Good, casual dining. Its one of the best bar/restaurants youll find anywhere with a large, creative and varied menu, but the food is not as good as most "posh casual" dining places. Had a Hanley burger (named for the owner) which included a raw, sliced jalapeno pepper, fried egg and pepper jack cheese. Also, had a cup of Irish stew and two beers. We were there about a week after they opened and they were experiencing some logistical problems. Wait time for a table when we arrived at 8pm on a Thursday was about ninety minutes. (Same wait time when we returned two weeks after they opened). Fortunately, we saw some folks leaving the bar, so we bellied-up and ordered our food. On a quick tour of the pub, I noticed several tables "closed" to patrons. A hostess explained that they just couldnt fill all the seats right now for fear of over-burdening the kitchen. Smart move. So, when our food arrived within about ten minutes, we were pleasantly surprised. Fish sliders were great: not too much bun. Hanley burger was fantastic, served on a tasty brioche roll. Love the house-made beef grind: a 60/40 mix of chuck and brisket. Corned beef and cabbage was too salty. Youd expect the beef to be salty, but the cabbage should be less so. The eating utensils are over-the-top beautiful. Not what you see at most pubs (or restaurants). However, they didnt quite mesh with the image set by paper napkins, but perhaps they will switch to linens once they get settled in. About $35 per person for app, one entree item and one drink (gratuity not included). Allow about 45 minutes (no apps, no dessert) NOT including wait time for a table.

Its a Sunday and we just returned from a visit to the North Raleigh Hibernian Irish Pub & Restaurant. Given the crowds we observe overflowing the restaurant on a Saturday night, we expected a very "special" experience. But alas, we wont be going back anytime soon!!! I had, by far, the worst corned beef and cabbage I ever ate at any restaurant, and believe me Ive had this meal all over the east coast. The meal had absolutely no flavor. At first, I thought the corned beek was actually roast beef in disguise as it was brown in color and appeared to have been in the freezer since St. Patricks day. The cabbage, or whatever it was, was crunchy but had none of the traditional cabbage flavor. The parsley cream sauce was bland ... and the meal was barely warm. There was no bread or Irish soda bread offered. At $14 for the plate, the meal was definitely overpriced. The best part of the meal was the side Caesar Salad. My dining partner selected the Chicken and Chips. Like the corned beef, the chicken lacked any detectable flavor. The "chips" were cold and soggy and should have been discarded about 30 minutes before we arrived. We couldnt discern the catsup from the BBQ sauce that accompanied the meal. The decor was OK. We sat in a booth, but the table and benches rocked on the uneven flooring. Being concerned that my dining partners glass of wine was going to tip, we tried to touch the table as minimally as possible. On the bright side, the service was very prompt. We were in and out in 35 minutes.

Female get treat not nice by the female employees. The females area in line to get wait on. They will wait on males instead of females. And females have to complain to get wait on. The same behavior of Hostess and Waitress. Talk back rude, rush to get rid of, yell at, run away while the females are talking to them. And females have to ask them to come back and finish the job.Try to stick the fingernails into the skin of hand of guests/females,eat while wait on them, not want to wait on them. And run away. The hostess threw the menu on table. And ran away. We were seated at the bar. And we wondered what the delay was. The bartender told us there was an hour wait. We had to ask the man sitting next to us To ask the waitress to wait on us She would not volunteer to do anything for us. We had to ask her to write down the order.r She said not want to . We said it was time to call the manager. She said she would write it down. She would not volunteer to bring us bread. And also she was only nice to male customers. We saw the female next to us. Get a hamburger between to pieces of white bread. And bartender said not have rolls. We left. The waitress not want to do much for customers. She left customers to eat a meal. She brought was water with 3/4 ice. And we said to her we not want any ice.

The one off Glenwood is much better. When on Friday night, it was fairly busy but not too bad. My friend and I were seated in an empty area though. We waited between 10 and 15 minutes before the bartender came over and said she wasnt sure if she was our server or if we actually had one. So she takes our drink order, drops them off, and leaves. We were already ready to order when she dropped the drinks off, but she left without asking. Then, she returned and took our food order. Someone dropped off our food, didnt ask if we needed anything else, just walked off. So I had to flag down the waitress after a few minutes so I could get some ranch. After we got our food, our waitress competed ignored us. Other people would walk by, but not her. We waited forever to get our check, then just as long for the waitress to come back and get it. Actually, another waitress had to take our check to our waitress. The food was decent. My friends salad looked and tasted like the lettuce was going bad so they decided to get rid of it by giving it to customers. Fish and chips were good. Sandwich was good, hard to mess up a sandwich though. Overall, if you want hibernian but you want it to be good, go to the one off Glenwood.

I have a mixed opinion on Hibernian. On one hand, I ate at the downtown location and the fish and chips were good, the atmosphere was clean, friendly and looked great. On the other hand, I tried the Falls of Neuse location, and the food was... eh. The waiter we had was not good, but the manager was great. My burger was bland, and for being the "most popular" and "Greatly suggested" burger, it tasted like they just took some beef and cooked it with no thought or seasoning. I asked for medium rare, I got well. I asked for crispy bacon, I got near raw. The new bacon came out and it was burned. Maybe it was an off day for the chef. Other than that, the manager was extremely nice about everything and we felt like they actually cared about the mistakes that were made. Ill return to see if they can manage to improve this rating and update it when and if they do.

Worst Service Ive ever received! Being a peer in the service industry, I feel obligated to give any server the benefit of the doubt. This was horrendous. None of our food came out at the same time. First my food, then my husbands appetizer, then my side, then his food, then his side. All at separate times. Our water glasses were NEVER refilled. I am astonished. She didnt come back for payment for almost 10 minutes and the place was dead. Literally, 2 other tables in the entire restaurant. We were planning on going to this location for St.Pattys Day, but will change our plans and head downtown.
