Great food, great beer options, but service leaves much to be desired. Server apparently decided to hate us after 1 person in the group wasnt ready to order their drink 5 minutes after we sat down (our first time there also). Ill readily admit I made a mistake in telling her the beer I received wasnt the beer I ordered, but she proceeded to just pour another one and give me a fake smile and a fake "the customer is always right" attitude. After realizing I made the mistake (not her) I said I was very sorry and I told her to make sure to charge me for both. Not sure if she did or not, because when she brought the check I dared to look at the bill for 2 seconds to just see how much the total was (because I like to tip with cash and wanted to plan if I had enough cash for the tip), and got an eye-rolling from her. I believe in still tipping for poor service, and left a LOT more than she deserved. Also, family of 6 sat down after us (with another server), ordered after us, and got their food before we did. Our order was 3 burgers and 1 salad...not very complicated...If you get the brunette with the tats and the tude, Id suggest you just get a drink and leave. Ill be trying out the other places in town on my next visit to Sperryville before I head back to Headmasters. Its a shame, I can see it being a place Id come back to because of the great food and casual atmosphere, but not if Im going to be treated like we were on our first visit.

Im a Rappahanock resident and have visited twice in the past month to hear two great local bands. Last night was Gold Top Country Ramblers, who rocked the house. (They get 100 stars!). However, once again the wait staff service was incredibly poor. We waited 20 minutes, only to give up waiting, for our beverage order to be TAKEN. Never did get a chance to enjoy one of the many fine beers on their list. If youre not a bar regular, youll be ignored. Very disappointing.

Stopped in for an early dinner and were not expecting much more than your basic pub, but we were pleasantly surprised. The wings were much better than what weve had in some other places - piping hot, lots of meat on them and smothered in a delicious sauce. Also had a nice salad. Comfortable setting and attentive service. Will be back if we are in the area.

Made a stop at Headmasters Pub and absolutely loved the Chipotle Burger! Everything about it was delicious! Even the slaw was out of the ordinary and just perfect! If you are in the area or just passing through, you must stop to have a yummy bite!

My wife and I had an absolutely fabulous time. The burgers and fries were great and the service and atmosphere were very warming. The music (Robby Limon) was outstanding and not obtrusive at all. Well be back for more.

Probably the best place around. Strange atmosphere, but clean bathrooms for a stop during a road trip! Tried the fries as we were passing through, which were great. The other food looked good too.

Cool place to stop by eat a good meal and shop local. On the day of my visit the service was slow, but management made up for it by giving our group free appetizers. Theae guys are great!
