I googled Café Tandoor to get their phone number and was astonished at the terrible reviews I found. Ive been going here for several years and I definitely havent found the food less appetizing over time. Their curry is flavorful and their naan is incredible! Im obviously not Indian, but I love Indian food, and Ive eaten at many Indian food places all over the country. This is definitely one of the best. Ask for spicy if you want spicy! I think theyre a little used to unadventurous American customers, so they err on the side of unspicy. Theyre not dirt cheap but its worth the price once in a while. Give em a try!

I have been to this place 3 times... yeah... just to try other entrées because i always think there might be something good... but there isnt any here.... The guy comes with a small funny cart...that reminds me of culture in rajasthan...but the food is no way Indian... I guess they use hot sauce instead of chillies... n hardly any salt... So my taste buds were very un-happy... plus you have no free parking, all spots are metered... cmon.. you got a restaurant... get some free parking guys... The restaurant is clean, nice ambiance, music...but i aint going for just that.. i need the full package!

Cafe Tandoor is pretty solid as far as local Indian restaurants go. The food is quite tasty, especially (and perhaps unsurprisingly) the tandoor dishes. Ive never seen biryani served with a heavy, creamy curry sauce before, but it was also good (if a bit odd). Service and prices are so-so (be forewarned: you do have to pay extra for rice, which is rather strange). One of the best things about the restaurant is that the kitchen is actually capable/willing to adjust spice levels all the way from true "gringo mild" to ultra-fiery (be sure to put the TP in the freezer for tomorrow morning).

Ive been to many Indian restaurants in the US (Akron, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Chicago, Nashville, NYC etc.) in the past three years. Few of them were OK but most of them were bad especially when it comes to non-veg cuisines. Tandoor cafe didnt disappoint me. The ambiance was good, service was excellent, waiter was very friendly and FOOD was awesome! I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Although I had good experiences in Chicago and NYC but still this is my favorite Indian restaurant so far.

I would like to give a 3.5 but I cant justify 4. The staff was friendly and nice. Couple of the Chicken pakora were still cold inside, we were too hungry not to eat them. For $14.50 entree you dont get rice which surprised me because Ive never been to an Indian restaurant that charged $14.50 without the rice. The food was okay, the naan was good.

A well modernized version of an Indian restaurant. They serve their food family style and spice the food according to the person ordering it. The wait staff was knowledgeable, friendly, pushy, and fast. The food was in moderate sizes, enough to fill one person, or enough to share around the table. The atmosphere was mild and relaxing.

This is a horrible indian restaurant. The first indian restaurant I know who doesnt serve rice, bread or even papad with their curries. They cost an arm and leg and even the quality is not authentic. DO NOT GO HERE, its a rip off. I wish I can score it 0 stars but I am forced to give them at least 1 because they didnt poison me.

After reading the reviews i decided to take my chances and took my friend family with me and we ordered Tandoori Chicken, Malai Kofta and Veg Biryani...none of the items are good. We wasted 80% of the food. Food is completely americanised. My $50.00 got wasted. Ambeince is good, service is good but food is not good.

Indifferent servers and sub par food. If you pay $15 for a meal you should not also have to pay $4 for a small amount of rice. I paid $15 for my meal, 4 for bread and 4 for rice. Thats 23 + tax + tip + beverages for one person. My bill was over $40! Ridiculous! There should be complimentary rice at least.

My review is to just say people that it is not an original Indian restaurant that they dont even have an Indian chef and that not the way an Indian restaurant thinks all about money aside of customer satisfaction. I recommend you guys PLEASE DONT GO. We ordered for a spicy food which is so sweet.

Keep away from this restaurant. They serve lousy food and charge the price of an upscale restaurant that offers high quality food. Naans looked and tasted like they were aged atleast by one day. I dont know who wrote good reviews here, but, they certainly dont deserve it.

Got takeout chicken korma from here--the sauce was flavorless and watery, and the chicken was dry and tasted like it came out of a can. I dont know if the in-restaurant food is better, but this was very disappointing. Trader Joes microwave Indian dishes are superior.

One of my favorite restaurants since 2003 but it does seem like the quality has gone down the last few years. Everything is al a carte now. The last experience was not that good but the food was ok. I might give them one more try since I dont go there often..

Cafe Tandoor is highly Americanised and DOES NOT servce authentic Indian Food. The food is expensive and serving sizes are very small, this makes the experience even worse. If you are looking for genuine Indian cusine please dont waste your money here.

Weve been here multiple times and the food Is Always great. Family style, with many different offerings. A pretty decent drink menu as well. The food is cooked to order, so expect a wait for it, but it is guaranteed worth the wait.

Quite possibly the worst Indian food Ive ever had in my life in any city. Tasteless naan. A lamb curry floating in gravy!? Just disgusting. Surreal almost how awful it tastes. Ordered the lamb shahi korma and garlic naan.

This is my favorite Indian restaurant in Cleveland! The food selection is great and reasonably priced. They even offer some halal dishes! The service is great and parking was very easy to find.

Dinners have been reliably tasty. Staff were always been pleasant and helpful. I have always picked up take away orders at the small bar but the dining room looks nice and is a good option.

Ordered in delivery. Food was bland. Meat quality was poor. Tikka Masala tasted like thick tomato soup. Over priced and the dishes didnt even include rice! Ridiculous.

Thus place has some of the best curry around. Its never super crowded and the menu is reasonably priced to the proportions.
