The wood fired oven here is churning out the 2nd best pizza crust I have had in Oregon. I love a pizza crust that is slightly charred, crunchy, with a nice chew. So many artisan pizza places miss that second trait...crunch. I need that perfect crunch to really fall in love with a pizza. For instance, I love Pyro Pizza, but as hot as that oven looks, it misses that crunch factor. Apizza Scholls has all three and is my number one. Each crust at Red Hills is hand stretched to order. We had the daily special: Pizza topped with linguica sausage, chanterelle mushrooms, and roasted fingerling potatoes. The toppings were top notch quality and a great mix. However, the pizza was missing a sauce or a drizzle of something to tie it all together. I was disappointed in their charcuterie and cheese selection. They have the right space and look for it, but they dont have enough of a selection that this part of Oregon Wine Country is aching for. Most of their cured meats are imported from other Oregon delis. I think Newberg/Dundee needs a charcuterie/deli/cheese shop that makes in-house salumi, rilletes, pates, etc. Red Hills looks to have that potential and it would certainly make it the go-to-place to pack that wine country picnic basket. That complaint aside, Red Hills pizza is definitely my go-to-joint, for Dundee wine excursion.

3.0 stars overall. Basic fresh local deli type place. Order at the counter, take a number, wait for delivery. Small place. Front house is cramped as per the seating situation. I didnt know that there is a patio out back by the bathrooms. So visitors take note. My husband ordered the pizza Margherita. It was basic. Good. We get that it is suppose to be brick oven cooked, but the kitchen staff should keep an eye out for much too much char. My husband does not like burnt food. 2.5/5 stars. We split an order of the jo-jos. I really enjoyed them and their dipping sauce. Again with the char....kitchen staff needs to keep an eye out on the fire. Dont send out burnt product. 4/5 stars. I ordered the open faced RB sandwich. I would order it again. It was decent. 3.8/5 stars. They sell various regionally made sauces, cheese, meats, and kitchenwares etc in their little shop area. Nothing exciting. I guess their is a line out the door for this place on some weekend afternoons. This just didnt rock our world. Maybe we will give them a second try when we are back in the area.

Ive stopped in here several times and it is usually been a little busy because they have some really tasty food and beer selections. But tonight I walked in a little later because I had to work late. I asked to see a menu but the nice girl explained that the kitchen was already closed but they did have a few cold selections. I chose a really delicious salad and an American Pale Ale. Wow, it was good. As I was finishing, the last customer (other than me) departed. Then the server came over with a paper bag and explained that they had unsold pastries and asked if I would like to take them home. Well, there were at least a dozen scones and bear claws and donuts in the bag! I will bring them to work to share tomorrow. Sometimes someone does something that just restores your faith in mankind. To me, the donuts in that bag just represent the inherent kindness of people. So, if you just happen to pass by the little town of Dundee, OR, you just might meet someone with a good heart.

I was pretty stoked to visit this place based on the reviews. It turned out to be a disappointment. : / I rarely write negative reviews, but this place warranted one, unfortunately. The pizzas are small (12") and over-priced. $14.00 for that small pizza. There were a lot of flies flying around, and a lot of dead ones on the floor. The tables and seats had crumbs on them. The young lady behind the counter seemed indifferent. There was really nothing appealing or welcoming about it. We asked for one of our pizzas to to have extra, extra pepperoni, and paid extra for it, yet it didnt seem any different than a regular pepperoni pizza. Including tip, we paid 40.00 for only two small pizzas. Pretty disappointing all in all.

Dundee is a little town about 40min from Portland, in the middle of the Willamette Valley wine region. A lot of the wineries are located around this town, and some have really nice picnic areas. This market is a great place to grab a fancy sandwich to eat in one of the more scenic wineries, or to sit-down for a bite after a long day of wine-tasting. We had a roastbeef sandwich that was outstanding, also a bacon & egg sandwich that was very tasty. They were both $7. Other people were having their thin-crust artisan pizzas and they looked fantastic, but they were a bit more expensive, $11-12. Overall, a very pleasant place to eat gourmet food in the middle of wine country.

Excellent menu, service and atmosphere! Red Hills Market provides fantastic fare year round with unique offerings that sing with NW Wine Country flare. The rustic-chic atmosphere is warm and inviting, with indoor and outdoor seating, open kitchen complete with wood-fire oven, and displays of local wines, artisan cheeses, gourmet products from regional vendors and art by premier local artists. The staff is energetic and personable, making each visit a delight. My favorite dish? Aside from their array of amazing wood-fired pizzas, Im always in the mood for Red Hills roasted filberts (hazelnuts) with bacon and herbs.

Went here for lunch, and the order was taken quickly at the counter (no table service here). It was fairly busy that day, but it took 20-30 minutes for us to get our to-go order. It was hot when we got it but my ham sandwich was a bit underwhelming. The deli case looked like it had some good options, but I wouldnt get the smoked ham sandwich again. If youre in a rush, Im not sure this is the place to go, but if youre able to sit down and try a few things, Id bet it would be pretty good. Its also a bit spendy for lunch, but there arent a whole lot of options in the area.

The food is excellent. I am a wine tour driver and have never had a complaint about the food yet. However, this place is very popular during wine tasting season. It is easy to wait up to an hour for your order at lunch time on Fridays and Saturdays. It is best to pre-order your food with a pick up time, then easy asst one of the wineries that is picnic friendly. Check with each winery regarding picnics. Parking is sometimes difficult to find in their lot but you can park on the streetwithin a block of the market most times.

Cute cute cute little deli and market. Perfect place to pick up some picnic supplies to take with you to your favorite winery. You can also eat here, they have pizza and sandwiches, both are terrific. Also a changing selection of local beer, both draft and bottle. Kind of an old-timey country store kind of feel, my only complaint being that some of the stuff they carry is made in China, and I really wanted it to ALL be local. But still, I go back almost every time I pass through Dundee.

This amazing establishment is run by some of the most hard working and friendly people in the valley. Not only do they have a killer menu but they collectively act as your guide and concierge to great wine tasting in Willamette Valley. Definitely fit this favorite spot, that is so close my heart and so many others, into your itinerary. You wont regret it. Also, keep up with their events because they are always a lot of fun!
