Coffee Time is an interesting little corner cafe with an unassuming appearance that really belies what a lovely experience it is to visit Coffee Time. Although the chalk-written menus may seem small, the menu is packed with quality meals and drinks, seemingly designed this way to make sure that no one could ever stumble upon this cafe but find nothing to order that suits their tastes and/or meets their dietary restrictions. As for my visit, the vegan breakfast spinach wrap is delicious to such a surprising degree that I kept thinking, "Wow!" after the first few bites. I had already decided any vegan wrap would be decidedly sub par and unfulfilling. The cold brew drink was creamy and lovely with hazelnut syrup, just as the cashier had recommended. The staff seemed consistently friendly and helpful, as well. Prices arent terrible but they certainly dont fall under "budget breakfast." Obviously, this isnt the one thing you must see in Portland at all costs if youre suddenly living here or are a tourist. However, not giving this place a shot ASAP when you have the resources to do so is doing yourself an injustice.

Funny to see a lot of people complaining that the staff at a Portland coffeehouse is lazy and (gasp!) not all that concerned that you get your coffee in under 30 seconds flat. You know what? Leave Coffee Time alone. Coffee Time was making its bones while you were still banging cheerleaders. Coffee Time is Portland. Its also a place where people live their lives. They stop. They talk to one another. They play chess. And if you dont like it, then shut up and go to one of the other fifteen coffee shops you can see from its front door. Surely one of them has something similar to the low-fat starbucks muffin that youre too ashamed to be seen eating in the hipster part of town.

Im at legacy good sam waiting for my son to arrive, its 11:15 pm and all other coffee shops are closed.. I walked into coffee time and the man behind the counter is obviously at the end of his shift as it closes at midnight..He greets me with a friendly smile and a warm welcome..takes my order and asks how my night is going so I told him that we where expecting a baby soon. This guy actually gets more engaged in the conversation at this point and makes me feel like I have a friend in a very unfamiliar place..he then declined my payment and payed for my coffee with his own money! My friend you made a delicious mocha and my night! Thank you!

One of my favorite coffee shops in Portland if for no other reason but the atmosphere. Super comfortable enviornment, feels like your in a friends living room. Nice comfortable seating/couches/booths, nice lighting, perfect place to spend the day/night studying. Open later then the majority of other coffee shops, busy part of town with a lot going on for those that like to sit outside and do some people watching. Think they may even have some board games available but not positive. Oh yeah and the coffee is delicious too! They also have a small selection of food can make sandwichs some pastries ect. but foods a little pricey

Ive been to Coffee Time a lot in the past and generally have enjoyed it, but I was appalled by the treatment I received this morning from an employee. Minutes after a friend and I sat down at a table, we were approached by the barista and guilt tripped into ordering right away just because we had our laptops out. She assumed we were there to use the internet, and when I pointed out I wasnt going to use it, she stuck to her false argument that there is a sign on the front door telling us we must order something in order to stay. Really the sign says we must order if were using the internet. I am not going back.

Coffee Time has a great atmosphere. A good place to get into a random intellectual discussion with other people. Unfortunately, they replaced the best couch in the place with a table and chairs about a year ago. The coffee is great and they have a huge variety of flavors of coffee and tea. A few good snacks, and the panini arent bad. Service depends on whos on staff at the moment, but is generally good. Theres live music on Friday evenings, and the place stays open until a generous 2am (though it used to be 2:30).

This place is a unique gem of NW portland. It has a laid back atmosphere with a lot of space hidden in the back. Its quiet and the coffee served is excellent. You can come hide away to get work done on your laptop, read or meet up with friends and enjoy the outdoor seating that will expose you to the eccentric vibe of Irving street. Also a great spot for late night laptop sprints, as they are open until midnight. Also must say that the staff is always easy going and friendly, accentuating the relaxed vibe.

The ambiance is not really my style here. I like to usually grab a coffee and go. I personally enjoy the white chocolate mocha and the americano. The best part of coming here is definitely the baristas. They are real people who treat customers like people. There is a barista there who can always turns my frown upside down. I do not recall her name but she is a blondie who usually wears a messy bun -- umm, yeah, she is amazing, amazing, amazing. Seriously a wonderful person.

I have been coming to Coffee Time on and off for the last year. The service here has always been good, the coffee is superb, and I really enjoyed the turkey croissant sandwich I had one afternoon. One of my favorite places to take a book and relax for a few hours. Also, dont let the smaller front fool you, there is more than enough seating stretching to the back of the shop.

One of the best coffee shops in Northwest Portland. Great coffee, customer service and cool ambiance. Open late hours, so its a perfect place to use wifi, and do your work in a lively environment, or simply hangout with friends. Decor is classical, and the shop is quite big though it does look really small from outside. Plus, its heaven for Chess lovers.

The coffee is good and the baristas are friendly. However, you get some weird people in there as well. So, if you dont mind taking the risk that youll be stuck behind someone that changes their order while the barista is making their original drink.... Stop in. Oh, its also open late which is nice cuz I work nights.

Great coffee (Water Avenue!), great pastries. Staff is super friendly, atmosphere is very laid back -- perfect for a rainy day -- and the seating is abundant. Prices are reasonable for what you get, too! Definitely a gem of NW Portland; Im more than happy to make the trip out here, and I bet youll be, too!

I love the atmosphere of this place. It is open late which is awesome. The prices are a bit on the high side I feel and they can be a bit rude about the bathroom key at times. Still one of the better coffee shops in town. Also has a chess night which is awesome.
