall a solid choice in the Pearl.

Sisters has some of the best coffee in Portland. I always get an Americano here because I really like their espresso and unlike some places in Portland they dont try to kill me with the temperature of their water. Sometimes this location is really, really packed. I really wish I could find a seat more easily, but hey, its great that they are so popular.

While I love their Black Butte Roast, the comfort level of the chair/tables had me migrating to a new spot for my Saturday morning coffee + laptop times. The people are friendly but I do wish they at least remembered my face after how many times I went in. The coffee is amazing, though, and if Im feeling a place where I know itll be good Ill head here.

The coffee here is delicious (love the Black Butte Gold dark roast), and as a bonus its the most affordable coffee Ive had in Portland. The space is incredible and the tables are rarely full. The staff has always been very warm and friendly, even when I just buy coffee and refills and stay for hours. Love it. Service has always been great for me.

Not my first choice among NW coffee shops, but still a good one. Ill come here to sit in the comfy chairs to read, but its not the most laptop-friendly space. Ive never ordered anything outside of a bagel, but they arent the best. Having a kitchen but giving people a tube of cream cheese for their bagel is a little odd, but Im also finicky.

Cozy coffee shop with a great atmosphere! Love the comfortable seating (check out the upstairs for a more secluded feel or downstairs in you want the hustle and bustle). The coffee is delicious and they have some nice treats to snack on too. You can also buy their beans here. A nice place to get work done!

Omg try the breakfast bar with blueberries and chocolate chips. It is sweet dense, whole and is most likely what sweet dreams are made of...I mean sweet Jesus, it great. They need a bottomless coffee or at least 1x refill option. Great for a meeting among friends or colleagues.

This place is exactly what you would expect, and in Portland thats a little disappointing. The hot drinks are fine, the atmosphere is conducive to chatting or studying (high ceilings make both workable) but its not the sort of place I would choose to go out of my way for.

One of my favorite coffee places in the Pearl! All of their pastries, and breakfast sandwiches are so good. My go to is a coconut milk latte. Its awesome every time. They also have large tables for sharing, and working. Neat atmosphere and friendly people.

This place rocks. Whenever we head to Bend/Sisters we ALWAYS stopped by Sisters Coffee company and are always bummed when the goods we brought back home are gone. Now its here in Portland! Way better than ANY of the other coffees you can get around here!
