Today I went to this "authentic Korean restaurant for dinner". Every since I moved to Charlotte, I went there quite often since the restaurant was my primary source of "Korean cuisine". They have decent soup broths and nice and piping hot Dol Sot (Stone Pot) Bi Bim Pap. Today was just one of my personal visits to dive into the realm of MOUTH WATERING and savory beef broth. (Sul Lung Tang) $12.99. The reason why I gave this restaurant a 1/5 stars was its BAD WAITERS and FOOD QUALITY. Today, I came during the more busier times where there was more people. Many people know that the side dishes, "Ban Chan" are free when you visit there. MY FIRST REASON WHY I GAVE THIS RESTAURANT A BAD REVIEW WAS BECAUSE I ASKED FOR THE BEAN SPROUTS AND THE PICKLED SEAWEED. THE WAITER WHO ALREADY HAD SLOW SERVICE TO US, EVEN THOUGH WE ARRIVED BEFORE THE GROUP NEXT TO OUR TABLE, FAILED TO GIVE THE SIDE DISHES. TO BE HONEST, I CAN EXCUSE THAT BECAUSE IT WAS A BUSY DAY. THE THING THAT REALLY IRKED ME TODAY WAS THAT FIRSTLY THE WAITER ONLY GAVE US THE SIDE DISHES FOR ONE TURN ONLY. EVEN THOUGH YOU CAN HAVE MORE REFILLS TO A CERTAIN EXTENT. (NOT UNLIMITED LOL!) I personally asked the one of two waiters working there whether I can get a second turn for myself and to go with the white rice. The waiter states that they ran out of the bean sprouts and that they are making new ones. After 20 minutes or so, when my food arrives, I spot that there is still the bean sprouts and that it is given to other tables nearby. SO IN SHORT, I HAD TO EAT MY DINNER WITHOUT COUPLE MORE ROUNDS OF SIDE DISHES, SERVED IN TINY LITTLE MINI-PLATES. The second reason why todays visit to the restaurant was a shortcoming was due to the lack of garnish in my beef broth soup. Sul Lung Tang. You many believe that this is just a trivial thing that does not really matter, but during my numerous previous visits, everything was on point. The soup lacked flavor without the use of salt and pepper. Additionally, my friends ordered the Ae Gu Tang, which was a hot and spicy fish egg soup. My second friend ordered the hot and spicy cod fish soup. The egg lacked flavor and was frozen. There was only like three little thumb sized pieces. For the cod fish soup, it only had couple pieces of fish meat, with mostly bone. My final words for today was the use of tips. Personally, I believe in giving tips to those "hard working" waiters. Well today, even though I had 5 people, with my total bill adding up to 51 dollars, the tip which the waiter includes at the very beginning, was 9 dollars. Apparently it is 20 percent of the total bill. I personally felt that I could not give tips that much for such little service and effort. The waiter did not even come to our tables, only twice when delivering the water/tea and delivering the actual dinners. The waiter did not even state whether you want side dishes, or refilling our cups or asking whether the food is good or not. IN SHORT, everything was due to the poor service and bad food quality. THE RESTAURANT IS DEGRADING AND FALLING BELOW THE QUALITY LEVEL. I HOPE THAT THIS COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW SERVES YOU WELL, AND HAVE YOU PONDER ON WHETHER TO GO THERE OR NOT! HAPPY EATING!

The food here is good, but not worth the terrible customer service. The waitress (Kelly) was horrible, she ignored us the whole time we were there. She never greeted us, thanked us or even checked on us once. The only way we could get her to acknowledge us was to ring the bell. Even when she came, she had an agitated scowl on her face. She gave us two serving utensil for a party of three, when we rung the bell to asked she listened to our request and turned around without acknowledgment. We had to ring the bell for refills and again for the check. She just tossed it on the table and left, yet she would check on other customers. Needless to say, we left her 0 tip. This is where the experience goes from horrible to nightmare. We had our 3 yr old son with us, as we left and were getting our son in his car seat. She came running out of the place yelling and screaming at us for not tipping. We told her tipping is based on service and she ignored us the whole time. She said she brought us food and refill... I said that is part of the restaurant experience, however tip is for the good service not poor service. She yelled at us this is how she makes a living and got in my face. I reinterated that she ignored us and we were not tipping for the poor service. At which she got irate and continued to get aggressive and in my face. I told her I would call the police if she didnt leave our car and leave us alone. My husband stepped in and told her to go back inside. She wanted to continue arguing and he told her to go away now. She ran off back inside. I went to talk to the guy at the register to see if he was the owner. Her behavior was completely unacceptable especially in front of my child. A different waitress had come from the outside, she ran out the back door to see what was going on. She apologized and said that Kelly the waitress was not supposed to do that and as she was talking to me, Kelly the waitress ran up and told me go away and tried to shut the door on me. The other waitress stopped her and told her to go back to work. She apologized even though it was not her fault. Weve been to this place almost 3 years and this new waitress Kelly is horrible. She demands a tip for horrible service just because she brings us the food. The nice waitress that usually serves us know that we tip well, but its based on the service. I do not recommend this place unless you want a verbally aggressive waitress to attack you in front of your child because you choose to tip her or not. They are usually short staffed and the wait is long to get your food, but topping that off with this type of behavior really sealed the deal for us. Good food or not, this is a regular that will no longer be returning. I only gave a one star because its the minimum to make a post, otherwise it would be 0 stars. I am also looking into further legal actions.

Would like to give zero star. First of all, their sanitation rate is 90.00. Yes, 90.00... It is lower than most fast food places.. And youd wonder why it is so low. Our family was a regular customer until yesterday. It was very busy Sunday afternoon. We ordered a stew like we usually do( spicy sausage casserole). It has 4 pieces of tofu in it. However, when we tasted them, they were really bad, taste like some rotten eggs. Even my 6 year old couldnt eat it and spit it out. I thought my taste was weird that day so gave some to my husband and he spit it out as well. We called the server to ask to talk to the manage but he brought us back a piece of tofu that they think is fresh, thus assuming the tofu we ate is fine. The tofu they brought us was fresh, tasting just fine, but ours was just horrible. They didnt even apologize. We had to talk several times about our bad tofu but nothing was happening. We were completely ignored. They took off $3 for the tofu and didnt even bother coming out to apologize. We told them we were never coming back. We were very disappointed and frustrated. Our advice is be cautious of what you eat there. Make sure all the ingredients they use are fresh.
