CASH ONLY (come prepared)! 1st visit for a take-away order. Atmosphere: The place is tiny and awkwardly arranged (but this is sort of typical of old West Fargo, I think), but also cozy and felt very much like a small town or village establishment. Parking is at the back, while the dining entrance is at the front, making the walk-up for a sit-down dinner feel strange (and cold on this occasion during a December blow). There is a drive-thru window and lane adjacent to the parking entry. Id never seen a drive thru lane at a chinese place before, it tips you off that the dishes will be fast-food and not fine dining calibre. I did not dine-in this time, but surveying the dining area, it appeared cozy and kind of oddly inviting. There is your usual kitchy ethnic decor, but the tighter closed-in space made it work for me. A lovely little dive (Ive had some of my best food experiences in little dive joints). Service: My order was handled by a kindly woman who appeared to fit right in to the place. Smiling and pleasant, it also appeared as though she mightve been the doer of all roles on my night (a stormy Thursday). Food: Fast-food chinese fare, well executed overall for me. I tried: Mongolian beef - excellent, very spicy and flavorful Kung pao chicken - tasty, not complicated, high quality chicken chunks (some other places really fall down on their meat quality) Sweet and sour pork - excellent, just a tad greasy, my batch may have sat out a bit from the fryer, but good quality pork chunks Pork lo mein - excellent Pork fried rice - good (every place does their fried rice a little different, here its not dyed yellow, nor brown, and tastes a little peppery; again the meat quality is above average for food of this type) Verdict: I would visit again. I have other chinese places of similar calibre closer to me in south Fargo, but Im on the hunt for an establishment that does a better job with the stuff I like, particularly with the meats (five other places Ive sampled, including nearby, all use junk meats). The people (or woman) at Peking did well for me on this occasion, so it was worth the out-of-the-way drive, and diversion to an ATM for more cash.

I was a little leery at first since it doesnt look like much from the outside, but the inside is actually quite pleasant. Very clean and neat, although its small and could use some ambient music to make it a bit less awkward. The food was quite good. I got the Kung Pow Chicken Combo Platter. It was a good sized meal heaped on a small plate. It was fresh and hot and overall was a tasty dish. I would get it again, but I would also be willing to try something else as well. Its a bit spendier than most Chinese places, and they only take cash (as of 7/30/16). That being said, I would recommend this place to a friend.

Pros: Fast and friendly service, not normally busy during the lunch hour. The pepper symbol on the menu is not a joke; the food marked as hot is HOT. Egg rolls are very tasty. Portions are overall quite generous and pricing is very reasonable. Cons: Cash-only restaurant (accurate as of review date) which is an inconvenience. This place is not a good candidate for a date or a meal where you want to impress someone (duct tape on booth seats and exterior of building is in underwhelming condition).

While the food was better than most Chinese food in Fargo, the to-go portions were very small. It took over an hour for delivery the first time I tried the food even though I live about five blocks away. The second time I tried to order, no on answered the phone all three times I tried to call during normal business hours. Potential to be good, but some business kinks to work out.

Worst place i have ever gone to. Stingy portions for the charge, & not very well made. Been eating chinese across america (truck driver) & this was by far the most unpleasant & distasteful!!!

It was okay. We were hungry, the food was what we expected, on a cold November night the day after Thanksgiving.
