Unfortunately my review was severely down graded to one star due to the way one manager very unprofessionally handled a very manageable situation. My boyfriend & I decided we wanted to have a nice steak dinner together tonight and saw this place was near us at Polaris and had promising reviews. We were enjoying our appetizer and had great service from our wait staff. I ordered the chile rubbed delmonico(ribeye) and my boyfriend ordered the ribeye. When we received our steaks mine was perfect but my boyfriend (who previously worked at a steak house) took a couple bites of his and realized it was lean and cut resembling a New York strip steak. He called over the wait staff and two agreed that they also thought it was a New York strip steak and very kindly offered to bring him a replacement and promised the ribeye that he ordered. Two minutes later a large, bald, white man who I am assuming was the manager (as he did not introduce himself) came to the table. His first words to us were oddly "What can I get for you?" We looked at him confused and he repeated himself until we realized he was the manager and we told him that the we had already been taken care of and that we had another cut on the way. He proceeded to tell us that we were wrong and that the steak we received was a tear drop ribeye and we said we were sorry for the confusion. He then returned to our table with my boyfriends original plate and proceeded to point at the parts of the steak telling us we were wrong and that the second steak we were going to receive would look exactly the same and told us not to be disappointed the next time. We tried to remain calm during the worst costumer service I had ever received. We waited patiently for 20 minutes for the new steak. Then he brought the new steak and stood over my boyfriend hovering and said "Now is this perfect for you? Cut into it, lets see if its perfect for you. Hows it look? Does it look perfect enough?", In a very condescending sarcastic tone. A random server then came and apologized for us not being able to eat dinner together (as I had finished my steak 15 minutes before he received his new one) and offered me a dessert. I declined but was very happy with the way he handled the situation. The way anyone with common sense, kindness, and an ounce of costumer service experience would have handled it. Also, my boyfriend went to the restroom after he finished his meal and saw the manager drinking a beer at the bar while he was working. Neither of us were surprised as he had already proved to us how unprofessional of a manager he is. I am angry and upset that this simple situation that could have easily been solved was handled badly by one person and he will be the reason we will not be returning.

Last night my mother and I had dinner at the Polaris Mall location. Loved the exterior and interior decor. The hostess was on the phone when we walked in. We waited and waited for her to finish the call. She hung up and continued to look down and didnt glance at us. A very nice gentleman waiter came over and seated us. I should note that we were the only people in the place at this time (5:15 p.m.). Our waitress came over (never introduced herself). She immediately asked if we were ready to place our food order. We said we needed a couple of minutes and she got our drinks. We placed our order and she brought bread shortly after. The bread was so hard to cut through! The knife slipped several times and the outside crust was hard to eat through, inside was great. We sat and sat and waited on our food. Soup came out on time. We were told that our food would be out soon and we sat for 35 extra minutes waiting for our salad entrees. The waitress brought our food. My mom liked hers a lot but it was apparent that the salads had been sitting b/c the dressing soaked through the lettuce. Our waitress said that the kitchen staff dropped one of my fried chicken and would bring one out soon as replacement (I never got it and it was never mentioned again). She didnt refill my drink until my mom asked her to and then she brought the wrong drink (which she eventually realized and replaced). She also spilled wine and beer all over the floor by us and it came up onto my booth seat. She never wiped it up. When the waiter and our waitress was done mopping it up with a rag she went to the bar and never washed her hands after touching the floor. We got our bill promptly and paid. While we were still sitting at the table she took the paid bill that included tip, looked at it and frowned our way. I wanted to love this place but it falls very short for the pricing and expectations of most people in this area. I would recommend J. Alexanders, Longhorn or J. Gilberts for the same price and excellent service every time. This place is going to get eaten alive in this area if this is the standard for this chain.

I made a reservation as a veteran for veterans day for 8:00 PM.We were greeted at door and we stated we had an 8:00 reservation and the girl looked as if we could not have had a reservation for that time, she then looked at the list and realized we did have a 8:00 pm reservation. We then asked if we could have Patio seating, the girl at the desk said it was too windy because two other people had asked to be seated inside after being seated on the patio and would we like seating inside instead. We felt we had no other choice so, we accepted dining inside which was our second choice since we enjoy patio dining, how ever we found that dining inside was much colder then we desired. The waiter was occupied with other duties as their were long delays in his service between reception, drink orders, meal orders, and meal deliveries. I ordered prime rib that day as I had eaten prime rib at Firebirds twice before and though it was the best I had ever eaten, I might add my wife ordered the prime rib as well, however when we received our meals the Prime ribs were cold and mine looked very pale/anemic and they also sent the wrong potato side, the server recovered without asking and quickly came out with a separate corrected side for me. The prime ribs for me and my spouse being cold, we than had the staff to remedy the temperature and they apparently microwaved them and returned them to up to eat. My prime rib was very tough/solid and very hard to masticate and my spouses was just OK. We skipped dessert our favorite part of the meal as it was getting late and the restaurant staff seemed to be occupied with other things. I am very sorry I have to give such a negative review since I have enjoyed my six other dining experiences at Firebirds.

My wife and I have been to Firebirds 4 times since they opened. The first 2 visits were okay, unremarkable, but not bad. Food was average tasting, over-priced, and not very imaginative. Service was just okay. Funny note on our first visit; They gave my wife a card to fill out to get on their mailing list. She filled it out and gave it back to the waitress. She never heard anything further. I filled out the same information a week later on their website and received instant emails ever since. They appear to be disorganized all the way around. On the the 3rd visit, our son went with us. The food was again okay. This time they had expanded their beer selection a little...an adequate selection of bottled beer. Our 4th and final visit was horrible. Both of us were served cold food. A cold steak? Really? The place wasnt even 1/4 full, so they werent exactly busy. I probably could have eaten it cold, but there was so much salt on everything that it was pretty much inedible. I ate a few bites and called it a day. Same story with my wifes order, coated in salt. She had a mixed drink that was made with very little alcohol, but at premium pricing. To put it as nicely as I can, there are simply too many really good restaurants in the Columbus area to bother patronizing bad ones. Even though Firebirds is only 5 minutes from our home, we will not go there again. I think four visits to Firebirds is sufficient to parse out if they are good or not.
