I stayed here with my daughter for a college weekend for students who had been accepted. The Inn was our first impression of the college, and its low-class ambience really tainted the weekend. It was not until a second trip to campus (stayed somewhere else) that I could see that the campus and city were both lovely. The woman who checked us in was missing most of her teeth and her waist-length, stringy hair needed a good shampooing. I mean, she can dress as she pleases but she looked to be lacking in basic hygeine - not a desirable feature for someone representing the hotel. To enter, we had to walk past bunches of drunks standing outside the bar smoking. The rate of about $159 was obscene. I felt like I was in a cut-rate "No Tell Motel" - a place where they expect to never see you again so they dont care... a place where the staff is annoyed that youre there because it means they have to work. I will be making more trips to campus over the next 4 years. Ive made 3 others since that first trip and haved stayed at a B&B in town and 20 minutes away in Vermilion. The proximity to everything is NOT worth the horribleness at a premium price of this hotel.

Hate to weigh in negatively but... Ok, we made a reservation to stay here to visit our son over Easter. It would have been nice, when we made our reservation, that they suggest we make reservations for Sunday brunch. We didnt have them and couldnt eat there. Since we had to go elsewhere for Brunch I asked for a late check out. They wouldnt give it to us without charging for it. "Sorry, we are fully booked tonight". Its kind of like being told, I know you are here now but we have to worry about the people that arent here yet. They are the only game in town so I suppose they can get away with that. We wont be back.

Funky. Elegant place. Right on edge of campus and downtown. Friendly service. Restaurant (1833) has good food. Ate dinner and breakfast there. Very satisfied. Had drinks in the lobby bar. Centrally located. Full of people on a Friday night. Good people watching. Drinks not too pricy for a hotel like this. Has a basement performance space/lounge thats amazing. Live student performances many nights of the week. Caught a live jazz trio put on by Oberlin students. Free. Just had to pay for the drinks. Pretty cool.

We had a reservation for the bridal suite for over a year, and yet when we arrived we were told that another bridal party was staying in it that night. The service was awful and rude that entire night and next morning. We were so excited to stay here and get our bride ready for her big day and left with an extremely bad taste in our mouths. I would NOT recommend staying here until they figure out their attitude and their booking process, because it clearly does not work properly.

Me and my family stayed in the Hotel Oberlin overnight and was very pleased at the service and atmosphere of the new building. This hotel was in development for so many years and now it was finally complete. They have a very nice bar/restaurant in the lobby area where you buy drinks (they are not cheap) and appetizers. They also have a nice area where you can sit and converse while munching on your food. Otherwise, I would highly suggest staying at this hotel.

The old Oberlin Inn was one of our favorite placesfor brunch on the weekends.... food wasnt a five-star but the atmosphere was very warming and welcoming. ... and since the new hotel has opened we have been here three different times and I will tell you this will be the last place in oberlin I will ever come back for a breakfast very expensive. .slow service limited menue.. but again what do you expect from a hotel or motel trying to serve breakfast...

Obviously it is a old hotel and the facilities are old as well. They are currently building a new hotel/conference center rigth next to it. The construction sounds were quite annoying during the day time. The heating system was very poor and the nights were very cold. I wouldnt recommend staying during the winter. Besides that the rooms were spacious and the restaurant on the first floor was nice to dine.

Still under construction but barely noticed. Rooms are very very nice with really high ceilings. Bathroom is well designed with nice finishes. Some of the leed stuff is a bit over the top, our room never got down to our desired 68 degrees over the course of two days. The ceiling fan is a nice touch. Restaurant and bar are fantastic too. The nightstand has 6 outlets AND 6 USB ports!

My family and I attended a wedding reception here and were very, very impressed with the new look. The reception room was beautiful, the food was delicious, and the staff were friendly and professional. If I have any complaint at all, its simply that the room was a bit stuffier than I would have liked. However, the bride seemed happy, and that is all that matters on a wedding day!

Waaaaaaay off the tollway, but in the cute little college town. Still unfinished Hotel has great rooms. And a good bar. Clearly built for guests and small conventions at the college. Computer system messed up our reservation--manager said we were going to have to overpay, but it worked out in the end. Parking lot was under heavy construction so we had to park across the street.

Went for a large event, they couldnt control the temperature in the reception hall and it was WAY too hot. (Ended up happening in the rooms as well) Staff kept saying there was no control over it. Im noticing this as a common theme in their reviews. Awful considering we were evaluating it for a future venue. Very trendy setup but honestly thats all it has going for it.

Highly recommend the bisque soup-- delicious. Nice and friendly wait staff, nice environment, either really good food or really unimpressive. Ask if they are missing an ingredient (once when I was there they didnt have potatoes) and then avoid that and get something classic- like french toast- and you will get good food. Hit or miss, but if its good its delicious.

Made a reservation online and brought my dog. It had a very clear $0 charge next to that box. When I show up they charge me $75 extra and say it was part of "other fees may apply because its too hard to change the website". It felt like a "gotcha" moment. I dont mind the paying but it felt like a deliberate deception. $250 later......

The fancy geothermal heating and cooling did not hold up to a room full of 65 guests. The price for the room was high and the atmosphere sticky. The stairwells smelled of cement sealer. You are not allowed to bring in outside food or drink. Parking is also a bit of a nightmare, unless you like parking on the street.

Its very pretty and the rooms are nice, but theyre just not good at being a hotel. They have no organization to know when rooms are available or when check in is. We were told "five more minutes for a table" for about 20 minutes at breakfast before we gave up and went elsewhere.
