I am getting married soon and just went through the catering search. This place was very rude on the phone. They were in a hurry and seemed to only want to do business through e-mails. I thought if they are this unfriendly and unhelpful before I give them my business, I wonder what on Earth it is going to be like once they get their money. That brings me to my next gripe, they are way overpriced! They charged for a lot of extras that other catering company’s do not. Like travel time, chaffing dishes, and a tasting. I opted to go with Coastal Catering and Events instead. Glad I did! Coastal has better food, a fair and customer friendly policy and they are actually friendly! Joe at coastal has a "get-er-done attitude". After talking to friends at a wedding this past weekend in Southport about my disappointment in Bon Appétit, it turns out that I actually tasted their food last fall in a Lake Waccamaw wedding. It was the talk of the wedding about how the food was not at all impressive. Don’t let the garnish fool you. It was cold and the flavors didn’t mesh well at all. They got carried away in making it look and sound fancy but forgot the most important thing.....the taste! These people are missing the main ingredients....being polite to their potential customers and making sure the food tastes good.

bon appetit has good food but prepare to be fleeced. these guys know how to take advantage of brides-to-be, most of whom are not familiar with working with catering companies. gene and kim know how to extract hundreds more than you may agree to in your contract, and theyll give you a nasty attitude if you call it to their attention or ask them to clarify. for example, i was charged a "site consultation fee" of $50 which was never mentioned in the original contract and which i assume to be justified by their visit to my reception hall to plan out the buffet table (so basically they charged me for giving them my business). also the prices i was quoted in the first contract for servers and bartenders, and other miscellaneous items such as ice, all mysteriously increased, without any acknowledgment, by the time they presented me with the final bill. these may seem like small items but when added up and taxed are not insignificant. my guests liked the food but i would never recommend this company because they are unpleasant to work with and they will nickel and dime you shamelessly.

Went there for breakfast.. Good service but food was sub par at best. The hashbrowns were strange with sweet potatoes mixed in with too much seasoning and salt and the grits were not like normal grits, not terrible just not for me or my friend. The sausage gravy was also watered down. I was charged $3 for a glass of OJ which I thought was absurd and overall the bill was quite expensive especially for breakfast. We were disappointed enough to not give it another chance especially when there are several amazing places to eat within 3 minutes of this place.

The food was alright and I could fell the hatred stares from the customers and it almost seemed as if the waitresses didnt want to assist me and my family. I witnessed several customers who arrived after me receive service much quicker than my table of 4. Once a waitress did arrive she was nice but I could feel that my family and I was not welcomed and that is absolutely absurd. My family and I was paying customers just like everyone else. Very disappointed and will make sure this complaint goes to corporate.

Food fresh, excellent, is not French, but high quality southern, very good, love it! Oh, FYI I have been enough times to have seen all different kinds of people, race, upper income, lower income, blue collar, white collar, etc... all where treated equally with great service. this is not fast food: the food is fresh home made, made to order and does take a little while, but no longer than any other sit down restaurant. Is one of my favorite places :) and I have been here 27 years

Wonderful food, especially their weekend breakfast specials. Each weekend, they usually feature a frittata, omelet, stuffed pancakes, and several other dishes. The quality is excellent, especially for the price. Be forewarned -- on the weekend they can be very busy and you may have to wait a couple of minutes for a table. Also, it can be somewhat noisy when busy. Well worth the trip!

Myself and two of my girlfriends eat there on yesterday. We were disappointed with the taste of the food. Our omelets were brown and hard, the biscuits had too much shortening in them, hashbrowns were not good and toast was limp and soggy. Maybe the cook was having a bad day..I have eaten there before and food was great. We plan on trying them again.

Has been excellent breakfast and lunch with creative menu. We have enjoyed going to Bon appetite since they open. For some time now the food has not been the same. Wait staff always super. Small example, Easter morning 2016 biscuits were hard and definitely not fresh. Ill leave it at 1 complaint and hope for return to excellence.

Food is great. Price might seem a bit high, but for the portion size you really get your moneys worth. The place is small and can be crowded, but the service is fast so the wait isnt long. If you order the Jethro bodean sandwich ask for extra napkins.

I went to Bon Appétit hoping to get a late breakfast but they had already switched to their lunch menu. I was not disappointed! I seriously just had the best stuffed flounder Ive ever had! The food there is always great, but this was amazing!

Absolutely solid breakfast and lunch. Best Shrimp & Grits in Wilmington. Over-stuffed breakfast sandwich and the Poor Mans Eggs Benedict are great! Perfect, consistent coffee. Lunch menu is just as good.....

Worst Reuben sandwich ever. Meat so tough I could barely chew it. Had to eat with a knife and fork. It only gets 3 stars because the staff were so nice. And because my companions meals were very good.

Just like most places in this town.......everything is extremely salty....and the place was super crowded I guess because it was Sunday morning not to mention the chairs are not the most comfortable.

Yummy food and a nice homemade biscuit for a good price. Try to go when it isnt too busy, otherwise you have to scream at the person across the table so they can hear you, its pretty loud in there.

Casual, local place on unattractive commercial stretch south of town. Late breakfast of BLT sandwich and juice was very good. Menu changes from breakfast to lunch promptly at 11am.

Great breakfast food!!! Reasonably priced with the best grits in Wilmington. The omelets are fantastic. The service was fantastic and I would eat here every morning if I could.
