This is the kind of place you see on kitchen nightmares. The atmosphere and decor match the food, stale, lacking in cleanliness and theme. We tried this place Easter morning, it was one of the few things open and we were the only ones there for the first 20 minutes, so I can understand a certain drop in quality. This was horrible. The coffee was stale tasting (despite the waitresses assurance it was the best coffee around) obviously ground days ago and left exposed to the air. I opted for an orange juice, expecting Tropicana, etc. Even the orange juice was bad as if it had sat at room temp over night with a faint smell of fermentation, and taste of cardboard. I had a huge appetite, so I ordered the Texas omelette, plus the biscuits and gravy. There is nothing Texas about it other than the word Texas written on it (literally) in cheap vinegary BBQ sauce. This was actually the best part of the meal. The accompanying hash-browns were made the day before (or longer) in a cookie sheet, and carved up with a spatula or pizza wheel. The biscuits and grav were both bought premade for sure, and were the usual durable dry and gloppy with a hint of uncooked flour. Neither of us could palate the hash-browns. I seldom comment of the decor of a place; I normally dont care. This place is just so random, bland and inappropriate I had to say something. Red and blue neon and dimmed lights at 7am just dont work for me. Dim lighting may have been a good choice to keep attention off the overall dirty look, but it results in the paper signs duct-taped to the floor warning about the raise in the carpeted floor being easily missed. The radio, which kept breaking into static was playing an interview with a zoo keeper. The projection screen TV was playing Animal Planets river monsters, which was mostly lizards and birds eating each other, not the greatest theme for a casual meal. The outdoor / indoor setting in the waiting area you pass through in the back entrance, then the coat room with broken vending machines, then back dining area (back entrance is for the main parking lot) were completely mismatched, leading me to believe initially that wed entered the wrong place. I must say the service was great. Constant attention with big smiles. I didnt want to dampen their demeanor with my negative comments, though now I wish I had.

Decided to try the Big Egg since I wanted to try something new. I am a creature of habit and always go to Georges Kitchen. Georges is great and close to my house, but wanted to try something new. Walked in - place was not full, but had to wait to be seated. Got coffee after a few minutes...Took a bit to get our water. We were ready to order when she brought the water, but she walked away. Came back 5 minutes later. My girlfriend asked about the soup specials, the waitress was clueless. Mind you it was about 1 so I am sure the soup had been available all day. We order, we wait, we wait, we wait. Finally the waitress comes over to fill my empty coffee cup (been empty for 5 min). We ask if she could at least bring the soup. Finally after 20 min our food comes. My omelet was barely warm, hash browns coldish, my sausage was piping hot and over cooked...was a piece of leather that burned my mouth. Also, my girlfriends burger was way over-cooked... she asked for it med-well, but was well well well done. So for that long of a wait and food not that good, I will be going back to Georges and ask for their forgiveness.

Best Super Late Night Eatery Experience in Cleveland to Date! Our Server was amazing. Handled a pretty decent "Rush" of guests with grace, professionalism, and just enough humor to keep it classy. She never become flustered, even though the number of patrons in an instant - grew from 4 to about 10! Kudos to the kitchen Staff! As the food was HOT, and Served at warp speed. Our meals were decently priced, well prepared, and they were very tasty! Wed come across town to hear a friends band play at one of the establishments nearby. But would definitely make the trek back to the area, just to dine at the Big Egg!

Ate lunch here this past Sunday. Found out that they are only open to 3pm and breakfast was the main thing offered. No problem. DH and I had omelets that were really great. Had great hash browns and toast along with them. Coffee was good and never ending. We could not have asked for anything better! We lost our usual go to restaurant to new owners so The Big Egg will now be our favorite place. BTW, the staff is super friendly and the place is clean.

The owner was prejudice. I went there 3 times and he never greeted us or even attempted to seat us but whenever a non-colored party entered he would smile, speak, and seat them. When it was time for us to pay hed be at the register with his hand out (still no greetings). The food wasnt bad and waitresses were decent. Overall, I would not recommend this establishment.

The Big Egg is off the beaten path somewhat however for the people who know about this Restraunt like I do would prefer the home town feel of the Big Egg. The inside atmosphere is very comfortable and friendly feeling. The food is very good and at an affordable price. If youre looking for a hearty great tasting hot meal at an affordable price Id recommend the Big Egg.

everytime I have eaten here the service and food are the same,.. Excellent! This is a family friendly destination that offers that personal touch of service combined with great tasting food. If your in the area, you should do yourself a favor and stop in and make a friend, and enjoy a great lunch! -- Emir E&A Locksmith Cleveland, Ohio.

Havent been there in awhile, now I remember why. Prices have gone up quality further down than the last time. The grill was dirty my food had black grit, the baked potato was baked a few days ago, had that dry grey color and the bagged salad brown. I cant even say breakfast is much better

I have visited this location twice, with months in between. Both times the service was slow and indifferent. The food was nothing special. Both of my visits were between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. The restaurant was not busy, so I dont get the slow service. I am done spending my money here.

Service and prices OK. Toast was so cold when they buttered it, the nutter didnt melt. Eggs over medium were good. Potatoes were cold, too. Dont know about the non-egg parts of menu.

Not bad for what it is. Last time I went the waffles tasted a little funny...as if they were maybe made from expired milk or butter. Id definitely be willing to give it another shot.
