Im not sure why there are poor reviews of this place. My husband and I live right down the street and either dine in or carry out once a week. Weve had both breakfast and dinner and have not been disappointed with either. It is family owned and is one of the few places where the young servers are sweet and familiar (opposed to the aloof or "dont want to be here attitude" of the typical college aged server). I dont understand why people are bent out of shape about the fact that its next to a gas station or that its not dressed to the 9s inside...its a small hometown diner in the heart of Clintonville!!! Places like Nancys and the like get rave reviews and have no parking, less-than-friendly service, and even less atmosphere. Maybe you need to be a "regular" to appreciate this place...we are always welcomed like friends and love the food. As one other reviewer mentioned, the Saturday chicken dinner special is delicious. My husband often gets the burger with fries and has always enjoyed it. As far as breakfast goes, we like several items, but particularly the tex mex omlet, biscuits and gravy, and the lox with bagel. As far as price, I think its right in line with any other diner in Columbus and I believe you are getting what you pay for. Its not often that we can even finish our meals, so portion size has not been an issue for us. So, kudos Wildflower. My husband, I, and many others will continue to visit :-)

I dont review many places, but Im a lifetime Wildflower loyalist. I bussed tables here in High School, and even though Ive moved away a bunch of times, this place always feels like coming home. I eat here once a week now, always breakfast, always the hash. Its the only restaurant, anywhere Ive lived, thats got that kind of steady business from me over decades. Wildflower is an almost Jiro-like situation where somebody found a form they loved, and lovingly work to perfect that form every day. Heres the best part: anybody who had a negative experience here brought it on themselves, because even though the workers at wildflower are human, and have their rough days or their blind spots, you can always flag someone down, bring an issue to their attention, and get it fixed. Friendliness, service, and accountability are and always have been an implicit part of the culture at Wildflower. Its one of the things Ive missed most about it at various jobs over the years.

This was the smallest, most wimpy, and overpriced breakfast I have ever eaten in my adult life. For around $11-12 I got a child-sized portion of nasty corned beef hash from a can with 2 eggs. Actually, it was probably smaller than child sized. For $3 more I received about half of one small potato sliced and somewhat fried. Long story short: This place will be happy to serve you a $3.99 breakfast for about triple that price. It was the equivalent of going to a bar, ordering a large mug of beer (for a couple bucks more thay youd usually pay) and then they bring you a 5oz. champagne flute of pbr. I ate, and then left here thinking of where I could go eat. Ridiculous. I would never even consider going back here again, unless it was to explain to them what a real breakfast looks like.

My first visit to this cafe will result in a second, and probably many visits. The location is surprisingly easy to find, with ample parking right out front, and very close to the freeway exit at Cooke Road. They opened promptly at 7:00 a.m. The service was excellent, never an empty cup, and the food arrived quickly on heavy warmed plates. Their menu is simple, but thorough, with all the standard breakfast fare, and a few pleasant surprises. I enjoyed the skillet scrambler, and it was delicious. The potatoes were cooked well, not over done, but could use a little spice in my opinion. This is a warm and friendly location with a classic diner counter and heavy wood tables. We could comfortably stay there for hours.

After hearing raves about this cafe, I was surely disappointed. As noted below, the service was slow and inattentive. My soup was lukewarm and the sandwich was tasteless. My dining partner had the hamburger which he said was very good, but the fries that were supposed to come with it were replaced with chips that the server didnt acknowledge until he was almost finished. The cafe is not very clean, walls are smudged with food and greasy fingerprints, floors and corners are grimey. I watched our server wipe a table with a gray dishrag and then reach into the cookie case and pick out a cookie with a bare hand and serve it to another customer. Wont be going back.

The food here is amazing. Most entrees are around $10, which is a very good price for the quality of the food. The portions are quite acceptable, not overly large, which is a good thing, but you wont go hungry. They have daily specials which are amazing and an exceptional value. Location is easy to get to, though not all that attractive as its set back behind a giant sea of asphalt, which I suppose motorists might find appealing, since theres plenty of parking, but no bike racks, which is odd for it being a Clintonville establishment.

Very creative Sunday brunch in Clintonville! We tried steak and eggs (steak grilled perfectly) and salad nicoise. The brunch menu carries a lot of traditional breakfast and lunch items, but everything is made with fresh ingredients and prepared with creative details. The only thing I regret is that I didnt already give this cosy neighborhood place a try years ago, when I moved to the area. Dont let the old-fashioned sign or the Bob-Evanish interior fool you. The food and service are great!

Just ate there for the 1st time (we did lunch) & it was amazing! Got 2 turkey deli sandwichs, 1 sweet potato fries (1st time ever) & 2 drinks & the bill came to about $25 for the 2 of us (b4 tip). They are reasonably priced ( u want a cheap bill, get fast food), the atmosphere was relaxed/homey & the wait staff is super friendly (thanx Joe!). Will definitely be going back ☺

This place is awful. First it is way overpriced for being next to a gas station. Second, it feigns this community feeling when in actuality its a dump. Been here for breakfast and dinner. Breakfast was cold and tasteless. Dinner mediocre at best. The burger is made to whatever the cook, not you would hope for. I will say that the desserts were good, but not worth the price.

My food came out with unmelted cheese on the eggs and undercooked potatoes. The muffin was going stale. I sent it back and it took 10-15 minutes. Everything was overcooked. Our waitress was cleaning the windows and chatting instead of checking on us to see how our food was. Ive heard three other stories just like this. I dont even think they have a manager. I wont go back.

Very quaint and homey. I went for breakfast and it was Its everything you would expect from a home cooking type of place. Ok food, ok service, not the best coffee. For a small place they have a large breakfast menu with a lot of variety. I really like that they offer a gluten free toast option! It was so great to have bread with my eggs.
