Old review: (5 stars) The old coffee place here before 5 points was great, the atmosphere was great and they had catering! I recommended their breakfast burritos. New Review: Understand that this is not a bad review due to change. I have stopped in 3 separate occasions and each time my displeasure was the same. This Five Points Coffee, has slow service and terrible burritos that are microwaved in front of you. Toaster ovens create a more "fresh made" taste. I did not enjoy the baked goods either. Which is why, the old owner of Angelfire said the new owner bought out his location was to make baked goods for all of his stores. If that is the case, maybe try new recipes after surveying longtime patrons of the other locations. I am very displeased with the service from each visit. I know the old place is no longer there because the owner wasnt making enough profit from 1 store and didnt want to manage more than 1 store. Plus the location wasnt ideal for a start up coffee shop. Not to thwart entrepreneurship as the owner of the store commented on another users review. Its not the change Im displeased with and likely that customer wasnt displeased with the either other than their first impression....its the food, the taste of the regular latte I bought (3rd time in 2 months and I tried to give this place a chance...) if the new owner wants to talk to me, comment an email address and well go from there for a conversation on positive critical feedback, Id even offer my experience and work on staff for 3 months to talk about what can be improved. On the plus side, they did a great job with the interior remodeling and Im sure if I tried another location, I may enjoy the drinks and service. Read reviews at your own discretion, anything older than 3 months likely belongs to Angelfire Roasters, which is why this comment was edited. (June-2017) ♥

Welp, that was an incredibly disappointing discovery we made in the morning. And the last time I go to this place. It is now under new management with a new name and a new menu (Edit: This and all its reviews belonged previously to Angelfire Coffee.). In previous years, it appears they have changed every few years but this time its not a simple change in staff to disappoint. In fact, the woman at the counter has been there for a few months and was very kind in explaining the new management. The cold brew coffee is still good but the food is now horribly boring and overpriced. The bagels come from another company, which is somewhat expected, but now, they only have muffins and breakfast burritos. They make the burritos the night prior and reheat them the next morning instead of preparing the food to order like they used to and the coffee menu, though still decent roasts, is a minimal and they are trying to enhance the lack of options by calling it "traditional". I used to love the experimental flavors they would use but I can no longer get my favorite lavender mocha. Just a regular mocha the size of a Starbucks tall (12oz) that costs the same as a Starbucks venti ($5). Id rather have the venti... The burritos, by the way, are the size and taste of a $0.99 microwave burrito from the average grocery store but cost four times as much. We are sorely disappointed and wont be going here anymore.

Sat 3/4 SAD SAD day today. I stopped into Angelfire to get my normal bacon egg and cheese sandwich on a bacon and cheese scuffin, only to find some disappointment. All the walls were bare and there was a new guy behind the counter. I asked what was going on and discovered that Angelfire was sold and will now become Five Points Coffee Roasters. :( They are transitioning and still offer the old menu items, but they didnt have the famous bacon and cheddar scuffins, so I opted for it on a bagel instead. Not even close to the same. I expressed my love for the scuffin to the new owner, but I dont think he shared my love. I guess Ill just have to wait and see what he offers instead. In the meantime, Im morning the loss of my bacon and cheddar scuffin. Previous review: I stop here often for coffee and breakfast sandwiches. They have a bacon cheddar scuffin (scone & muffin mix) that is to die for. Its very light and flaky and has a slight sweetness to it (like a scone), but the bacon cheddar balances it out nicely. My favorite combo is the bacon, egg & cheese sandwich on a bacon cheddar scuffin with caramelized onions added. Yum! They have been out of the suffins in the past, so Ive had their onion sourdough bagel as an alternative, which is also good. However, Ill always get the scuffin if its avaliable!

Like some of the other recent reviewers, I have also been a customer of the previous coffee shops, mostly Angelfire. I was never a big fan of the Angelfire coffee, but the food was very good. The first experience at Five Points was not great. The selection and quality of the food had declined. The coffee was good, but rather expensive. I drink plain drip coffee, so I do not have an opinion about the other coffee drinks or selection. Because it was still in transition and the employees explained that they would eventually be offering a greater selection of house made baked goods, I decided to wait a few weeks and give Five Points another try. It has not gotten better. The muffin and pastry selection is pathetic. As a prior reviewer stated, the breakfast burritos are pre-made and microwaved. The microwave is actually sitting on the counter. Unlike the 7/11 across the street, they pop it in for you, but it doesnt taste any better. To the new owner, your response to the previous review was ridiculous and rude. I fully support small businesses when they offer a quality product or service. I am even willing to pay a bit more, but I am not willing to sacrifice quality. As a small business owner, you need to learn to listen to and learn from constructive criticism rather than lash out like a child.

Im not sure exactly how one of the users here listed the food as poor and then didnt make any comments on the food whatsoever. I will say that Ive been eating here since they opened and the food is downright exceptional. Frankly, I dont even think they need to put as much attention into the food program as they do. It would be just fine as another typical bagel shop, but the quality of the ingredients and preparation is unbelievable. Prices went up recently but frankly they were too cheap previously. not that I was complaining. ;-P one of the extra compelling things about the place is the variety of house made condiments for the sandwiches. And of course, the famous Scuffins. Really really great food.

Wow, Im so excited Five Points Coffee is in the neighborhood. The vibe is super mellow and quiet. This is a great place to work and study. PCC Sylvania college students really need to discover this gem. It is right down the street. Now onto to coffee, it is the best Ive had in the surrounding area. The only way this place can get any better is if they get an alternative milk for us whole30 participants-no sugar added. New Barn unsweetened Almond Milk.

Awesome coffee shop. They carry stumptown and water avenue coffee and delicious homemade ice cream. They also serve wine and beer and I heard a rumor they were going to start brewing their own. Try the Black Bull Shake if you like coffee, oh.my.god. I want one every second of every day. I hate that its so far away from my house but I think its exactly what that area needs. Good vibes inside the location for visiting with friends or studying.
