Thursday early evening so it wasnt very busy. First visit, in Newberg for a class. Place is small but quaint. Dont get a table near the rear unless you like looking at the dishwashing and cleaning processes. Had the tamale and chili rellano, wife had the tamale and enchilada. Food was served hot and quick but overall everything was extremely over salted. Could not even finish it. Ordered double rice instead of beans and even the rice was salty. The tamales were 98% masa, almost zero filling. On the plus side the chips were good and the salsa had just enough heat. Wont be returning.

First visit. Very good food and service. The staff was friendly and patient while we reviewed the many items on the menu. Went in about 4:30 on a Saturday and just after 5 the place started to fill up with guests. The food came out on a very large and very hot plater. They do not skimp on portions. The food was very good and nicely plated. The cost is most appropriate for what you get. The bar drinks were pretty average. The restaurant, I thought, was clean and had a comfortable atmosphere. Overall, this is a nice place to dine. I plan to return to try other menu items.

Food was OK, but service was terrible! From the second we sat down it seemed like we were a bother and the waiter couldnt get us out of there fast enough! The second we finished eating the check was on the table, we paid and the waiter ignored us the rest of the hour we remained there talking. They werent busy so didnt need the table! Will never go back and tell everyone I know no to go there!

Favorite American style Mexican food in newberg. Friendly staff that always get our specialty orders correct (lactose intolerant) and they make a stiff drink too! Thier complementary homemade chips and salsa are fresh and spicy, and the food is usually out within 5-10 mins from placing you order.

This was the first time i have been there and it was an amazing experience overall. The food was very good but the best part was the people who worked there. They are so nice and they are funny and they actually care about their customers. Thank you for the genuine experience!!

I love this place. A different special for everyday of the week and is only 5$. Food is wonderful and the service is stupider fast. One time my buddy as i timed it. We got our specials in 6 min. Faster than ANY drive through and 100 times better to boot.

My family and I have been coming here for years. It is one of our favorite restaurants in Newberg because the service is tremendous. For a hot plate of Mexican / American food, Ixtapa is also tough to beat.
