It was my birthday last night, and I wanted to go someplace different, but a place that had a high rating. After some searching, I settled on Barley Sprout Restaurant & Brewery because they had the highest rating on Google of all restaurants in Gresham that I looked at. I dont drink beer, but I think their beer is really good through indirect clues. I really enjoyed the Kombucha and the Lemonade. Ezra, the front man, is a lot of why this is a highly rated restaurant. His personality is very accommodating and he is able to sincerely welcome anyone who comes in. The food was out of this world. Ezra and the cook grow a lot of the food in a garden behind the restaurant. You cant get fresher, and the food fulfilled that promise. The pizza was high quality, the crust divine, and the pie was perfectly done. We had the Veggie with Sausage pizza. We had the olive bowl, and I enjoyed the way it was served and presented. The olives and the bread were good as well. There were a few hiccups in service, for instance our appetizer arrived after the main course, but in all honesty, we ordered it at the wrong time. Best pizza Ive had in years, and this is coming from a man born in Buffalo who lived in New England for a long time. I heartily recommend this restaurant.

Great atmosphere. Excellent food. Fresh ingredients. Clean. Owner is kicking ass, wearing multiple hats up front. Made us feel like we were visiting his home. Goat cheese pizza was very good. Blue cheese on the beet salad was especially good. Honestly because of that char warning on the menu, I think chef could have gone slightly bolder with a slightly heavier char on the bottom but that is just my preference. Crust was excellent though and I liked that it didnt come out as hot as a thousand suns and burn my mouth. Wife and I agreed the sauce was perfect. Light. I thought the beer on tap was fantastic and and honey lavender lemonade was every bit as good as something youd get from an eatery charging three times the amount. I think you guys should not deviate from the menu; beer, honey lavender lemonade, pizza, salad- keep it simple. Menu is the perfect size. I feel like the owner has seen his fair share of Gordon Ramsay. Great job guys! Wish you continued success.

Saw great reviews for this restaurant and were glad we gave it a shot. Our whole experience was how a restaurant should be from beginning to end. The owner was doing a one man show tonight and handles it perfectly. He was genuine and kind even under the pressure of not having his employee there and having 15+ customers to help. We didnt feel like we received less service due to the circumstances. The pizza was absolutely delicious. We ordered the Happy Hawaiian and Margherita. The owner suggested adding honey and chili flakes to the Happy Hawaiian on the next visit. My husband enjoyed the IPA that is brewed at the restaurant. We were also given the chocolate mousse and that was the cherry on top of our visit. We will be back....soon! Thank you!

The pizza is amazing! I have never tasted so many fresh ingredients all together on pizza! And the Honey Lavender Lemonade is outta this world! Thank you to the owner who greeted us with a positive attitude and made us feel at home. The vibe you get from this place is welcoming and peaceful. Super Chill. I would definitely return! I live in west linn and am only in the area dog sitting for a friend. But, I will for sure take the trip to visit this place again! Thank you for having amazing food and drinks. Much appreciated! Happy customer!

Brewed on location. The pizza is killer! Individual flavors explode in each bite. The pizza sauce has a little acidity to it. Its not masked by sweetness. The IPA was delicious. The amber was good but the summer seasonal was better. The owner is very personable. You would be remiss to not make an appearance at Barley Sprout.

Excellent place that I cant WAIT to go back to. The beers were way better than expected and so was the pizza. All handmade so you can taste the quality through every ingredient. Best yet though, the honey lavender lemonade is going to be a must have this summer before I go to the beach or any other outdoor activity.

Wonderful atmosphere. Beer was very tasty but not necessarily outstanding or unique. Pizza was phenomenal. Chef/owner was very pleasant and greet us upon arrival. Bar tender was also very helpful and amiable. Fair prices for the quality. Highly recommend and will be back.

Good food and pleasant service. Bit difficult getting in and out of the parking lot and across 223. I did appreciate the option to pick up the pizza instead of just having to sit in the restaurant. The interior was quaint and the music playing was not overbearing.

We were lucky enough to have this place to ourselves while we were there. My husband loved all the house brewed beer that he tried and the pizza was amazing. They had some games to keep kids entertained while we waited, and the service couldnt have been better.

I happened to stumble upon this little cafe while attending a paint party :-) I ordered the honey lavender lemonade and beet salad. They were both deliciously fresh and amazing. The owner and his wife are totally awesome and I will definitely visit there again

Vibrant delicious pizzas, top notch beers, A+ service. We had a Veggie Pizza, the Jalapeño Pineapple pizza, and the kale salad. All were fantastic. And the lavender lemonade is absolutely magical. Try this place, you wont regret it.

Exactly what everyone says. A relaxed place with a welcoming host. Pizza was some of the best in Portland with so much attention to flavor balance and a wonderful crust. The lemonade is something special too.

Great beer and heavenly food. The occasional live music is chill and well worth listening to- while enjoying an in-house malted barley brew and sourdough pizza. The Barley Sprout is a lovely little local!

Excellent pizzas - we tried 4 different types - pepperoni, hawaiian, greek and goat cheese. All were different, but delicious. The lavender lemonade is also zesty and fresh.
