Sad to say, things have changed. New abbreviated menu with higher prices. All new faces, none of the regular crew were used to. No substitutions; including our usual order of chana masala add potato. No garlic naan?! Looks like theyre off the radar. Solid one point something or other. Not really a two. ====== Bombays one of Orlandos hidden gems. Very friendly and obliging service. Exceptional vegetarian flavors. You look around, you see Indians in the know eating here, and maybe you start to think there must be something wonderfully authentic about this place. I go for the garlic naan, samosas, rasam, chana masala add potato, and Love it. Each and everytime. Ill say, its not for everyone here, and might be adventuresome for some. While the space and the service and the food is really nice, theyre in a worn out old plaza on OBT and thats that. Ive brought dates here that gasped until we settled in on the beautiful space Bombay is. Spice house is in the same plaza (think Imperial British Indian grocery) and that makes for some fun shopping too but the last many times Ive been, checking out has taken so long we abandoned our intended purchases. And damn it, used to Love trying new sodas and chocolates on our way out!!! Bombay used to be associated with Tamarind in Winter Park but Im not so sure thats so anymore. Ive been to both and never saw the connection.

I am a south Indian Vegetarian and have been in the US( NJ) for more than 15 years. We were on vacation in Orlando and planned for a Woodlands dinner; however we were forced into "Bombay Cafe", which was right opposite Woodlands (as the woodlands wait time was more than 30 mins). I would say that it was a blessing in disguise. The staff at "Bombay Cafe" were very courteous; they took our orders while we were waiting to be seated and our orders were served very quick, even though the restaurant was full. Both the North and South Indian dishes were very tasty; and unlike other restaurants in Orlando, the quantity was very decent and prices nominal. I was pleasantly surprised that a "Bombay Cafe"can make "dosas" and "bagalabath" so authentically. Our group of 7 totally loved it and would recommend it. This is close to Universal Studios and a perfect spot for dinner on the way back. Our only regret was that we were leaving Orlando the next day and couldnt visit this place one more time.

Till this very day I have been asking myself what do people see in this place?!!! The food doesnt even look perfessional made!! There dosas are soggy their sambar is flat with hardly any vegatables and dont get me started on their uttapa Indian pancake too thick looks more like The kind of american pancake youll get at some kind of american waffle house place or something!! Yea I admitted Im may not be Indian but all I know that during my searching round for a veggie Indian eat out place Im sorry but for a Person during the time when was getting to know the Indian food bit and during my searching I also came cross Woodland!! one taste bite and its taste gotten my eyes closed and it made made me feel as If though I were eating out in some kind of authentic Indian place up in India!!

This is an excellent restaurant! Every time I have a friend or family member visiting from out of town, I make sure to bring them here for either lunch or dinner. The food is amazing, well-priced, and honestly some of the tastiest Indian food I have ever had. You have to try the samosas if you come here - I cannot find samosas as good anywhere else! And I appreciate their huge selection of vegetarian dishes, which dont make you miss meat at all - they are too delicious. Nice atmosphere, and their kind waiting staff is always checking to see if I need anything else. I would give them 6 stars if I could! :) Thanks, Mamun!

Although the ambiance is discouraging, the food is not. One of the few restaurants where Ive been served within 3-5 minutes of placing my order. We were a party of 4 and ordered about 8 dishes - each of which were served to us quickly and tasted every bit like authentic Indian food. Pretty good on portion size too. The waiter and the busboy both were polite and very quick. Not sure who maintains the complex this restaurant is housed in but the place seriously lacked in housekeeping. This place would receive 5 stars from me if it werent for the ambiance/general upkeep of the place.

Sooo good! This was our first visit and was based on the strong recommendation of friends. We started with Pani Puri, which was totally different from any dish weve ever had at an Indian restaurant. Nice appetizer. Our main course was a Spring Dosa. Best Dosa weve ever had. Aside from being delicious, I do believe it was quite healthy! We will be back....I think that on each visit we will have a Spring Dosa plus two new items until weve tried everything! We may not be vegetarian, but good food is good food, period. The place is very clean. Good service.

I loved this place when it opened, its not even a year and I hate this place. There is no consistency. Every time you go you will find the food different. Some time it will be too spicy some time they forget to add any spice at all, Some time it is so oily that you will curse yourself for ordering and some time you will spoil your whole day because you may have indigestion or Diarrhea but some time you can get lucky. Price was its really cheap and quantity is good but they keep you surprised by making the same thing different every time you go.

Ordered the garlic naan, vegetable korma, and the rasmalai for lunch, to-go. The restaurant was clean and quiet (contrasting the rest of the building and hallway), the service was friendly. The food was very enjoyable. The korma was spicier than I expected, although I enjoyed the heat. The garlic naan was perfectly seasoned with a lot of garlic. The rasmalai was incredible, quickly putting out the heat from the korma. Plenty for two people with leftovers. I will be back to try other dishes.

Wait for 45 minutes. Understandable.! Ordered food. Entrees come first, appetizers come later. Try to reorder appetizer and we are told that reorder will be 30 - 45 min wait. Answer: oh we are busy. Shut the damn doors if you are busy. One of the waitress was cursing a customer while I was standing next to her, to place my order. Wow what a wrotten place. Will never go again. Sheer waste of money ( spent $ 130.00 )and time.!! Never again.

I discovered this restaurant a few days ago and Im so happy I dined there. For myself I ordered curry, unfortunately I forgot the specific name of the plate, it was delicious! My father ordered the fried rice and I loved it so much more. The server was amicable and honest about the plates as he kindly guided towards a tasty direction. I must disclose I am no expert in Indian cuisine, but I absolutely loved it and will visit again.

This place is awesome! This is not the place to go if youre looking for a touristy fine dining modern feel restaurant. For anybody who has lived in Asia and legitimately knows the flavors, smells, and overall dining experience and LOVES it then this place is your place. It is absolutely the most authentic place in Orlando for Indian cuisine and easily the highest quality youll find in the city.
