The transformation this building went through is AMAZING! It looks incredible, the décor and styling is great, kudos to the interior design team. They did not skimp in this area, which is great. The bar is gorgeous and the centerpiece to the restaurant, its a really nice focal point. I have been here a few times now since they opened. Here are my observations: There is no pricing on the beer/wine/cocktail menu. When asking our server on our first visit for pricing on beer, she did not know, and just gave us a price range of $6-$11 "depending on the alcohol content." In my opinion, anything over $6 for a pint is too high, and I fear they may price themselves out of the market. I do not expect each and every server to memorize the pricing on every cocktail they have.. why not list it on the menu? The cocktail menu also does not specify what brand of liquor comes in the drinks. So you wont know what youre getting, or what youre paying for it. When you look at the bar, they do not have any liquor bottles on display like most bars, here they are all hidden behind the bar. So I suppose servers are also expected to memorize every type of liquor they carry. It makes me a little wary to order alcohol because the brand of liquor is not listed on the menu, there is no price, and the bottles are hidden at the bar, so a bartender could literally put anything into my drink and I wouldnt know. Im sure this isnt what was intended, but its definitely something to consider, its very off-putting. All food items we have ordered thus far have been average at best, with the exception of the steak bites on happy hour. Those were fantastic and cooked perfectly with great plating presentation. Our server quoted the soup of the day as clam chowder, but what we got was more of a seafood chowder with salmon and other things in it. It tasted like liquid smoke. My biggest pet peeve when dining out is my drink going empty. This place has been nothing if not over staffed each time I have been in, and each time I have had to wait forever for refills several times throughout our meals. Keeping drinks full is basic service 101. I have also never been visited at my table by a manager any of the times I have been, nor have I seen what appeared to be one walking around. I would love to voice my concerns about the bar to someone. Hopefully they will read this review. All in all, I try not to be nit picky but theres just things that bother me about this place. I really want to like it, and hopefully they will win me over with more time. Step up the service, food quality, and consider my bar concerns, and this place could be a real gem in the Hillsboro community.

I do not like to write bad reviews. I never have before. This is the 3rd time I have visited Copper River and I will not be back. The food is delicious, the staff is friendly. Here is where it is problematic. I come with family, anywhere from 5 people one visit to 9 people. My last visit I picked Copper River because I looked online and I remembered the menu and they have a veggie burger for our vegetarian friend. We were seated and when we were ordering we were told they did not have veggie burgers anymore. Ok, but why is it still on the menu? In the store and online? There was only a salad option or mac and cheese other than that. Then, we ordered , about 15 minutes later our waiter tells my son that they ran out of meatloaf so he has to change his order.. Ok, but you just NOW find out? It took an hour to get our food. No joke, ok but it was busy and we had a large party. Here is the biggest problem. They brought 1/3 of our parties food out, then it took another 10 to 15 minutes to bring out every one elses. This happened on a previous visit. This is a huge no no for me. While others are starving, they can either watch people eat OR those who got their food had to wait and let their food be cold. My husband was DONE with his food by the time my 2 kids plates came out. Im sorry but this is not something I find appealing or acceptable. Too bad because the food is very good. My check was $150 and I dont feel I got my moneys worth.

We really enjoyed our meal at the new Copper River Restaurant. When I made our Open Table reservation, Id asked for a quiet booth. When we walked in I realized that was a tall order for this restaurant. It isnt quiet, its actually quite loud and lively. But, imagine my surprise when they led us to the last booth in the back, tucked into a nice corner! It was so obvious that they read and honored my request. That was really nice and somewhat unexpected (I always ask for this in my Open Table reservations and most restaurants just dont seem to see the request or cannot honor it for whatever reason). Oh, and the booths are HUGE - I think you could easily fit 5-6 people in one. The food was good - Love the fried chicken dinner. Winner Winner! Also, I had a jalapeño berry margarita that was not too light on the booze and just spicy enough. The fried pickles were AMAZING. FYI - It is not the same as their other restaurant in Lake Oswego - that seems a bit more upscale and quieter. Copper River has more of a neighborhood bar feel. The place was packed, so reservations are a good idea for sure. Parking was a little tough, since they seem to share the lot with BJs next store. But a little walk before dinner isnt a bad thing. :-) Well be back!

Very nice place - good eats - fair prices - good service. Ran across this place and decided to give it a try. We started with the fried pickle and asparagus appetizer and the corn fritters appetizer. The fried pickle and asparagus were pretty good, but the corn fritters were delicious. The fritters had a nice light crunch with soft center and marvelous honey dipping sauce. These are a must try item. One of people in our party had the Tuscan kale salad, but was not very impressive. For main course I had the meatloaf - wow was it awesome. My wife had the miso salmon which was also great. One of the others had the northwest steel-head salad, and the other entree in our party was the wild salmon. Every one of the entrees were great, but the favorite at the table was the meatloaf, which was topped with bacon and onion rings, and came with mashed potatoes and glazed carrots. We finished off sharing a tiramisu which was OK but not great, and an apple walnut cobbler which was totally awesome. They also had a great selection of beer. I really like the place and will be back when I am in the neighborhood.

My wife and I ate here last Thursday night for the first time. Likes the place and atmosphere. I ordered the Traditional Fried Chicken dinner. When the food came I couldnt believe my eyes. The chef here has obviously never had real fried chicken before. It came covered in deep fried breading to the point when I scraped it off, the pile was bigger than the chicken. Then I took a bite and almost spit it out. The bottom of the chicken was uncooked and wet breading and it had a spice on it I could not identify, but I guarantee it has never been used on chicken before. The dish gave new meaning to fowl. I sent it back as inedible and ordered something light. While i sat there watching my wife eat the server came back to inform me she would not be charging me for the chicken. LOL, really? She was cool to say the least after I sent the food back. Acted as though there was something wrong with me! The manager never showed to apologize, offer a free glass of wine while I waited, or comp my new meal. These people have not a clue of what service means. Obviously we will never return.
