We rush to this restaurant after a meeting I had because my sister wanted to try the place out before placing a big catering order for her workplace. So we walk in 45 minutes before the restuarant closes and end up being the only people there. The funny thing is our waitress was almost perfect, she memorized our drinks and orders perfectly without writing it down. The food was great and came out quite fast too. She brought the tab way early, they turned off a few lights, and they turned off the music which was fine as we respected they wanted to get everything done asap since we were the only ones left. We ate as quickly as we could even though we were trying to celebrate our friend getting a new job while also trying it out for my sisters sake (figured we could kill two birds with one stone). Anyways, things go great, we split the check two ways even though we had four people but we were sisters and there was the friend who got the new job. Our friend wanted to pay at least something so my eldest sister tells him he can leave tip but I had already written tip down on my receipt while my other sister who was paying the other half put down $0 for tip. Our friend puts down $5 in cash on the table. We ended up giving almost $10 worth of tip (i just made mine equal to an even number) before making our way to the exit. My sister begins walking towards the waitress to ask her about catering and Im halfway through the door. The waitress actually meets my sister at the door and we think shes about to say "have a goodnight" or "thank you" and instead, she surprisingly says, "tell that girl if shes not going to leave tip, dont come back and eat here no more" to my sister about me (she mistakened my sisters card for mine because I was the one who left the tip). Shes basically glaring and barely meeting our eyes. Shocked, ALL of us turns to look at her and ask her "what?" She repeats herself and we are beyond shocked at how rude she is and how shes ruined the night. Our friend points to the table and says, "the tip is right there on the table" and all she replies is "oh". Not even a single apology. My sister screws the catering and My eldest sister exclaims that we are never coming back the moment we are out the door. This is was the rudest customer service weve ever seen. First off, people are NOT required to leave tip. Second, we actually DID leave tip. Third, for her mistake, dont be expecting any catering order. Never going back again.

Im one of the servers at this restaurant, thank you for everyone who commented positively about the restaurant, as for the negative comments, I can only apologize. Even though, it is not fair to judge a restaurant on single experiences, there are busy times throughout the week and service gets slow, this is what happens with popular restaurants. The servers, and I mean all the servers, do their very best to try and accommodate all customers, anyone who is not working has nothing to do with the restaurant. Most lunch services and Saturday dinner service are our most busiest times but given services such as Monday dinner service, for example, we are more than ready to cater to your every need. Now besides everything in the dining room, the kitchen staff goes through meticulous measures to insure your food tastes good while still being speedy. They also keep everything very clean. As for the repetition of similar dishes, customers are able to request a number of things to individualize their meal by way of requesting a spice tray or other condiments, or by simply telling their server to leave out or include certain ingredients (such as vegetables or meat etc.) We are equipped to meet your needs. Furthermore, the owner of the restaurant, Ms Jee, is incredibly detailed in how she wants customers to experience her restaurant. She always goes out along the long winding roads of Raleigh to get fresh ingredients, adds cheerful additions to the ambiance of the restaurant, makes sure all the food goes out in the correct dining ware, deals with the other headaches of being a restaurant manager all at her expense because she cares deeply about this venture and the customer dining experience. In addition, she also has a home life so...further challenge. Lastly, for any and all vegetarians interested, any vegetarian dished ordered will have absolutely no animal products (no fish sauce etc). Ms. Jee is very careful about that and considers her vegetarian customers seriously. Thank you very much for reading, Please come by, well be happy to serve you. Best Regards, M

I see that the other reviews complement this restaurants food. I wish I could have tried it. My wife and I went there last night and were seated immediately. The restaurant was 50-70% full. It took over 20 minutes for a waiter to come by and take our order. Then we never saw him again. The staff looked frazzled. Waiters were running everywhere, but no food or drink was being served, no orders taken, no bills delivered. There were two young female employees (maitre ds) who did absolutely nothing. They stood around and stared at the customers and then they sat at an empty booth and talked. It looked like nobody in the restaurant knew how to work the cash register. There was a line of 3-4 people waiting to check out at the cash register and the line never got any shorter in the 70+ minutes we were there. It looked like it took about 15 minutes for each person to pay their bill - if they ever got one at all. Tables all around us were complaining. Some people, that came in after us, got their food, ate it and waited over 20 minutes to get the bill. They were P.O.ed. Imagine how we felt! There was another table near us that was there when we arrived that only received their food after we had been there for an hour. After 70 minutes of no waiter and no food, we got up and left. We will never be going back and you should never go there either. We went to a nearby Chinese restaurant called Jin Yuan and received quick, competent service and a delicious meal. Everyone should go there instead.
