My wife and I try to get to Ichiban as much as possible, its the best entertainment and food combination that weve ever experienced. From the star of the meal with the soup and salad all the way through the presentation, we are very happy and satisfied. The amount of food for each patron is enormous, which is why most times they provide a take home tray at the end of the meal. The chefs are well trained in tappanyaki and weve never had a bad experience. The charm of sharing a table with several strangers who are as excited as we area bout the show and the food is great, we always strike up a conversation with our table mates. The price for the large amount of food is very reasonable, well worth every penny...a great value. Almost every time we go to Rocky Mount, we go to Ichiban and will continue to do so, and to recommend it to all of our friends

The blonde hair manager in Ichiban is terribly rude. She insisted that I sit next to people when I skipped a chair at the empty table. I wanted my own personal eating space which there was more than enough room. I never seen a employee argue and disrespect a customer so blatantly over nothing. Also the interior is old & dingy looking and not up to par with other Japanese sushi and hibachi style restaurants. They will not get anymore of my business. Sad because the food is actually descent. However customer service should be a priority.

My family & I have been going here for about 3 yrs and experienced good service, however the last time we were there was a few weeks ago for dinner. The chef wasnt a familiar face. He really didnt give the table enough rice or noodles. Usually we have lots of food to take home but not on this visit. I dont know why he didnt put eggs in the rice either. The chef that gives us excellent service and plenty of food is chef Kay and well request him from now on if we continue to visit. Great food though.

I drive down from roanoke rapids at least once during the weeks that I work there. Unfortunately, Jonah and Maria no longer work there, but the sushi is still the best in the area, and most of the time as good as, or better than sushi I have had in Raleigh. (I never order anything else.) Atmosphere is probably not the best but it doesnt dissuade me from being a regular customer for the last 3 or 4 years!

The best hibachi style Japanese food around the Rocky Mount area. If you can make it for lunch, the value for the amount of food you get is great, and usually not crowded or a wait. For dinner though, the prices do go up considerably. But you do get more food and more of a show from the cooks usually. Unless u get there early for dinner be prepared to wait, especially Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.

Well this use to be our favorite place to eat, but today we found hair in our salads. These hairs were very long. So, we looked around and saw waiters with untamed hair. You know the hair thats just all over the place, slit ends , no hair net, and hanging down. When ask to speak to a manager, he offered us another salad . Were still here, so lets see how the rest of the visit turns out.

Great place. A real surprise for Rocky mount area, there is a great vibe from this resturant and the food is very good also. Most if not all the tables are hibachi tables so you will get stuck next to random people. But this place also has a sushi bar where you can enjoy just their sushi options. Its really great, I recommend this place to eat, great place to take a date!

i think this is some of the best sushi anywhere, if you compare to Mura at North Hills it is better and less expensive. Go to any of another half dozen places in Raleigh, same issue. Far better than Cowfish and tons less expensive. May be in a different market but shows that there is tons of quality and value east of the overpriced Triangle.

Great sushi, very fresh fish, good rice, good seaweed salad, nice miso soup, friendly, they even turned down the A/C for me (Im not used to it) and the green tea is also very nice, very traditional and I like that, beside the sushi bar there is a restaurant area and a bar, Ill be back, greetings from a Swiss guy ;-)

Most of the time it is very good but they have two chefs that are terrible and if you are unfortunate to get one of them you are guaranteed to be disappointed. Sometimes I get two shrimp with the tempura and three other times. The last time I was there the rice was burnt and greasy, everything had a burnt taste.

We came pretty close to their closing time of 1030pm on weekends and they still gave us a table. We had Bryan as our chef and he was fantastic. A couple of us had the filet mignon and it was fantastic, like it was soon tasty and cooked correctly rare for us. Any time Im in the area well be coming back.

Me and my fiancee have been visiting this place for over 2 years and the employees do seem to be irritated as some moments but I understand their frustrations because I have been in their shoes. Our food is always good and our orders are always correct so we do not have any complaints. Love it!

Its funny but really sad. They ran out of lettuce for the wrap. A call in order takes 45 min to an hour to complete After this experience I know why I hated this place 2 years ago I dont see how anyone says this place is excellent But this area dosent know any better

Take Out - Service was very slow and very unprofessional. Told me to hold on in the middle of calling my order in to help someone else. Brought my receipt to sign...never came back to get it, never said thank you...bye...anything. Quality of food has improved though!

Terrible service. Cant place a take out order over the phone. Ive been here 40 min waiting on sushi to go. Cant wait until a decent sushi alternative opens. This place is disgusting. The floor looks like it hasnt been cleaned in ten years. That is all. Enjoy.

We visit Ichiban at least once a month or more when we can. We always eat sushi and it is excellent every time. We get good service, the staff is friendly and the prices are reasonable. Whether you like sushi or hibachi, Ichiban is a great place to eat!
