As far as bars that serve food in Raleigh. Lynnwood Grill and Oak and Dagger are my top two favorite places. While its my first visit to Oak and Dagger they made a huge impression. We tried a few beers from the bar and settled on the SmOAK and Dagger and the the Loophole. (I forget the full name) we had the cheese curds and asparagus for the apps and I had the Three Cheese Burger and my girlfriend had the Chicken Sandwich. Both were delicious and made to perfection. After we ate we spoke to Pete and he accompanied us to their bottle shop and gave us the grand tour. Nick in the bottle shop have us some samples to try. We tried a couple of beers they had on tap their and it was just absolute perfection. The Chocolate Hazelnut English pub beer was just like drinking hazelnut chocolate milk. The Yesteryear mint beer was like eating a piece of dark chocolate with mint pieces. These guys have such good beers. They brew on site and have some of the best beers in Raleigh. The greatest thing about this place is they try a little something different with their beers each time they brew so its never the same beer you had before. Hands down I cant wait to go back. Great food, even greater beer. This place has won me over.

The only reason Im not giving a two star is the food was good, and staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was nice. They dont have a large food menu. We came in around lunch and well yes we were a large party, the place still had less people than normal lunch rush. They took almost 5 minutes to just give some of the people water. After about 10 minutes they finally got around to taking orders. The food probably took 15 minutes to get just three of us and took longer for others. There was no condiments on the table, and we asked twice before we finally got some. I asked for jalapeños added, and but they were out, but yet somehow the had a jalapeño aioli and slaw. I was told they were prepared the day before. I know this place is new but they need to step up their game if they want to stay. I was told by someone else that came with a large group a few days ago they had a similar experience with the place. I didnt get any beer but was told it was good by others that did. In my opinion, if service steps up this could become the go to place, and worth a visit if youre not in a large party.

The Oak and Dagger burger was SO SO SO good! The fried gouda was perfect on it. The duck sandwich was way too sweet, though. Had to ask for hot sauce to cut through the sweetness. We also had a special of the day, "Devils on Horseback," bacon wrapped dates. It came with 6 dates and was $7. It tasted like it had been sitting for awhile. Didnt feel worth $7 since they werent even fresh. Their beers were pretty good, but wish they had some more basic options too. Like a pale ale to go better with all foods. Overall, wed definitely go back, even if just for that burger.

Brews were ok . Tried a pilsner and a pale ale. It seems like this menu has an identity crisis and cant decide what to do. The app list is a little odd for a brewery . Wings were ok and smokey and the black bean hummus (there are no nachos) came with a micro sized portion pita bread , that was refilled , and we still left about 2 cups of dip there on the table . Id recommend simplifying the menu a bit more , still put a classy hipster touch on it and see what happens . But what do I know Im just doing a review on Google

Brew pub and or public house are hard terms to describe a place. Especially if you are not sure what they are. They both describe a place that allow you to be you. That is the main goal. It also helps that they are a brewery. But not forgetting that they serve amazing food ( the #1 burger in Raleigh). What also surprised me about this place is that I can get liquor. I love my brown booze. My Mom likes that she can order a glass of wine. This place seems like a no brainier to me.

Stopped in for a late lunch. The burger was done to perfection and my wifes duck was delicious as well. We had peach cider, also delicious. Later, went to the back of the store where they have a whole array of local and foreign beer. They young man had amazing knowledge of beer and history of beer. Spent a great 1/2 hour learning more about beer than I know existed. We plan to make this a regular stop when we go through Raleigh.

Not good! We live in the neighborhood and our neighbors brought us to try it out after raving about it. We all left very disappointed and they were apologizing by the end of the meal. The food was bland and the ipas were blander. We left pelagic to head over to eat and after having some really tasty beer at the pelagic, we were quite let down. Hopefully it improves, but we wont be back for a while

We were fans of tylers taproom so we had to go try oak and and dagger when we found out they had taken over the space. We were not disappointed. The beers were incredible and the food was delicious, varied, and reasonably priced. I highly recommend the coffee brown ale and the three cheese burger. One of the best burgers Ive had in Raleigh. We will be back!

Only had a few beers here but the ones I had were great! I think I had the Crystal Dagger (or something like that - its a hefeweizen) and it was something to write home about. Just a quick note - a lot of their beers come with small mixes of fruit to give it more flavor (which works extremely well).

Excellent Fish and crisps. Crisps were not potato chips like I was expecting but more like a seared crispy potato cake. Fish was delicious and the coffee beer went surprisingly well with the meal. Nice atmosphere and it is neat to see all the brew items to make the beer.

Its a great place to come to hangout with friends. The food and beer are really good. Make sure you check out their bottle shop behind the brewery. You can get some obscure interesting beers and one off batches on tap that they dont offer in the main brewery.

Delicious food. Comes out hot and fresh. The wings were pretty good, the burger is amazing. It comes a little over cooked (ordered medium rare and got a little above medium) but it was still super juicy and amazing. Highly recommended.

All of their beers are hopped up and bitter. They dont sell any other beers. So if you want something more normal you cant get it. Almost everything on the menu is hopped up and bitter. Even their limited range of mixed drinks is bitter.

Always a great time! I just keep going back. The atmosphere is great, as well as the beer selection, and the food. I just love this place! Today I tried the Mahi taco... And it was fantastic! I will definitely buy that dish again.
