The food is spectacular, dont get me wrong, there is no place in the area that will come close to the crab cakes and fare offered by this restaurant. I do have a rather major complaint about the place though that will seriously hinder my decision to return, its just not friendly. The prices for the quality of food are fair, but they do tend to scale towards the high end, the food was actually rather enjoyable, but the feeling you get from walking in there, as if its an inconvenience to whatever their intended dining crowd is truly made it hell on earth to sit through the meal. The, what I assume was, owner was walking around introducing himself to tables, being congenial, passed over our table several times. I didnt think much of it at first but the air of the very place is rather that of a country club. It oozes this vibe that if you arent in the know they truly dont need your business. In short, if they offer take out, by all means indulge, However, if not its truly not worth the trip. This is a pity, since I rather enjoyed the actual meal. In summary, the prices are on the higher end of the spectrum, but are fair for the quality. If it was more open and friendly I would be a regular.

With our busy schedules and owning two businesses we tend to eat out a ton! We have tried this experience three times now. The food is okay but every time we have eaten here I have fell EXTREMELY ill once we leave. I mean bathroom for HOURS- Every. Single. Time. I thought the first two were just a coincidence, but the third time is the charm! I will never EVER eat here again- something in the food is making us ill. My husband was a bit disturbed that he had a $32.00 steak and couldnt be offered a steak sauce of any kind. They dont carry any, not even a house recipe! Our waitress had mentioned that she had been cut a tip ($130.00 bill - $0.00 tip) due to the restaurant not offering a steak sauce. The owners didnt compensate her for the jerk clients. Her service was amazing and she is one of the best waitresses we have ever had and she was docked her rightful tip due to the facility not offering the public something. I would have made it right and compensated my employee for a good job performed. I believe this is indeed why we own two successful businesses. Horribly disappointed.

My husband and I were at work fell in love that place. my husband and I were at work fell in love that place he got one of the specials with barbecue and mac & cheese which but I had a bite with absolutely amazing I also had the best hamburger Ive ever seen and Im not one to enjoy hamburgers I got the smokehouse. Friendly staff our waitress Was cierra and she was so nice and refilled our water and came back and checked on us multiple times. We will be back.

Our crews new place to go in Hagerstown. We flew in today and pretty much threw a dart at the map and it hit Hoffmans. What a wonderful surprise when we showed up. Greeted at the door and they promptly sat our party of 6 without reservations. Everyone found something they wanted on the menu, and when the first appetizer arrived, we knew we were in for a wonderful meal. The bang-bang shrimp was amazing. Then the rest of the food arrived and no one was left wanting. Good sized portions, great flavor, and wonderful service by Erin made a great impression on all of us.

The food was good, not excellent, but good. My dads steak was cooked perfectly. My daughters ahi tuna was horribly over done. The server was slower than molasses in February. We got there at 715 and the appetizers came within a reasonable amount of time. Our salads came out 35 minutes after. Our drinks took about 15 minutes to arrive. We were there about 2 hours from start to finish. Not much friendliness in the atmosphere. I dont think we will be back.

We love this place and have been here several times and even threw a small party here (16 people). The food is great and for what they are serving the price is outstanding. We enjoy the crab cakes at the Dutchs Daughter in Frederick. Hoffmans are just as good and less pricey. Everyone who works there is always very friendly and the service is great. We like to go here for special occasions or just nights we dont feel like cooking.

WOW! I have had Hoffmans food at several high-end catering events and didnt think it could get any better--Wrong! We were seated promptly when we arrived. We both had appetizers, a main course, and a drink from the bar. The food and the service exceeded my expectations, and the price didnt break the budget. I will definitely be back to see the Hoffman Brothers again!

We ate here last night, food was delicious. I had salmon and my husband had the ribs. Server was friendly and attentive. We were seated immediately. Happy hour bottles were 6 for $10. Hugh selection of IPA as well. We will be back. Prices are fair to a tad bit high for the food, but worth it.

Truly one of the best restaurants in town. We enjoyed the crab cakes and the service was outstanding. Very pleased. The food is high quality, atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the management is superb. If you are traveling and looking for a great place to eat, look no further!!!

This is one of my favorite places to eat around Hagerstown. The food is amazing!!! They have different dinner specials all the time. Chris is a great bartender and makes some of the best drinks. If you want great food this is the place to go.

2nd time I had a meal. Both meals were delicious. Only complaint was the crab cake was on the small side. But real lump crab used! Im not sure how often there is music, but really enjoyed the jazz/blues singer and pianist, both very talented.

Stopped in on our way back from a road trip. Delighted by the live entertainment, surprised by the lovely interior, satiated by the simple but tastey food. 4.5 stars. (Bathroom hand towel dispenser was inoperable, .5 star deduction )

One of my absolute favorite local restaurants. Staff is friendly and helpful. Prices are reasonable, food is delectable. I have never had bad food here, but try the drunken mushrooms and bang bang shrimp!
