The location on Brice Rd. is very unprofessional. We made a reservation 2 weeks ago and verified that morning. We waited an hour to be seated. To move another family ahead of us, they miscounted our party. We were seated at 2 different tables. I ordered for my children and a second waiter came to the end of the table to ask my 7 year old son what he would like to drink. His Uncle told her that his parents had ordered for him. When he turned around she asked him again, but didnt order food for him. Why would he just be getting a drink? The chef dropped someones shrimp and said sorry I cant make anymore I cleaned the grill. When he gathered his things he told her that he was drunk. When we received our checks they gave my 7 year old son a bill for a chocolate milk. Wow! I spoke with a manager and she said the problem is he ordered it. I explained to her that his uncle said he was taken care of and she refused to listen. I called today to let her know that we were very upset, hoping for an apology. She said I was a liar and the chef was just joking. She was the owner and she was very rude. I advise you to choose another Hibachi grill because that was my first experience and I am turned off. We paid over $350 at our table and were treated horribly. I WILL NEVER RETURN and the chef doesnt add sahki to the tricks. You have to order it and you have to pay for them to song Happy Birthday. A real joke. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL ESTABLISHMENT.

8/15/2015 - my family and I visited this restaurant to celebrate my sons birthday. The problem began as soon as we walked through the door - as I was told my reservations were for 4:30 instead of our arrival time at 5:15 (the manager and I went back and forth on this). Because our party size was for 14 the manager did not believe she would be able to accommodate us because we would be split between two tables and they had several reservations for that evening. In summary, it turned out four members of our party was unable to attend so our party size was reduced to 10; therefore we were able to be seated. I noticed throughout our entire visit an entire section of the restaurant was empty; actually, we were there for almost 2 hours and the restaurant was never more than half full. I wondered the entire night why I had to encounter the controversy over the reservations....smh! In any event, the waitress and Chef were very nice and professional. The food was adequate (weve eaten at several Japanese Steakhouses) and thus far none of them have surpassed the House of Japan. Take my advice dont waste your time and if you do decide to go please make sure you double check your reservations.

Very interesting experience tonight. First, the chef was the best part if the evening. He was very personable, and funny. Second, the food was cooked very well, however the portions, especially the meat were very small for the price. Lastly, and unfortunately the waitress we had seemed very inexperienced, and was not very efficient at her job. The worst part of it was the waitress dumped her entire tray down my back. The only good part was the tray was just empty cups with ice in them. With that being said, she still dumped her tray down my back, dumping the ice down my back, and my pants. I think the initial shock of this happening kind of kept my reaction down, and I really was not hurt so I didnt make a fuss. However, the waitress nor the manager never even attempt to do anything for us. Now, I am not looking for handouts but when you have an incident like this happen you at the very least offer the customer a discount, or just comp the meal. But they did nothing like that. So, I am not sure I will ever return to this establishment.

The two stars are for their food only. I do like the Yum Yum Sauce, but other than that their food is just like any other Japaneses Steak House, and probably not as good as some in Columbus. I have been to both locations but my real problem is with the one on Sawmill. They gave huge portions to the kids who ordered "kids meals" and left mine and my fiances plates half as full as the childrens plates. One time our chef flirted with one girl the whole time and ended up giving her portions of our dinner, that of course she did not eat. I never can usually finish my meal at a Japanese Steak House, but I have been able to at this place twice, and my fiance left hungry once. Oh and everyone who says that complaining does not good, they are right, the managers dont care. Havent been back in over a year and do not plan on it.

Genji restaurant of Reynoldsburg is one of the worse restaurants I have ever been. I went there with my family for the first time for dinner and was woefully disappointed. The had a chef that was more interested in demonstrating his skills with knives and other utensils instead of serving us food. I paid for a steak dinner but ended up serving another guy the stake plus whatever he had ordered for his dinner. everything that was prepared on that table was in that guys plate. When I complained to the racist manager he taught I had eaten my food before complaining. I paid for dinner and had a bowl of rice served with salad dressing instead of source. I will not recommend Genji to my worst enemy.

The thing that sets this place aside from other Japanese steakhouses is its Yum-Yum dipping sauce. Really makes this place the best Japanese Steakhouse in Columbus. Other places try to copy the sauce but its not as good. When I go to other places that dont even try to copy the sauce I just wish I was at Genjis lol. The wait is very long for this place usually. Its always packed but the service is usually pretty good and entertaining. Dark Atmosphere. If you love the Yum-Yum so much like I do they do sell it by the bottle so you can take it home and cook your own food with yum-yum sauce!!

Food is absolutely delicious. Service was good and speedy, which is very important with two little kids. The entertainment was as expected with any hibachi grill. Only complaint is that the resturants carpet was extremely dirty. My dad owns a carpet cleaning business so I tend to notice before most people, so you may not even notice. That being said it was gross. Still would go back and their Genji Go is just as delicious without the show (& dirty carpet).

THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE!!!!!!! RUN! The food IS HORRIBLE! Their fried rice is just butter! They just put butter on everything! The food portions are as small as you can get and the food was burnt! My fiancee was not full after the dinner and I have never seen her finish her entire dinner anywhere! Please go someplace else! I thought this place was good after reading google reviews, but after going I see that no one would ever rate this place over 2 stars.
