More than a few people have mentioned their hesitancy to try Thai Gourmet due to it being located in a strip mall. What makes this funny is that not only is this area a white collar business district where doctors and lawyers eat lunch, but nearly everything else is this strip mall is a restaurant of some sort as well. Gone are the days when people should be afraid to eat in a strip mall as there are many high-class restaurants that hide in joints that dont look too fancy. Thai Gourmet is not exact of that high-class strip mall category but it certainly isnt a dive. The interior and ambiance are nice enough that you can take a date there and not be embarrassed or feel like youve gone too authentic. As far as our actual dining experience.... upon walking in for the first time, I began to think twice about our choice of dining when we looked upon a ghost town. It was a prime dining hour on a weekend and not a single soul was in sight. This is generally not a good sign. However, Ive had this same experience at Bac (one of my favorite restaurants in the Cleveland area) so we didnt abandon our plan. Our server was an elderly white man who was not extremely attentive or friendly considering we were his only table to worry about. He had a strike against him as a white male in a Thai restaurant already but he otherwise may have made up for that in personality - however, he never even made the attempt. As far as the food is concerned, my wife and I ordered the Thai Potstickers ($7) as an appetizers and then shared our main dishes which were the Green Curry with chicken ($12) and something called Governor Chicken ($12). The Potstickers themselves were slightly odd in flavor, however, the cucumbers and sauce they were served in were delightful and I would have actually preferred it as a cucumber salad minus the potstickers. The Green Curry had very good flavor and just the right amount of heat - however, I have two minor complaints: the curry was too watery, and they used regular garden peas rather than a more Asian option like sugar peas. Normal American peas make me think of a Mormon moms casserole, not a Thai Green Curry. The Governor Chicken was okay but tasted much like the sweet entrees youd find at a Chinese buffet - a little too sugary and certainly not homemade. Overall, I was moderately satisfied with our meal but probably wont make this a regular choice for dining out as it was slightly too expensive for the quality of food we got and the service was hardly inviting.

Rockside Corners is a bustling strip mall with many restaurants, and always full of people. Its a fine location for this Thai place. The decor is upscale for such a small little joint. You can tell they are going the extra mile to provide a good dining experience. Their currys are excellent. Pad thai is very good. Vietnamese noodle soup is very good & traditional. They have a wide variety of coconut-based dishes and all are tasty. Salt and pepper shrimp appetizer is fantastic. I had a curry duck which was also quite good. They also have your standard Chinese fare such as Generals chicken etc. but why bother when they have such good Thai fare? Presentation is excellent. This would be a good place to take a date. Pricing is very reasonable, < $50 for 2 entrees, appetizers and drinks. Lunch can be had for around $10.

We decided to try this place based on all of the positive reviews and were really disappointed. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, but the food just wasnt that great. Condiment containers on the table seemed sticky. Pad Thai was the worst version of that dish Ive encountered. The only flavor in the soup we got was salt. And the larb was made with dried mint. It also didnt help that a couple at another table was watching a video on a phone with the volume cranked up. Most restaurants would have made them turn it off, but no one said a thing.

A small quiet place. But the food is fair. I ordered a basil shrimp. There are about nine shrimps in the plate coming with a small bowl of steamed rice. The shrimps are overcooked and too much soy sauce is added. To me the food was not prepared professionally and it tastes nothing but soy sauce. Price listed in the menu is $16 but for some reason I was charged for $18. Overall this is a below average Thai restaurant and the fair food is way overpriced. Not recommended.

My girlfriend and I really enjoyed Thai Gourmet. The 14-15 table restaurant is tucked away in the Rockside Corners plaza and was a pleasant surprise. There did not appear to be a lunch menu but everything was reasonably priced. We had the Avocado Curry and Pad Thai with Thai Tea. The food was great and served quickly. We were in and out in 45 minutes, perfect for lunch. The granite tables and simple decor was welcome and welcoming. I would recommend.

We just thought of trying a new place while driving by, since we moved in the nearby area recently. We got the food almost in 5 to 7 minutes so we could spend more time enjoying the food and the ambiance. We had Chicken Red Curry and the Curry Chicken Fried Rice. They were delicious, cooked the right way with right spices. The prices were decent and the quantities generous. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a change of taste.

Not be rude, but how does this place have good reviews? Everything is obviously frozen.. from the potsickers, to the frozen nonorganic vegetables and cheap frozen low quality chicken in my entree.. service was fine but we saw one employee the entire time we were here.. he did everything, host/server/Cleaning/phones/etc. Message to the owner: use fresh ingredients! Take pride in your establishment. We will not be back.

Service is the worst. I expect a level of politeness from serving staff, but the small Asian server is deluded into thinking he is charming. Under the guise of humor he is terribly insulting. Even after I made it clear that I wasnt interested in this, he would still "joke". I can get mediocre, overpriced Thai somewhere else without the social buffoonery!

When I worked in the area I ordered from here once, sometimes even twice a week. Occasionally would dine in but I always had a great experience. I have not been able to find a place that has Pad Thai or Chicken Lo Mein since as good as I had here since. I have never had anything here I did not enjoy and the price is not bad at all for the quality you get.

This place is great. Friendly, quick sevice and some of the best curry Ive ever had. Ive tried every curry and now I always order the masaman curry. Not sure why another reviewer said that the veggies are frozen they are always fresh and crunchy. The food is very pleasing to a vegan like myself. I love, love, love this place.
