The Albina Press used to pull the best shots in Portland. They did Stumptown better than Stumptown. The space was immaculate and hip, the baristas beautiful but still nice. I used to work a couple blocks away so I was in there every day. I revisited the Press a few times recently and it seems that times have changed. I think the coffee stars from the Press have moved on to other ventures like Barista and Coava. The whole place seems to have gotten a little shabbier. The drinks are still good but not as good. The shop is still nice but the high ceilings and artisan crafted bar and tables are now seen in coffee shops across Portland. Ill keep going when I need a good coffee shop that is open relatively late but it is no longer the coffee shop you must take your out of town guests to.

The atmosphere is interesting and clean but the music is SO LOUD. It makes it hard to relax in the establishment, headphones on or off. I also dont know if the servers understand basic temperatures when it comes to serving their drinks--they gave me hot water from the tap that burnt my green tea. They were nice enough to give me a new cup of water, but I was disappointed by this as a whole because its the sort of thing Id expect from a Starbucks, not a coffee shop in a city that prides itself on making coffee and teas an art form. Id like to give it another go in the future, but for now Im jaded by a lackluster drink and far too loud speakers.

So many great coffee roasters in Portland its nice when someone focuses on making the coffee. Albina Press makes amazing coffee drinks and takes Barista art to whole new levels. There is a small amount of baked goods available but the focus here is really the coffee. Perfectly hot americanos and amazing Lattes are the home runs here. The folks who work here are serious about there job, but are never to cool to say thank you or make your 3 year old a perfectly warm hot chocolate steamer. Great Wi Fi and lost of small tables for using your tablet or lap top. A couple of big leather chairs for really hunkering down for a while.

I drink coffee and cappuccino all over the world and Albina Press is top tier every time I visit. Very comfortable atmosphere. Interesting real art, not always to my taste but thats better than corporate. Pleasant, human chilled out baristas without being doting or full of tude. They care about a high quality drink without going over the top. If you want a st*rbucks style drink theyll do it but they dont lead with that. Yes, it gets crowded because... duh... its a great local cafe. Excellent baked goods but not a big variety of them. Good selection of recently stamped stumptown beans.

I dont understand, and the clerk wouldnt explain, why a to-go 12 oz coffee costs 50¢ more than a 12 oz mug. $2.25 versus $1.75. The cost of the cup and lid cant be that high, plus a to-go customer only drinks 12 oz, doesnt use the internet, take up space and electricity like a stay-in drinker does. Of course, what really rankles is the attitude that customers dont matter. Economy must be getting too good again.

Youll be hard pressed (ha!) to find a coffee shop with more style than Albina Press. The place oozes coolness in both its decor and its clientele. The coffee is typical Portland fare: Stumptown. Its good (especially if you prefer the lightly roasted, acidic, bright flavor profile that is their signature). This is the coffee shop to go to so you can look like youre getting work done on your screenplay.

Straightforward, delicious, no BS coffee. We tried the cappuccino and the latte, along with a ginger cookie, and everything was excellent. The dining area was quiet with mellow music in the background, and the barista was very nice. This shop deserves the high scores that led me here in the first place. Its a shame I dont live in Portland. Definitely coming back if Im ever in town again.

I was taken aback at how much seating they have. Pretty much all they do is drinks -they do have a small pastry selection - that being said their prices are very reasonable for what they are offering. They offer the Tao of Tea and Dragonfly Chai, great local brands and flavor. The art is nice, and windows are large. Barista was very friendly and patient with me.

This place has a great vibe, really good music, friendly staff and delicious coffee & espresso. There are plenty of seating options and also a couple different counters where you can stand and work as well. There is a small amount of parking right behind the building. The WiFi speed is fast enough to allow you to work remotely and RDP if necessary.

Imagine a warm, velvety bouquet of coffee brilliance tantalizing every molecule of your taste buds. As the warm enriching beverage enters your body you feel a sense of completeness that you have never felt before. In that one moment all is right with the world, you experience nirvana, and you cant quite tell if youre awake or still dreaming.

Great service, great quality. This spot is one of my go to places when I need a place to get a little work done. Couches, tables, power outlets are all readily available, additionally great cell coverage if you prefer to use your own hot spot. -easy parking -power outlets for electronics -good coffee -great art always on display

In my opinion, this is where you want to head to get the best coffee in town. They take their espresso seriously. Its also a great place to hangout, and take a break and enjoy this North Portland neighborhood. Coffee Shop Criteria - Coffee: A - Food: ? - Service: B - Seating: A - WiFi: B - Outlets: C

I love this place and keep coming back to it. The baristas are friendly, yet professional, and no attitude. The coffee is superb, seating plentiful and variable (good options depending whether you came to work or just chat) and the wifi works well. It has just the right vibe for me.

The atmosphere is classic for chill Portland coffee houses. Its good coffee, but pretty standard for the area. Once upon a time I would have said it was the best in the NE of the city, but its one of half a dozen of the same caliber in the neighborhood now. Still a great mocha!!!

I was in portland for a week, stayed down the road at a hostel. I sneaked out for coffe here every morning early, being on east coast time and all. Coffee was amazing, and the atmosphere was open and bright. It was the perfect spot to write out post cards and plan my day.

Albina Press makes great drinks, has a great atmosphere, comfortable couches, friendly staff, reasonable prices, and outdoor seating. The only thing that could be better is the wireless speed. Sometimes there are too many people using it at once and its a little slow...

Albina is pretty darn solid. Love that they open early enough for 6am meetings, and the baristas are generally friendly. I dont love the lack of refills, but they let me have a coffee for free when their credit card machines broke, which is pretty legit in my book.
