I am only giving them 5 stars so people see this. This was my first and last time eating at this place with my family. We picked up food, and spent over $60 between us. After 4 bites I found a bug in my food. I immediately called them and informed them of this, and that I was returning my pretty much non-eaten food. I was only given the option to get another meal from them. As if I wanted something else after discovering this bug on my first trip there. They told me they would not return my money for the meal, despite the fact my family wasnt even asking for their money back, and despite the fact they didnt even eat their food after seeing the bug in mine. I felt like that was the least they can do was give me my money back. I wanted nothing additionally. I barely ate any of the food before I found the bug. They refused my refund, and then accused me of putting the bug in my food!!!???? It took me threatening to go the customers currently about to eat there, for them to return my money. I will never eat at this dump ever again. Please be cautious eating their food, you never know whats in it!!!!!

The food here at North China is fairly good. We have been coming here for a number of years, and overall, the quality of food seems fairly consistent. Our visit here on 1/31/14 for the Lunar New year included the appetizer platter which has crab rangoon, fried wonton, spring roll, fried dumplings, beef on a stick and bbq ribs (flanken ribs) all of which were good. We then had kung pao chicken, which was good, and also a dish from their second seafood menu, called "Eight seafood dishes" which includes five types of seafood: squid, shrimp, scallops, mussels and sea cucumber, which we got ours customized as spicy and which was excellent.

The food at North China is what keeps us coming back, aside from its neighborhood convenience! After moving to Dayton, we tried several of the recommended Chinese restaurants with this making our top two of Chinese, along with CJ Chans. I would recommend everything I have tried including the Moo Shoo Chicken, Sweet and Sour Chicken, and Chicken and Vegetables. The service is also very accommodating - I have a terrible habit of ordering just about everything "my way", and they have ALWAYS gotten it right! Excellent service and surprisingly pleasing decor are the icing on the cake at North China.

Great Food! Great Service! Great Price! I had heard from people at my church that this restauant had really good food. My husband and I was really concerned because we love chinese food and being that we just moved to the area a year ago, we hadnt found a really, really good chinese restaurant in the area. After trying North China, we know that we have finally found our chinese restaurant. Food is excellent and the prices are definitely affordable... If you havent tried and rely on ratings before trying out a business, please trust me -- go check out North China Restaurant. None better!!!!

We ordered take out on Christmas Day. They were very fast at getting our order together. However, the potstickers were tough and the egg rolls were burnt! The Szechuan Chicken was mushy and had no flavor. We ordered it extra spicy and it had no spice at all. The chicken with vegetables had almost no sauce and, it too, was bland. My husband went to pick up the food and he stated that the plan was a dump inside. Yuck! In the end, it was a total waste of $45 because no one wanted to eat it. The entire meal ended up in the trash. Big flop, try China Cottage, they are the best.

I chose a seafood bird nest ,and my partener chose beef mein nest was a fried noodle nest with loads of scallops, shrimp, brown mushrooms and veggies did not disappoint, the beef lo mein was yummy beef tender and the sauce oola la.the atmosphere was cozy. Service doting. Will.come again sorry I waited so long to try .

We were recently told about North China and thought wed give it a try. Kettering isnt known for having great Chinese places but this place is really nice. The food amounts are enough for lunch the next day. The food is always hot and the tastes are extremely good. The service here is phenomenal. We just went here a second time and the service was just as good on this visit as well. We had the same waiter and he even remembered us after having only been there once before. Well definitely be back!

Ordered Moo shu chicken, garlic chicken and sweet and sour chicken. The moo shu was under flavored compared to the other restaurants; plenty of tender chicken, but under flavored. The garlic chicken was good, a bit soupy. The sweet and sour chicken for my 6 & 3 year olds was over cooked and tough. They would not eat it and after I tried it i did not expect them to. The fried rice was also under flavored, bland. The best part of the meal was the egg rolls - very tasty.

Excellent service! The waiters are very quick, but they could most definitely use a bit of an attitude/happiness booster. For the price you pay, you arent going to get any better than this. They could up the cleanliness of their dishes and utensils (minus a star) as I have had several occasions where I was given a dirty cup, plate, and/or utensil. Besides this factor, North China is definitely a star in this community!

North China is our "go to" restaurant. We have been coming here since it opened and love the food, people and service. You cant ask for anything more. Reasonably priced, large portions and fantastic flavors. My husband is hooked on the szechuan chicken and I rotate between several different ones plus making myself try something new every so often. not sure what to try next? ask Wendy or George for a recommendation!

I love this place and the family that runs it. I have always had great service and food all the years I have been going to North China. The food quality has stayed high over these many years unlike some other Chinese restaurants "China Cottage". I love the Szechuan chicken and the portion size is great and you cant beat the price. North China keeps doing what they do best, good food with a smile at a low price.

The best Chinese food in town. They are a bit of a hole in the wall but that just seems to make it better. Whenever my family wants Chinese this is the place we go. They have great sit-down service as long as the line isnt too long. Or if not in the mood to go out the takeout is just as good. They are my reference for all other Chinese food and I have never been anywhere that has been better!!!

Phenomenal service with great food! Definitely a prime place to get the best of both grades at a standard Chinese restaurant. Edit #1 While the service and food is good, I have noticed that their tableware could use some better cleaning. I come here often and there have been numerous times where one of my companions or myself have to switch silverware and such for clean ones.
