Im a sushi snob, and it always seems to be that the low-key, less glamorous Sushi restaurants are the ones I end up preferring. Since moving from Seattle to Portland, Ive been using word of mouth, and yelp/google reviews to find a good sushi restaurant. Ive come up short a lot. Many places arent worth mentioning because they are so bad. Sinju is "okay", Sabbaro to me is highly overrated. Bamboo is great, as long as you understand that its tough to park, and youd better be prepared to spend there. If your goal is great, fresh sushi, this place is on par with Bamboo for taste. You wont get the unique menu items, or the ambiance of Bamboo though. It doesnt have upscale decor, its not in a thriving district, but the sushi is great. The servers are very friendly.

We had a quick dinner, prices are ok... but we order sushi to go.. but it was different when we got home. I didnt like to be told/explained the menu since we ate the exact same thing 30 minutes ago. I was told that I was wrong even though its sitting right in front of me, not them. I also tasted it, super spices. Anyone can taste that change. Then when I asked if he was the owner or manager he said no. So I asked for one of those person. He said it was him I needed to speak with. I proceeded to say " Ill call back in the morning to speak with someone who isnt going to argue.

I stopped in here on a whim and was relatively impressed. The uni was very fresh but the portion was huge! I couldnt get it in my mouth. Maybe its just me but I prefer smaller 1-2 bite portions. They were training a new server so I had two people working my table yet barely was acknowledged. I had to hunt people down for a fill up of my club soda and then again when I wanted to order a few more pieces of sushi. The quality of the fish was nice however and I will go back. Would have given four stars but for the marginal service. Maybe they were having a bad night.

Judging from the Assorted Sashimi platter I will say the fish is great quality, with excellent texture, flavor and temperature. The Miso soup is delicious and not void of ingredients as some can be (plus its cheap). It may be a pricey, if you expect everything to compare to sushi-on-a-train prices (get over yourselves!). be aware of rolls with too much house sauce (spicy mayo) and please try the tempura burger, its flippin delicious

This has become our favorite sushi spot in LO. Im not much of a raw sushi fan. It either has to be cooked or covered with sauce and/or crunch and this place has plenty of those types of sushi roll options. Service has always been friendly and fast, as well. Our fav roll is def the Blazin Blazer (just spicy enough for us) and we also love the Gyoza. I look forward to trying out more of the menu!

Food was awful. Waitress was unaware that the food was Japanese as well as unknowledgeable about the menu. She continued to get our orders wrong not once but two times and the manager refused to even discount the food that was not even touched. Terrible service terrible food! I guess i will need to return to my homeland for "authentic" Japanese cuisine!

Horrible service, took forever to get any attention and place was nearly empty! Asked for allergen free menu options, and ended up getting served more than one plate with the very allergen we were trying to avoid! Not at all impressed with this place. The bill was pretty hefty for only so so tasting food. We will never go there again.

We are Friday night regulars and have eaten at all the sushi bars in Portland. Fresh, innovative and original rolls that make us going back for more. Prices are comparable and the staff are so friendly and welcoming to everyone. We have recommenced to friends and they too thought sushi was tremendous. We are going there tonight!

Was in Portland for the weekend, looking for a good sushi place near where I was staying. Found this, and decided to try it. Service AND food were AWESOME! we ate and drank at a very reasonable price, bartender/waitress was so nice and did a great job. Will be coming to them again, next time I travel to Portland!

Better sushi spots in the area: horrible service, sweaty chef who was coughing all over (not safe when handling any food but most especially with raw fish), rude server who was yelling at other employees, and the sushi itself was poor quality small proportion over priced... All in all I found zero reason to return.

Two words: tempura burger. It just might change your life. The sushi is also good, the fish quality was high, and the texture and the amount of rice was perfect. My husband has gone back twice for the burger now. Ive had the Poke Donburi and the teriyaki salmon. The poke was excellent, the salmon as fine.

I was in a hurry when I entered and was looking for a sushi carousel. But they were able to accommodate my requests quickly. The spider hand rolls and CA sushi rolls were soooo good. Yum! The CA seemed to melt in my mouth. The quality and flavors were much better than the sushi trains Ive been to.

Our service was amazing! We came I had a slow time. It was nice and quiet. Our server was very polite. We ordered multiple things, and it came out as soon as the item was done. The portions are a little big, but splitting it with my husband was perfect. We would come back again for sure.

I have been coming to Momo since they opened. The food has always been fantastic. The sushi is fresh, beautifully displayed and reasonably priced. The entre items are great with a little something for everyone. I especially recommend the yakiniku donburri (steak rice bowl).

Came here because we didnt want to wait 3 hours at a trendy Hawthorne sushi joint. The place was empty. The sushi and rolls were quite acceptable, and the service was quite friendly. The cost was lower than average, making this a good eating experience.

Stay away from their sushi! They deep freeze their Salmon, Mackerel, and UNI !! I was a sushi chef for 6+ years 2 as the executive chef and these guys dont know what theyre doing when it comes to sushi.

The staff was very accommodating to my food allergies and the food was good. The yakiniku donburi was a little too salty, but the spicy hawaian rolls were really good.
