The building itself is not much to look at... but what comes out of the kitchen is roadside barbecue at its finest. I was not expecting my meal to be this good. My mom had the smoked half chicken with a side of greens and cornbread. I had the pulled pork sandwich platter with Carolina-style sauce and a side of smoked cabbage and dirty beans. Everything we tried was flipping amazing. The meat was tender and smokey and you can tell it was prepared with a lot of love and pride. The sides were made from scratch. I can tell when someone hands me collard greens from a can...these were made the slow, old-fashioned way. The dirty beans...omg...terrific. And then the smoked cabbage...my mouth is watering just thinking about it. Lastly, the sauces were awesome, too. Its hard to find good vinegar based Carolina-style Q sauce in the north but Fat Man at Oak Hill made it just right. Which brings me to Fat Man....what a joy this man is. He was so friendly and funny and made you feel like you were sitting in his home kitchen. He loves his work and you can tell. Its places like Oak Hill Barbecue...these sweet walk-in, drive-by surprises that make you smile and love taking a chance on something different. I am really rooting for this place to make it. If I lived nearby (which sadly I dont) I would use them for all my catering, too. YOU WILL NOT REGRET EATING HERE. DO IT! <3 <3 <3

Geeezzz!!! Where to start? You start with the Fat Man himself, super personality. He is what all owners of businesses wish they could be. Proud of his product and obviously has the goods to back it up. Had the FatMan Special, chicken, pulled pork and brisket. Everything was moist and tasty. Brisket was off the chart for me. The couple next to me were a little shocked. No fork needed when eating good barbecue, its get down and dirty with your hands. No sauce for me, the purest experience is just the meat. You also get cheesy spaghetti, dirty beans, greens which were delicious, fried cabbage, Cole slaw, the one thing I didnt like was the marinated mix vegetables even though I ate them, just not my thing. Also you get a nice piece of cornbread. Wash it down with some sweet tea. All for less than 20 bucks. Great deal and great place. Go see the FatMan and tell him MRBARBQ1 sent you.

Brisket was dry and ribs were sub par. Service was slow and unorganized. Why the prices are the same, if not more than a sit down bbq restaurant is beyond me. If Im going to have to wait 30 minutes for cold fries and sub par food then I would like my drink at the time I order my overpriced food. With only 3 picnic tables you would think they would try to make the "inside seating" more comfortable. At least unzip the windows and clean the tables so they are not so sticky and gross. I had to give it 1 star just so I could write an honest review, and honestly I wouldnt even give it 1 star.

Out camping for the weekend and thought wed try it. The food was great. Brisket and chicken were delicious. The greatest part though... Self proclaimed "Fat Man," the owner. This guy had an amazing personality and sense of customer service the likes of which Ive never seen. He treated my son like family and even topped it off with a free giant popsicle because he ate good. Id return just to provide business to a great man who obviously cares deeply for those around him. If you doubt this, just go and see for yourself.

The Fat Man is someone every community should have! First the food there is amazing and Ive sent co-works from Columbus his way, as its that good... and Never heard anyone come back with anything but amazing. Second, he is a great down to earth caring man. I stopped by there for food and told him a story about my dog and not wanting to eat.. and he gladly sent him home with some gravy to entice my dog! Best BBQ hands down and a great man

But Im from Oklahoma and have lived in Kansas and this is THE BEST BBQ I have ever had!! Everything is authentic and amazing! I had the chicken drumsticks and Ive never had anything like them(Not Fried)! All of the sides are delicious(we got the fat man special) but I HIGHLY Recommend the smoked cabbage!!

The ribs are fall off the bone tender and delicious. The pulled pork is exellent. The cheesy spaghetti and the cornbread are perfect. What more can I say, oh, the owner is very kind and treats you special. He even made some sweet potatoes just for our 6 month old son to eat something from there too! Great job fat man. Can I suggest the great sauces to you too? Try them all. EVERYTHING here is homemade! Get here and come hungry

Living in the Sunbury area, I have eaten here a couple of times since they opened. The food is great and the service is awesome! Curbside service so I didnt have to stand outside in the cold with my two year old while we were waiting for our food to be ready. Their pulled pork and brisket is some of the best that I have had in a long time. Oak Hill is a hidden gem in Central Ohio! If you havent tried it yet, you need to!

My wife and I stopped in for the first time today for lunch and we thought it was great. I ordered the beef brisket sandwich w/ fries and my wife ordered the pulled port w/ fries. Both meats were great and the hand cut fries were nice and crispy. Their homemade vinegar and sauces were spot on and well be heading back soon to try more off the menu. I highly recommend stopping in and giving them a try!

This is a great local BBQ joint with lip smacking offerings!! If its your first time, the owner (Fatman) will give you a run down of the menu and quickly make you feel you are part of the family!! If you are looking to try something different the smoked cabbage and cheesy spaghetti are amazing! The Fatmans special is a great item too as it will give you a taste of everything!!

Food was excellent. We had wings, ribs, brisket, cabbage and cheesy spaghetti (so, yes almost everything). It was all good and the service was great. Atmosphere was nice and perfect for our mid-afternoon family outing. Cant wait to see the outdoor seating this spring/summer. Make sure to check out this hidden gem.

What a great lil find! We were shopping at the outlet mall and wanted something different (non-chain) and we ended up driving here. The owner, the fat man, makes everyone feel like a personal friend and the food is delishious! Nothing dried out about this BBQ! If I am down from Akron again I will surely stop!
