Originally, I reviewed the Red Dragon with 5 stars! I had been there many times so it wasnt just a 1 time deal, but after eating there several times lately I have to move them down to only 3 stars. The food is not very good anymore and a few of the staff are rude and talk down to you. Unfortunately I dont think well be back for a while. Original Review: I love going to the Red Dragon for lunch and dinner! They are very nice and the food is amazing. I often go with my grandmother because it is right across the street from her house. No complaints!

Awful service. We ordered sesame chicken for take out and received the wrong item. When we went to the restaurant, our order was not ready and they seemed confused and disorganized. We wouldnt have asked for a replacement, but one of us is allergic to an ingredient in the item that we received. They would not offer a replacement and argued over the phone insisting that they were correct. We were first time customers, and will never be going back to this place.

Best Chinese in Raleigh for take-out, in my humble opinion. Its all your typical Americanized fare, however its always very fresh, not as greasy as other places, and the Won-Ton Soup is absolutely the most flavorful in Raleigh (also, its a cure-all when sick/hungover). To put it in perspective- I will travel from North Raleigh (Creedmore/Lynn area) just for this Chinese. Beware- the take-out line can be quite long.

This Chinese Restaurant is kind of hidden on Fairview Road between St. Marys and Oberlin Road. The parking is in the back, to the side; a little hidden but if you look for it, you will find it. The food is good; pretty traditional Chinese menu. It seems to be family owned and they work hard to make sure that you are happy and taken care of. I suggest you try it; its a neighborhood restaurant and very quaint.

Cant say enough good things about this place - best Chinese in the area! The staff is always kind and friendly, they are super efficient, and its a great lunch spot! Reasonably priced and delicious food. I have been going to Red Dragon for 8 years, and I gladly drive past at least 3 other Chinese restaurants to get there. Its worth it.

Not a huge fan. I had their Triple Delight special consisting of chicken, beef and shrimp with brown sauce. The sauce was largely watery and flavorless. I also tried their fried eggplant which was soggy and, again, mostly flavorless. The woman who waited on me was very nice but I was pretty disappointed in the dishes I purchased.

Had a wonderful lunch with my two boys there yesterday. Fantastic fresh made food! Everything tasted handmade and came out in excellent timing. Wonderful attentive, friendly service! Good portion sizes and excellent value for money. Small dining area, I would call ahead if you have a large party.

This place is OK but so expensive for chinese food! Somehow I paid $32.00 for general tsos and fried rice. I dont care who you are, thats just crazy. You can see where they blank out the prices online, they also wont give you a receipt unless you ask for one which is unethical in itself.

Being a Brooklyn native who lived over one of the best fast-food style Chinese restaurants ever, I find its really hard to get good Chinese in NC. This place is not stupendous, but its decent Chinese food and not too expensive. Their soup isnt as good as the rest of the food, however.

Why would you eat Chinese food anywhere else in Raleigh? The price is the same as the cheap places on Hillsborough street, but at Red Dragon the meat is fresh and well cooked, and the rice is fluffy and just right. Also, one of the first fresh fortune cookies Ive ever had.

Have been going to Red Dragon since the late 80s! Great place located in a mostly residential neighborhood...small, few tables so get there early. They do a fantastic takeout business. Food is great and the people are wonderful! Its a locals hidden treasure.

Red Dragon is always dependable. They always have good fresh food. The lunch menu has fewer options than the dinner menu so if you want your favorite go to you might want to call ahead. Small, quiet atmosphere. Nothing fancy its all about good quality food.

Grossly over priced. Ordered their chicken and broccoli spicy, which was just sprinkled with red pepper flakes, with chicken fried rice. There was no flavor and was terribly bland. Worst Chinese food Ive ever had. Total price was about $22, absolutely absurd.

A great hidden gem in Raleigh. The restaurant is small and intimate. Service is always quick and friendly. The meals are fresh and full of flavor. I recommend the Wong tong soup with crispy noodles and some hot tea. Its a great lunch spot!

Hot and Sour Soup is very good with the added benefit of each one being 2 dollars its cheap and worth the money. Spring rolls are good aswell especially when you add the hot mustard. I would come back here again if only for the soup.

Went here for the first time after looking at the ratings. Got Generals Chicken and Chicken LoMein. Generals chicken was soggy. The LoMein were really thick with no flavor whatsoever. Will definitely wont go back here again!!

I would only recommend this as a take out place, the interior is kind of cramped and not all that inviting. The crab rangoon and the lo mein were great, but the generals chicken was very bland and not all that appealing.

I like the food and in fact live down the street but it drives me crazy that they dont have prices listed online so that you can order to go and know that youre not spending $30 on a meal for yourself to eat at home

Red Dragon is one of our favourite local family restaurants. The staff are very friendly and greet us by name.We find the food to be tasty and especially enjoy each ordering something different then sharing around.

Red Dragon is one of those ITB spots that will always do well because they have so many regulars that live within a 5 mile radius. The best chinese food in Raleigh hands down with great lunch specials!

Kung Pao tasted like it was made with ketchup. Shrimp tasted canned and stale. Had a similarly bad experience before and thought it might have been a one-time thing.

Good place for a pretty quick lunch. Not a lot seating, so can be full at times. Decent seasoning on the American Chinese classics.
