We used to go to Tay-Do in the 90s - it was much, much bigger and a large family all worked there - the food was truly wonderful and the menu much, much bigger with more variety and serving only Vietnamese food. We tried so many things and they were all great. We were disappointed to return after 8 years away from the area to find that the dining room had shrunk to barely a storefront, the menu, like the restaurant itself, was 1/4 the size and all of the dishes we really loved, the simmering whole fish hot pots, the wonderful seafood stirfry known only as "G6" on the menu were gone, replaced by a lot of Chinese items. We ordered Pho and even that was kind of disappointing after spending years in Hawaii where there is no shortage of every Asian cuisine imaginable. The atmosphere is dim and shabby, the food was OK but not great, and the energy of the old place, with its huge karaoke screen, vietnamese music all the time, and family operation of young people working the tables, older people working the kitchen, small children darting here and there, was just gone. I will go there for Pho because there are so few places to get it, but I really wish the old place was still around. Going there actually made me a little sad.

So long story short, I am here for an internship over the summer and I am looking for a great pho place while in Cleveland. So, I went to Taydo and they charged me $2 more for pho. They were rude. The lady was telling me how to eat the pho (I eat pho every week, so I guess she thought I did not know how to because I am African American) and telling me to eat it quickly. The lady stared at me the WHOLE TIME while I was eating. That made me feel uncomfortable and made me feel even more hurried to get out of there. She cleaned up , collected the bill, looked to see what I tipped her etc, while I was still sitting down. They asked where I lived and worked and when I told them where, they thought I was lying. I asked for chop sticks, for whatever reason, they did not give me any which was weird. When I asked for the chop sticks, she looked at me surprisingly like she could not believe I knew what a chop stick was. Overall, what I am saying, is that they seemed very racists. YES, African Americans love to eat pho too. I will not be spending my money here anymore.

If you want truly great Vietnamese food at a great value, this place is it. Its one of our favorite asian restaurants in the entire Cleveland area. In fact, Id say its the best and most authentic vietnamese restaurant I have been to anywhere in the US. Be aware that its not a visually appealing restaurant, so if thats important to you, this may not be the best choice for you. Also, its truly a mom & pop restaurant, with pop cooking and mom serving. Thats it...there are no other employees. As a result, service can be slow, even if theres just a few other clients in the restaurant. Theres also a bit of a language barrier. But if youre not in a rush, you arent there for the decor, and are patient with the language barrier, this is a fantastic restaurant.

This is the first place Ive ever had pho... The pho is always hot and delicious... The fresh spring rolls and fried spring rolls are always really good too... Ive had various dishes at this restaurant and all where delicious I suggest trying the tofu onion and ginger dish and also the fried pad thai noodles the only drawback is sometimes a service can be very very slow understandably the two people who own the business are older gentleman and lady but theyre very sweet and kind and if youre willing to wait you will have a happy tummy in the end... Ive been a patron to this restaurant for well over 10 years

2nd worst Vietnamese restaurant in Cleveland, after Minh Anh. Its not because I was spoiled by eating pho in California and Hawaii. The pho here was of sickeningly poor quality, broth flavor was not even close, and it was greasy. The rudeness was ridiculous. Being hassled for 5 minutes about paying with a credit card for a $25 meal is poor form. This restaurant should be classified as Chinese, not Vietnamese. We walked out of there wishing we could erase that experience from memory. NEVER AGAIN.

This restaurant is operated by a husband/wife team with the husband cooking and the wife being the sole server. So sometimes service can be slow but they are very nice. And more importantly the food is outstanding! This is not a pretty restaurant but its clean and friendly with truly great food that is not expensive. Ive been eating there for 3 years now and have tried many dishes. Order #18 if they can make it......the crepe is excellent! And their tofu is the best Ive had anywhere.

Simple food made with love. This place is easy to discount as a dive. The restaurant is in a little strip mall and it would be easy to write it off, but dont. I have order several different dishes and never had a complaint about any. They are simple, the type of stuff you could make at home but that is the beauty of the place is home cooking at its best.

I love the food. I got the chicken pho And my husband got the some other noddle dish and it was fresh and delicious. Their customer service skills are lacking but I think the language barrier is the reason. They arent rude just not very friendly but they made up for it with the food.

The only people working here are the lovely couple who own the place. Theyre just the nicest, the food is always good and authentic. They take cards but cash is preferred, as the husband has to step away from the stove in order to run cards.

Very evident the food is made to order and it is authentic! Reminds me so much of my moms cooking! A mom-pop shop for sure and the restaurant is aesthetically simple. The food is the highlight which it should be!

I have dined an many Vietnamese restaurants in several major city’s and the food here is highly competitive with any of them. The service was minimal and the décor abysmal but I plan on going back!

Best ever! Continue to provide the best food and great prices. I recommend it to all my friends. You have to be willing to wait while the food is prepared. It is definitely worth it. Amazing!

In view of dining room, very modestly, and the usual prices, like everywhere else) Runs 1 waitress grandmother, who even in English does not speak and barely sees

Used to be great. They switched to Uncle Bens in place of jasmine rice. Eliminated the Chinese menu, so the choices are fewer. Really miss the way things used to be 5 years ago.
