Tonight I decided to try House of Chen after reading the three lies posted below. I just got through vomiting. Its 10:15 and they closed 15 minutes ago, and although Ive thought about calling and asking for a refund to make me happy, its probably better they are closed and unable to buy my silence. I ordered the potstickers and the mandarin chicken. What I got was indescribable. In the car, a little past halfway home, I could swear I smelled a yeast infection in my car and I rolled down the windows. I almost turned around. I continued on because it was late, I was hungry and exhausted, and because sometimes food that smells funky turns out to be a cultural treat for the tongue, like something I cant think of right now.. The potstickers were only subpar-minus and I dont think they made me sick. They were the worst Ive had in this town, but they were not repulsive. The Mandarin Chicken, on the other hand, was the odor culprit. I ate about a quarter of it because apparently Im a total idiot. It was a bad strategy and I paid for it in the end. I stopped eating when I got into some chicken that just pulled apart in a funny way when I forked it. That is when the taste of putrification penetrated through the sauce and salt and I couldnt eat anymore. After about ten minutes I threw it all away, and in another ten minutes I took out my trash to get the smell out of my house. Soon, my stomach began to tighten and pulse and I ran to the bathroom to be sick. The End. The Moral of This Story Is Go Somewhere Else, Anywhere Else.

My family and I have dined at this superb Chinese restaurant near the U of O campus for 9 years. An extensive menu - meat, poultry, seafood and vegetarian -, a most helpful staff that guides one through the seasonal menu, attention to cooking details, customer wishes and always quick and courteous service, along with reasonable prices have made House of Chen our go to place for a Chinese meal. Ordering off the menu - not a problem here. Highly recommended

Human hair on fork and also two hairs in rice bowl. Server did not seem too concerned about our disgust over the hairs. Never checked in with us during meal and never apologized for incident. However, they did check on other customers throughout their meals. We felt very uncomfortable eating our food and we will not return to restaurant due to poor sanitary conditions.

I have tried to find a good chinese resteraunt in Eugene and in Springfield, THIS is the only place I will go from now on! The waitress is nice and I have eaten here so often that I can honestly say there is not a single bad dish. They are all too good. I also LOVE their egg flour soup. Amazeballs resteraunt

Went to get chicken chow mein. She said i would love it and be back. Wasnt that good at all. First and only time there though too, but from here on out i just go to the chinese buffet a block east of there. First time there i tipped twice because she kept giving me more free food without asking for it!!

I think its the best pure Chinese restaurant in Eugene. Weve had several dishes on the menu and they are all well prepared and consistently good. If youre looking for Chinese in Eugene, House of Chen is your best option!

This is my all time Fav!! I love this place and would never go anywhere else for Chinese. My favorite dishes are the Egg flower soup and anything they make with the Rice Noodles! :-D

Their fried rice is a joke. I cant believe what I had. It seems like warm frozen steam rice without anything, no eggs, no vegie. Seafood is ok.

Horrible service. Dirty silverware. Fruit flies. Food is better from a frozen TV dinner.
