I have spoken,. Recommended this place to everyone in my circle far and wide. It is a great concept. Place is clean, amazing concept and limited and small menu makes it easy to order. I love their Tandoori Naan and Roti. Their paneer is delicious Chana Masala is authentic. Samosa chat is excellent and chutneys tasty. I do not like their veggie mix at all. They have missed on their taste completely. It might be good for the ones who do not cook Indian food but I would not order it ever again! What ticked me the most is their change of cooking method. Previously they were using separate tandoor for Non-veg food. The person who made chicken was also wasnt making Paneer etc. Today I saw their most USP going down the drain. I wonder what made them change their original plan. If you are a vegetarian, Jain, Vegan or have food allergies this place has become a bit iffy. As we were traveling from east coast to Midwest we took a long detour to visit the place, the staff refused to provide us carryout boxes other than the paper bowls. They would not even try to serve in my own glass containers on their serving table. My experience has proven it futile to carry food in the paper bowls. Gravy gets soaked into the bowls and leaks, it also gets too dry to eat a few hours later during long road trips. They have excellent bio-degradable bowls and plates for sit down meals. Or to take home if you live in area. I hope they will pay attention to their place what has made them the best in hygiene and cleanliness must be maintained. I call this restaurant the Apple store of Indian, Fast food restaurants. Please keep it as it is.

Moving here from the UK, one of the things I miss most is a good Indian Restaurant. Ive tried a few in the area, with mixed results. Choolaah is an interesting take on the more traditional restaurant. It is kind of like an Indian Chipotle with a somewhat limited (but very nice) menu, and very fast service. The food was flavourful, and the quantities were about right for lunch; I think I am used to perhaps a little more in the evening. I will need to go back to discover the full menu, as other options may offer a bigger plateful. I was a little let-down by the naan bread - I took the wheat one and it wasnt nearly fluffy enough - in fact it was a bit flat and stodgy - almost the thickness of a poppadom. If they fluffed them up a bit, and made a Peshwari Naan, they would definitely get an extra star! The premises themselves are really nice - spotlessly clean and spacious, and the staff are very friendly and helpful at explaining the slightly unintuitive ordering process . [EDIT: Went back again and had the plain naan this time - it was much better than my previous one, so perhaps the wheat doesnt rise as much, or I just got a bad one.]

So this is a concept restaurant. They are trying to do something like American food stuff... Pick a protein...add it to generic curries and have it with rice and/or naan. Here is where it fails... 1. They ask you what protein you want in black dal! What??? Black Dal is eaten as Black Dal...there is no protein added to it! It is protein itself. 2. Ordering is confusing and the person taking the order has no clue what we want. 3. There is a random chutney given with dishes and they do not gel well with the curry or the dish. 4. Veggie balls - is gigantic balls that are drier than falafel and not soaked in curry. Extremely bland and untasty. 5. This place is named after the "oven"...and yet their naan can qualify to be in an Olympic discus throw. It is hard if not eaten in the first 3 seconds of arrival. I could go on and on...I wish the owners could give this a bit more thought and smoothen out the chinks. The ambiance is good and this place has a lot of other things going for it. Thanks

This was my first visit to Choolaah Indian BBQ and it was quite amazing. The staff was extremely welcoming from the time I ordered my food, to simple conversations I had with them when I was seated at my table waiting for my food. While dining, the food I tasted was unlike any other Indian food I have ever had at a restaurant before – and I have eaten Indian food for 25 years. The flavor of the food was laced with the “Heart,” the love, of the owners. It was the most incredible experience knowing how much care and love everyone had placed into the preparation of this food. I cannot express my gratitude enough to communicate what a delight it was to discover Indian food – Choolaah Indian BBQ style. I would encourage anyone who has a desire to dine at an Indian restaurant to choose Choolaah Indian BBQ first and enjoy the beautiful heartfelt experience.

The service here is good, and this is a great way to do Indian food, unfortunately it just wont warrant a return visit. The food here is not my favorite. Everything was well prepared and I recommend it for anyone wanting to try something different or are big fans of Indian food. The interior designer/architect of this places gets 5 stars though. Its pretty cool inside with a main floor dining area, and a step down lower dining area that provides a more private experience. The main table in the large room lunch hall style and is this long piece of wood with books all the way down the spine. Hard to describe, and perhaps a waste of good books. But still cool. Also there is a magnet wall near the restrooms full of word magnets to distract you from the using the bathroom or entertain you while you wait. Cool place, just not a fan.

Higher end Indian fast food. Its actually quite unbelievable how fast they can prepare your order. The decor is impressive. Large glass windows allow customers to see the inner workings of the kitchen, and it is nice to see how this food is prepared . Large wooden tables and chrome everywhere make an above average fast food dining experience. The hand washing machine is awesome and is appreciated to cut down the dissemination of germs---it is in the main public area, and you put your hands inside for 30 seconds and take clean hands out. Easy to clean hands before and after eating without going to the bathroom. I do wish the food bowls had more vegetable side options. It seems like most bowl options consist of meat, rice, and sauce.

I strongly recommend checking this place out! The design of the space is really cool. You can see the naan being prepared in these big ovens, there is a magnetic poetry wall in the back, a touch screen beverage machine and many creative artistic touches around the retail space. Im not crazy about the food- I would equate it to going to Taco Bell or chipotle instead of an authentic Mexican restaurant but its not bad. Most importantly, there is a super awesome hand washing machine (next to the touch screen drink machine) that YOU MUST TRY!!!! Its really cool you have to experience it for yourself. I recommend coming here! Fun for kids too!

Firstly, I was intrigued by the concept of an Indian barbecue chain restaurant, given my love for elaborate Indian Buffet meals. Given the options they have on their menu, I would consider this an excellent choice. You may have to be careful sometimes with what you order as it may be a mouthful:) The fact that we can have bread, and entree and rice delicacy for a reasonable fare is also a big plus and the open environment and good ambience makes it refreshing and different from the dingy, dimly lit, curry selling typical restaurant that we are generally used to. Highly recommend this place!
