We were a party of seven ranging in age from 14 to 65, seating was fast at 6:45 on a Saturday. Ambiance was Ok, but very loud. Staff came and went without accomplishing much. Ordered a Tom Collins..was brought something citrusy in a short glass with neither gin nor soda. When I complained our nice college aged waiter told me how excellent the bartender was, implying that I didnt know what Id ordered. Our house salads contained nothing but iceberg lettuce & so-so dressing. My 4 oz. Filet was cooked correctly, though only maybe 3 oz., and not particularly hot when served. My wifes grilled grouper special was very good, if overpriced at $30. All in all, a noisy, overpriced place whose owners need to pay much more attention to the details and forget the pretentious menu until theyve gotten the basics down first. Until that happens, Ill be doing my upscale dining in Southport at The Pharmacy.

We were put on a waiting list when we arrived for our party and the owner/hostess seemed very frustrated from the begining complaing about everything outloud. We were told we needed to wait outside. Part of the group did go out , not by choice, but to honor her request while 4 others chose to stay inside not in the way of any customers to get out of this over 100* sun. This same lady continued to keep letting all the other staff know that she asked our party of 10 to wait outside as well as other customers and complain about how many 10 tops she kept having all day. I have never seen a more disrespectful buisness owner ever act like this. We did leave and had a pleasant experience at another establishment. I would never return or recommend supporting a resturant that treats their guest so rudely especially when their are so many great choices in South Port.

My wife and I were walking the streets of Southport. I have been visiting southport and oak island for 25 years. My wife and I have been together for 7 years. Today we were walking the streets, my wife had to use the restroom, (she is 6 months pregnant!). The foreigner that spoke with us, pointed in the direction of the baptist church and stated "public restrooms at the church". I admit I told the male that he had no heart as I was extremely mad. We are from North Carolina and were expecting the southern hospitality that we know so well. I am deeply saddened that Southport has become a place that is about the $ rather than accepting anyone who visits! Against I have been coming to Oak Island and visiting SouthPort for 25 years. Please dont let this place change your view of The southern hospitality of the great area of North Carolina.

This is my favorite restaurant in Southport if one desires something a little different and very tasty. The employees are always very courteous and provide a lovely environment. The Sunday Brunch has such a varied menu.. I chose the curried chicken in avocado.. large serving and delish and fresh. My friend ordered the crab cakes...almost all crab meat with a bit of panko.. the best! Whenever I have a friend come to town or a special occasion its to the Ports of Call for a guaranteed very satisfying dining experience. I think the prices are reasonable for the freshness, uniqueness and environment.

Outside of this restaurant with its . bistro look doesnt match the inside with its formal faux painted walls and dark interior. We went for Sunday brunch and were terribly disappointed with their "poached egg specialty". We ordered the crab cake with poached egg and the egg arrived practically hard boiled not poached! The frieds came with it were dried out and soggy and not even very hot. The sweet potato muffins were pretty tasteless and nothing special. The one bright spot was staff was friendly and nice which is the only reason didnt give this place a 1 star.

The crab cake sandwich on crescent bun with Orzo pasta salad was amazing! The crab cake was moist, meaty & full of flavor! Our, Cody, waiter was very attentive, professional & friendly. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed the BLT with house salad. The Balsamic dressing was delicious. My husband found the fish & chips to be cooked to perfection-lightly battered, moist & flaky! Overall, one of the best dining experiences weve had in a long time. HIGHLY recommend!

We set out for dinner without deciding where to go. We drove around Southport and my wife hopped out of the car to look over the menu at Ports of Call. She, our boys (12 and 10) decided to give it a try. What a treasure we found! We were seated immediately and the wait staff was so friendly. I had Blackened Mahi Ceasar salad and my wife had a salmon with quinoa dish. Wow was it good. And we didnt even order from their lengthy wine list. We have to go back.

The chef here was the chef at the now defunct Pharmacy , which was our favorite place to eat in Southport. We tried Ports of Call based on that fact and were not disappointed. Food was excellent with many inspired options on the menu. Some of the staff were at the Pharmacy too so it was a welcoming friendly, familiar atmosphere. We have a new favorite in Southport!!

Went for lunch around 1:15pm on a Saturday. Friendly greeted, seated immediately. Waiter was on the spot when needed, but not hoovering. SEA BLT is a worthy delicious dish! We also had a mixed green salad with added shrimp - very nice! Id recommend this place because it had clean restrooms, friendly staff, a most excellent chef, and good options on the menu.

We wanted an early dinner and they were staying their light tapas menu prior to 5. We knocked down a Caprese salad, the Turkish beef skewers, fried cod, Calamari and Korean Wings, plenty of food for 3 people. All were solid and well prepared, fast service. Cocktail menu was well rounded, enjoyed the New Fashioned, and an eclectic wine last. Worth a trip.

Stopped here for brunch on Sunday on our way out and I highly recommend it. I had the biscuits and gravy and it was fantastic. The biscuits tasted like they were fresh out of the oven and the scrambled Eggs had bacon onion jam on them. Also came with 3 pieces of bacon and some fritz, all for $11.

Awesome food, personal wait staff, unique menu that will send your taste buds buzzing. Edit: over the past few years this place has been disappointing. Undercooked food and a poor wait staff. We have given them many chances and have provided feedback. We will not be back.
