My art school professors always told me to start with the good. The she crab soup was hot and delicious. Anyways, the server must have been having a bad day because it felt like she didnt want to be there. Moods are contagious so of course we started to feel like we didnt want to be there. I ordered the roast beef sandwich, which was basically a French dip. The menu is practically made of cheese, but the server said I couldnt put the proper, traditional cheese on the sandwich. I was limited to cheddar or provolone. The sandwich was okay with the cheddar cheese. The bread was decent, but over-baked. This made it hard to compress the sandwich for dipping. Compressing the sandwich is also crucial to keeping the ingredients inside the bread. The meat wasnt the tender or high quality beef Id expect in a French dip sandwich, but the au jus was fine. I might return for the she crab soup, but I dont think Id try any other dishes.

I will be completely honest. Ive lived in Wilmington for 4 years now, and Ive tried a lot of different restaurants in that time. This is, as a whole, hands down the best restaurant in Wilmington. The staff is attentive, the decor is simple, yet elegant, and the food is amazing! For starters, we had the baked brie with the jalapeño blackberry jam, and the seared ahi tuna. Both very wonderful in their own ways. I ordered the stuffed flounder with grilled asparagus. Its a favorite of mine, and I always gauge a restaurant based on how they execute that dish. The fish was flaky and tender, the crab stuffing packed with flavor, but not enough to overpower the fish itself. I honestly dont have one negative thing to say about this place. If you get a chance to, please come here and give it a shot. Its very new, and I want to see this place last for a long time to become a local favorite, as well as a definite tourist spot!

I went to eat here on a warm Saturday afternoon and choose to eat outside. Its a bit odd that the restaurant downstairs is not connected to upstairs. To access you take the outdoor steps/ elevator. There was no way to check in to let the staff know you are there. So many people just sit down and hope to get the wait staffs attention. The wait staff wasnt knowledge about the food section. This is advertised as a Penn State Alumni location ( why we went) yet the wait staff are clueless about this. It was nice to sit outside, but you have no view. The best part was the sugar scrub in the ladies room. When we arrived I overheard people talking about this, and was unsure why someone would rave about a sugar scrub in a restaurant bathroom, but OMG its the best thing the restaurant offers. Food was average.

This place is an absolute gem. The food was amazing. split the parmasean crusted pork and the crab cakes with risotto with my roommate. Phenomenal! Honestly though..my favorite part was the staff. Evan, the bartender clearly loves what he does and it shows. Very knowledgeable and his recommendations hit the nail on the head everytime. The server Annie was an absolute delight, and Bree the manager was very friendly and welcoming. I will be back without a doubt. I think I found my new favorite spot. The upstairs bar is so cool. Evan talked about all the specials and events coming up and I certainly intend on taking advantage of them. I highly recommend. Outstanding food and a better staff.

First time trying our Johnny Lukes and it was delicious. I had the New Orleans Kicker burger which had pepper jack, jalapeños, fried onion straws, and sriracha mayo. All the flavors worked really well together and it was cooked perfectly. All the others at our table enjoyed their food as well. The beer battered fries were tasty, much better than your average fry. Our server Angela did a great job taking care of our table. Didnt make it to the rooftop seating, but it looked like a great place to be on a nice night.

The service was good, but the food was mediocre at best. The prices are comparable to true farm to table restaurants, and yet the food lacks the class. If youre a foodie, this place is not where you want to be. The Parmesan crusted pork was reminiscent of burnt shake n bake and the green beans seemed to be microwaved. The chicken pot pie was good, but those arent too hard to make. Like I said, the service was good and the staff was nice. Im sure a beer and flatbread, or burger at lunch wouldve been great.

Fantastic food. I feel this restaurant could be in the top 5. The tap beer is warm - I recommend asking for a bottle with a chilled glass - you get better beer that way. The waitstaff is also a bit slow, but it seems to be because of their system. I dont think Ive ever been when they have a dedicated bartender. Each waitress seemed to be responsible for gathering bar drinks. If the place gets even slightly crowded, that begins to slow down. With a few changes, this will be the place to be.

Ordered the spinach artichoke dip, very bland generic, the nacho chips it came with were stale. The plates that were given to us were not washed very well. My husband said the barbque pork flat bread was good. My daughter liked the kids chicken strips, kids eat free on Thursday. The braised short ribs were ok. The mushroom risotto was the best thing I tried. Overall the place didnt live up to the ratings and reviews

First time being here, I would have to say waitress was ok and spinach/artichoke dip was ok, however the pork chop was raw, they gladely took it back but what was very concerning to me was the fact that they brought the same pork chop that I had already cut into back to me instead of cooking another, Im not sure if it was nuked or not but for $85, and no apology From a manager or anything I will not be back!!

Favorite restaurant in Wilmington. Found this gem in a tucked away place. Best burger Ive had in a long time. Also ordered the Ahi Tuna and chopped house salad, both were delicious. Entrees were the Janes Addiction with chicken and the New Orleans Kicker burger. Delicious! Our only complaint is that the restaurant is so loud, we could hardly hear each other talk.

Extremely pleased with our experience at JohhnyLukes KichenBar. The service was excellent, food delicious (try Janes Addiction shrimp avocado pesto with goat cheese on french brea) Maddie was an excellent server and offered several suggestions regarding food and drink. Enjoyed the sunshine on the loft. Will definitely be back.

Great People, Great food. Called in a rather large to-go order for the crew on separate checks. They got every order 100% correct. Very easy and friendly to grab lunch from. Most of us either had the roast beef sandwich or the chicken Pot Pie and one of us had both, Great food. Worth every dime. A must try kind of place
