Their standard roast is quite good, or at least the day I went. A Brazilian and Ecuadorian mix, it reminded me of many of the roasts I tasted in Auckland, NZ. Id give the roast itself an 8/10. I did however take a star off this review, because the sweeteners here are behind the counter. You have to awkwardly ask the barista to add it for you. Space in the shop is quite limited, so if youre a big person, you might have a hard time inside.

I LOVE this place. Its so adorably tiny and they serve macaroons from Nuvrei and their coffee is delicious. But, dont try and visit this place after 6.... because after 6 it transforms into a totally different venue; M Bar. Thats right this space is owned by two entirely separate owners. So its Sterling Coffee by day and M-Bar by night. They switch the signs out and everything. Its pretty amazing.

This place basically sells legal crack. Its amazing. I was chatting with a girl at a different roaster, and she mentioned that she goes to Sterling on her day off. I bought a bag the other day to have a source at home, and it brewed up perfectly with my cheap French press. I highly recommend their cold brew. I unwittingly bought some at 3pm once, and wasnt able to sleep that night.

This is my all time favorite coffee spot in Portland. The staff is very attentive and friendly. The seating is quaint but comfortable. It almost feels like a small hole in the wall coffee shop in Paris. The chairs tea is amazing but everything I have tried was excellent. The small pastries are local and tasty. Try the espresso with sparkling water to truly taste their excellent beans.

Nicely focused menu in an intimate spot with knowledgeable and informative staff. Loved the drip coffee side to provide a foil to the espresso, it was well chosen (In this case the espresso was a natural-processed lot of Limmu Kossa and the drip was a washed Ethiopian from a different region), and the snifter was a nice, uncommon-but-extremely-logical vehicle for the shot.

One of the classier cafes in Portland, with just the fundamentals but plenty of skill. This is owned by the same people as Coffeehouse Northwest down the street. Try both of their espresso roasts for $5

I had an absolutely fantastic time here. Its a cozy compact space conducive to catching up with a friend or striking a conversation with the very friendly baristas. Also, fantastic coffee!

Hands-down one of the best coffee places in Portland. I had a cinnamon roll that was divine, and as the staff pointed out, its a medieval recipe for what eventually became a morning bun.

Excellent roasts, cozy layout, and incredible drinks. In the evening, the space is transformed into M Bar, you can stop by for great happy hour deals on beer or wine.

Love the tiny sign on the street, no neon here. Espresso comes in a whisky glass and tastes awesome. And the Barista are super friendly and into it. Awesomeness!

The Blendo Stupendo is a lovely espresso roast for home cappucis. Not too dark, not too light. The people here are always so nice a make a proper drink too.

Pint-sized and an excellent brie baguette. Not absolutely worth driving across Portland for, but a good option if you are nearby. Very friendly service.

Incredible place to get coffee. I loved their single origin Kenya espresso. So far one of the top 5 coffee joints I tried around the globe.

Nice hole-in-the-wall cafe; not much in terms of indoor seating, but their friendliness and quality of coffee more than make up for it
