This was the worst food I have had in a long time. We packed our baby up in the car to go place a to go order before the dinner rush. Our order was kind of big, a burger, steamed vegies, potato fries, a wrap burrito thing that was supposed to be dairy free, and an artichoke heart. The cashier was very polite and offered to have them steam our veggies extra so the baby could eat them. The dairy free burrito thing didnt seem to be a problem to her. We sat down and waited and watched several people that ordered after us get their food first. No big deal. When our food finally came, we were rushed out of our seat by other hungry guests. Time from receiving order to time of getting home. 11 minutes. My burger was terrible. Everything was mushed and soggy, and it was drenched in mustard and mayo. Drenched. Our sweet potato fries were cold. The veggies werent steamed extra at all. I had to cook them myself which was not why we decided to do carryout. The artichoke... I thought terrible, my wife said it was fine. Her burrito was great, but it made my wife sick. The one with the dairy allergy that we told the cashier about. She even put it on the order. No details, but what happens when she eats dairy is always the same. Northstar lost 3 customers yesterday.

Ill break this Northstar Review into 3 Sections: Food, Location, Service Food: I would give the food itself 5 Stars, Their breakfast/lunch menu is great and Ive yet to be disappointed with it. Their Dinner menu is also really good! Ive had both their burgers and their fish sandwich and would recommend them. The price of the food may seem a little bit to expensive to some people, but everything tastes extremely fresh and everything is local and they make the bread themselves! So youre definitely getting what youre paying for. Great, fresh tasting food. Location: If youve been to the Northstar downtown, this one is a lot easier to access. It has a parking spot right behind it. The interior is also spacious so even though it gets jam packed there are many areas to sit in and even a nice outdoor section. Service: Northstar does an amazing job at hiring their staff. They are extremely friendly and provide great customer service.

It gets two stars for the nice people and the clean environment. Maybe Im not the right person to review this because I dont like these haughty type of restaurants which are trying to sell a way of life or an attitude instead of just selling good food. I dont think eggs should ever cost $13 unless someone had to hand-massage the chickens backside in order to get it out. Either way, the food was okay, but in retrospect my poached eggs which looked more like over-easy eggs were not even half as good as ones I have had at a random Scrambler Maries. Thats pathetic for a restaurant with 8 chefs out in the open.

Food is always top-notch, but the music was incredibly loud today for some reason. Everyone had to scream to have a conversation which just made it worse. Have been to concerts at the Newport that werent so ear-bleeding loud. Just WHY? Pretty much ruined the experience. Two servers told me theyd turn it down, but it never happened. A third told me "we have to keep it this loud. Were not allowed to turn it down." There is no logical reason why anyone would play music so loud in a place like this, and its never been an issue in the past. Im genuinely confused.

Terrible service. Called ahead for take out. Asked for a basic cheeseburger. Employee repeated it as the Northstar Burger. I corrected him as my boyfriend wanted MEAT. Told them to make the fries ahead (NOT wait until I got there). When I went for pickup, waited in line forever, they had my name wrong so finding my order added to the wait, they had not made the fries (so ALL of our food was cold) AND they still put a Northstar burger in the order instead of a basic cheeseburger. Too many mistakes in one experience tells me this is a management issue.

The food is great, the staff is the friendliest in Columbus, the music is eclectic, the surroundings pleasant: what more do you want? Try the best veggie burger in town, the Northstar burger. Its mildly spicy and goes great with the lettuce and cabbage salad with which it is served. The salad dressing is quite yummy, too. For the alcoholically-inclined, they make a terrific Mojito. If you dont want alcohol, then ask for the home-made ginger ale. Ive never been disappointed at Northstar (and Ive been there a lot).

Waited in a long line, which we were prepared for, but we tipped the maximum amount when ordering, to receive an incorrect cold burrito. The person taking the order asked if we wanted tofu, we said no, and we received one anyways. It seemed as if it had been sitting for a while after waiting 20 min for it to be brought lut. No one came by to ask us how our meal was in the 30 min we were there after. Will not be returning to this location again. Tipping prior to service is a rip of and should be disposed of.

Im from Atlanta and decided to stop in with my wife before we fly back to Atlanta. Everything about this restaurant is incredible. As you walk in there are mugs and coffee so you can have a cup of coffee while you decide on what your going to order. The service is exceptional, the people are very friendly and helpful. The food is delicious. I ordered the cowboy and my wife ordered the sweet potato turkey hash. Very well flavored food. Highly recommend the restaurant to everyone!

For me the atmosphere was relaxing yet trendy, but not obnoxiously so. Slightly understated. The food I had was 100% up to par, prepared appropriately. I caroused the list of beverages and spotted house made ginger ale. $3.50 for a single soda? By far, this is my new favorite craving, and speaking for myself it was even worth springing for a second glass. Fresh squeezed lime and muddled mint leaves. Not necessarily the cheapest, but absolutely worth it for a good evening out.

I went to Northstar Cafe with my friends for dinner and had a great experience with a tasty BBQ Chicken Flatbread, a chocolate cookie, and a hot chocolate. The flatbread was excellent and filling, the hot chocolate was well made with a nice mix of spices added and was cut with cream, and paired well with my cookie. Prices are definitely fair for the organic, freshly made food youre getting and the good environment and service thats provided. Would go again.

The prices have been steadily rising, which I could accept if the food quality stayed consistent. But it has not. The breakfast burrito used to be made with perfectly poached eggs, and now they do it with some slimy, mushy scrambled mess that looks and tastes like it came from a plastic pouch. Gross. There are many other locally owned places that still use quality ingredients made with care for far more reasonable prices in the area.

The food Ive had here is pretty average, and for the price Id say its below average. The customer service is awesome, Ill give them that. They messed up our order once and more than made up for the error. Ive had $6 burgers that were far better than their $15 burger though. They have a lot of vegetarian and vegan options so maybe its good for that kind of stuff. Id say its pretty overrated from my experience.
