So we show up about 1:30pm and ask the hostess if we can sit at the bar outside. She politely says yes and says to sit anywhere. So we proceed at the bar. A waitress comes out and greets us and says that the bar outaide is not open yet but if that is where we want to sit she will serve us there. We offered to move to a table pr go inside but she stood by the fact that is we wanted to be at the bar it was no problem. So far the experience is pleasant. Then as the waitress is taking our order the bartender from inside come out and yells at the waiteress that the bar is her area! We felt bad for the waitress and went on to order. After the waitress went in to place our order my wife and i decided that the intensity of the atmosphere was not a place we wanted to eat on our only afternoon off in two weeks. So my wife goes inside to tell the waitress that we want to cancel and are leaving due to the rudness of the bartender. As the waitress tears up and cancels the order with the kitchen and bartender the bartender walks over and gives a very unpleasant attitude "GOODBYE" to my wife. With all this being said we will NEVER go again and will definitely be telling our friends about our experience. Being a business owner i could never image treating customers like that or any of my employees being rude to others in front of customers.

Decent beer selection with a handful of NC beers. Lots of TVs and a pretty standard sports bar menu. I had a Brisket Burger that was quite tasty. Good size burger with a nice peppered bun. Beer battered french fries are actually good and not a heavy as they sound. My wife had grilled salmon with veggies. Pretty standard but they undercooked it a bit. Not a big deal but asked them to make sure it was well done. Good service from a cheery girl named Olivia. The coolest thing about this place is an outdoor seating area. Its next to the parking lot on the College road side. Big long bar with at least 4 TVs and table seating to boot. A bit chilly for us but during the right weather, it would be very nice.

Havent had much too good out of CAH anywhere, but now Im done. Restroom late on a Sunday had no soap. None. How many dudes working had been in there that day? And I just ate something maybe one of them prepared. The ladys had no paper according to my wife. Uh, thats none...again. Half the food was cold, or got that way after the first couple bites. And their beer selection is poor, at best, for an "ale" house. At least these unhygienically minded folks provide good service and are nice, ala the single star.

If I could leave less than one star I would. Tried to have lunch here however me and my friend sat in a booth for over 30 minutes without ever being served we tried just being patient... another 10 minutes went by then we tried flagging someone down still no luck so we left. Clearly they do not need business. I will not be going here ever again. I can understand if maybe they were understaffed or something BUT they werent we were just totally ignored!!!

I like this place but the bar service is subpar and the last three times I have been there I was not happy. First, they brought my wife chicken fingers instead of the fish and chips she ordered, second visit they brought me a bowl of cold chili, and tonight I get a bartender who could care less about service- just had a bad attitude and gave me an IPA in a warm glass ( just out of the washer.) I cant recommend this place. Really wish it was better.

OMG the sliders are amazing, so are the fries, loaded and plain. Chicken wings amazing. Loved it. Mike, the bartender was cool as Hell. Called us by name and didnt forget our names. Was very engaged with us. Never had an empty glass. I highly recommend this place. Sit outside at the bar .... its beautiful. Were new in town, and were extremely satisfied with our first restaurant choice!!! ❤

Service is always slow. We come here because we work a lot and its one of the only places in town thats open late. Food is half-assed a lot of the time. Tonight we walked out after not being greeted for a while. Ale house has the potential to be great, but poor service is a big issue. I work in the industry and only after many similar experiences would I write this review...

Server was friendly and competent. However, while it was busy, it was not overly busy and our server seemed run off of her feet so they were either running short or intentionally understaffed. Having been here before a while ago this seemed to be consistent with my prior experience. Food was hot and tasted ok but the portions were not very generous.

Just moved to Wilmington NC from Columbia SC and was surprised to see an Ale House. Right away I noticed the menu was not as choosy as the Ale House back at home but the $2.50 pint night made up for it. Every inch of the staff treats you like Royalty. Hands down the best customer service I have experienced in a long time. Kudos!

Food isnt that good anymore. Waitresses dont know what the kitchen fully can offer customers when it comes to different cheeses for their burgers. Cheese sticks are never cooked fully and have had issues for a long time now that seem to be the same, never better. Even after bringing these issues to light to management staff.

Food was average, atmosphere is loud sports bar. My only real complaint was it was sweating hot in there at 6:30 in the evening. Turn up the AC people!! By the time dinner was over my whole family was hot and sweaty not what you respect in a restaurant you go in expecting a retreat from the heat.

I arrived at the ale house with my significant other. We entered and saw a sign that said "seat yourself". After about 20 minutes we still werent greeted or talked to by a waiter. It was like we were being ignored. The night ended with both of us loosing our appetites and a sour note. Thanks.

Me and my boyfriend ate here on a Saturday night. Our appetizer, the nachos, cheese was very spicy. I ordered the meat head pizza, nothing spectacular about this dish; it was dry and basic. For a dessert, I had the mud pie, which has melted ice cream. We wont be back.

Poor service (appetizer finally came after we were done eating) and my wrap was sitting in a puddle of liquid. The only reason it gets a 3 is because they took care of those 2 items on the bill. It is not always like this and maybe it was because of the holiday.

Love coming here in the afternoon for beers and sitting at the patio bar! Bartender always offers my dog a bowl of water. Service is always friendly. Same bartenders have been here for years which is always a good sign. Food is reliable and pretty cheap -
