Brasserie Du Soleil was one of my favorite restaurants in Wilmington. Last night I went to have one of their awesome salads and a glass of wine with a few friends. Three of us ordered salads and within 1 minute of each other, we each found a hair in our salads!! I am usually not one to say anything but we notified our server and she took the salads away. The manager came out to apologize and told us they were "looking to find the problem with the greens" and then would remake our salads. Since they were still searching for the problem and with our appetites for a salad gone, we informed them we would like to order something else and we were told no problem. At the end of the night, the bill came and we were charged for our entire check (minus the tarnished salads). We felt it was poor service for us to have to pay for the new food we ordered when we were under the impression it would be a replacement free of charge. We brought this to the managers attention and were extremely nice, even offering to pay for the wine we had. The manager was extremely rude and made us feel that it was our fault for the entire mix up and issues with the food. We ended up having to pay for half of our bill. I have never in my life experienced such poor customer service. I have always loved this restaurant group but the way we were treated has resulted in them losing my patronage. I want to inform others (something I normally would not go out of my way to do) because I feel like this treatment was so ridiculous. You should never leave a restaurant feeling that you did something wrong when the issues were all on their side and they were completely rude.

Generally speaking, people in Wilmington have the misconception that if you want a good filet, you should go to the Chop House or Ruths Cris. For people who know steak, your best bet is the filet at Brasserie. It makes the Chop House look like dog meat (which it is- the food is crap) and trumps Ruths any day. The special aging of their steak in particular is the key to its melt-in-your-mouth tenderness. Other food is exceptional as well and Ive never been disappointed. Service is top notch. The atmosphere is nice, but...the metallic ceiling tiles can amplify the noise when it gets loud, which it does when the drunken Landfill crowd eventually comes in toward the latter dining hours. The bar selection is good, and Ive had the bartender suggest fresh blueberries in a mojito, which turned out to be excellent. They know how to make a good cocktail. Wine selection is not terrible compared to other restaurants, but you can bring your own bottle for a reasonable corkage fee. This is not a place for children. Do not bring your children unless they are well behaved and quiet. They dont serve kiddie meals here. Bring a fat wallet, but expect to get what you pay for.

The food is great so is the ambiance. The service is hit or miss. We just ate here tonight & I am making it a point how bad the service was tonight. We got there with 3 adults and 2 kids at 1730. The place was not busy yet, but the service was probably some of the worst that I had ever experienced. My waiter never brought us any bread, olive plate etc. I noticed that he brought it right out for a 2 top that was seated beside us about 25 min later. He never cleared any of our plates matter a fact the expediter that brought out our entrees cleared all of the appetizer plates that I had stacked up. Our water was never touched up after it was initially brought out. I use to wait tables for many years in several top notch restaurants & expect the best when you are charging me for it! I did tip the waiter 20% but he deserved 0%....

My daughter found a black hair wrapped around a mozzarella ball in her salad yesterday. We are pretty laid back and did not make a big deal out of it but asked for a new salad. They also didnt seem to think it was a big deal and just quietly said sorry. Meanwhile I had to go ahead and eat while my daughter waited for a new salad so my food wouldnt get cold. When the bill came I was shocked to see nothing was comped - not even the salad. Obviously being nice doesnt pay. Bad business Brasserie. Disturbing that you so easily dismiss hair in the food. Wont be coming back.

The food was inconsistent. Although the French Onion soup was awesome the fish in the entrée was dry and flavorless. Sitting outside was nice and reminded me of my time in Paris while sitting inside was unbearable due to the noise reverberating off the metal ceiling. Out server was top notch but management seemed to careless. The number of obnoxious drunks yelling over everyone trying to enjoy dinner.

We are frequent patrons and always pleased with the food and service. Today at lunchtime I ordered their dark chocolate mousse mini dessert and was informed they were out of the dessert. How does a restaurant run out of a dessert by lunchtime and a mini size one at that? Poor planning or lack of attention to detail? Both are not acceptable at this restaurant.

Wonderful, little French brasserie in Wilmington (right across ICW from Wrightsville Beach). Have great make your own salads. Very solid menu and food prep. The free range chicken is always very good and theres plenty of it. Get the mini-desserts (they come in large shot glasses and are terrific - get the carrot cake)

Stumbled upon this great restaurant while driving around late Saturday night. They treated us like regulars as we walked in close to closing time. Robb was an excellent server and I hope he is there next time we visit Wilmington. We only had dessert and coffee, but want to return for dinner someday.

From walk in to last bite, this establishment truly deserves the highest review! Calvin our waiter gave us his full attention. He added light conversation to his knowledge of the menu. The food is excellently prepared, and the daily specials are exactly that! I look forward to eating here again soon.

Food was so-so. Their tea comes unsweetened, but dont they realize that the sugar needs to be a syrup otherwise it wont melt in cold tea? The steak I had was chewy. They definitely try hard to be haute french with the skirts they make their waitress wear. Now if only the food could be improved.

The only reason I would not give Brasserie Du Soleil five stars is because of the noise level in the dining room. The food and the service is superb but it is just way to loud for pleasant dinner conversation. Im sure we will go back but we will definitely request a table outside.

My wife and I dine here frequently whenever we are in town. We especially love the outdoor dining by the pond and fountain. Last Thursday, we dined with friends, and we all had a wonderful time. The food was superb, wine was excellent, and service was great as usual.
