Food is pretty good and the bartender (cannot remember his name is AMAZING)! The service is something different, we have been here 4 different times (because the food is delicious) and each something has been messed up. Last time we were here, we ordered a sushi platter and we did not get everything that was listed on the menu to come with it (No big deal). We mentioned it to the waitress and she argued with us, told us we were wrong (we werent) and she did not have an understanding of the difference between the different styles of sushi. It appeared she believed that all nigiri, sashimi, nigri, etc.. were all the same, which is why she was argueing with us. Again, no big deal, expect she returned with the appropriate sushi and half dropped (with attitude) on the plate on the table. She did not apologize for anything and no manager ever came to speak with us.. Food is amazing, service is always questionable.

Came in for takeout. Sat at the bar ordered a drink while waiting for my food to arrive. I wouldnt say the place was packed, but it was busy. I waited an acceptable amount of time for my food (15 minutes), but the bartender never asked for a refill, took 15 minutes to get me the bill. After I tried to directly hand him my card he retreated back to another customer that just sat down. After another 10 minutes I walked to the front desk hoping I could pay there... Nope one of the hostessss walked back to the bar and rang me out. The food minus the duck was fantastic (I got the impression it was extremely pre-made). If the bartender tried harder to service customers than to look busy, Id rate my experience higher...

Unfortunately, I can only give this experience 3 stars. We arrived for dinner around 8p on Friday. The place was only 1/2 full but we were told there would be 30 minute wait. I was told that the empty tables were for reservations. We were seated 40 minutes later back in the bar area. Drinks at the bar were just ok. The bar was completely full with people waiting on tables and only one bartender. Who was working very hard to keep up. Our server was Grace. She saved the experience for us. Friendly outgoing, attentive, she was great. Food was actually very good. The place never filed up. Some people that were waiting ate at bar. Some left. There were obviously no reservations but just a lack of staff.

Very nice modern design. I sat at the bar and the bartender was great. We hit it off with good conversation about Wooster and the need for good food. He took care of all my food needs. I wanted spicy and I got it spicy. I wanted good sake and he delivered. The service was prompt and the food came out on time and not rushed. The Asian dumplings were better than average and the Pad Thai was better than most other places. The sushi chef joined us at the bar and he enjoyed some sake with me. He then shared some of wonderful chared jalapenos with garlic and scallions. I will return to try many of the menu options that of which sounded incredible and creative.

I have eaten here on a handful of occasions (a few times for lunch and one dinner). I find the food to always be excellent in taste and quality (especially the rolled tofu option). The most common thing I get is Pho with no meat. I find the portions to be generous and filling. However. the lunch prices are more reasonable than their dinner ones. I just find the lunch pricing to be more of a value.

This place is easy to get to within Wooster. A nice modern restaurant. The menu itself has an extensive range of Asian foods, which I got the sweet and sour chicken from the Classic section. The chicken was slightly deep fried which I was not used to with this dish. Overall the food was fresh and managed to get a seat beside the sushi maker which made for fun viewing.

We went around at 3:00 pm and the server gave us lunch menus, then charged us dinner prices which was almost double. You can only get happy hour pricing if you set in bar area?? The portions were small and the was a hair in my beverage . Definitely better places to go in town.

I have been here several times and everything is always wonderful. The food is delicious (my favorites being the salt and pepper shrimp and the pataya), the staff is courteous and professional, and I enjoy the relaxing atmosphere.

Food was very good. Atmosphere good looking. There is a need for sound reduction, noisy. Hostess sat us at table next to extra chairs and high chairs, not sure why for there were plenty of open seating. The staff was gracious.

Enjoyed a wonderful double date night here. Eloquent atmosphere and delicious food. A bit pricey but worth it and the portions are big. Sapporo on tap. Call ahead to make a reservation.

Philly roll, peanut curry, and crab ragoons were amazing. Calamari was good, but too sweet for my taste. Pork Dumplings would have been better warm. But we bet all good and falavorful.

Very hip and modern atmosphere. Great service considering how busy they were at the time. I look forward to coming back and trying some more of their menu.

Rude hostess talked over us to others when we arrived and didnt greet us. Brought us the wrong eggrolls and the fried rice was tasteless. Wont be back.

Basil is great Asian restaurant, with a wide variety of oriental cuisine, as well as one of the most gracious and knowledgeable bartenders around.
