Oakcrest Family Restaurant - the name in itself makes you think that perhaps this restaurant is family friendly, meaning friendly to families; however, after my visit tonight I found that to be 100% untrue. The waitress was wonderful. She was attentive and very friendly. Unfortunately it seemed like she was the only one. We were there for almost an hour and still didnt get our food. I have a 2 year old who was getting fussy because he was hungry. I am one who normally will take my child out if they are completely causing a scene. Today he was not causing a scene. He was just being a normal unhappy hungry child who occasionally got loud so image my completely shock when the manager comes over and says "We cant have screaming babies in here." I thought she was joking at first. After all, they are a "family" restaurant and children and babies are part of a family. Then she said "We have a large party and old people here. You can take him outside." The level of rudeness she used was ridiculous. I got up and took my children and my mother out of the restaurant even though our food had just arrived. I felt sorry for the waitress quite frankly because now she has been deprived of a well deserved tip because we had to walk out. I can honestly say this restaurant has the rudest management I have ever seen. I have never been so offended by someone for such little cause. Yes my child did make noise and was unhappy but not to the level where I should have been spoken to like that. As I was leaving there was another child crying. One has to wonder if they also were treated badly because they had a child who was probably hungry and waiting on their very slow cooks to send out their food.

Went for the first time the other night because I had a coupon, will not go again. Should have known something was up because the place was empty.... my family and I walked in and stood for about 10 minutes before someone even came to seat us... I ordered the prime rib dinner with okra and mashed potatoes. About 3/4 of the meat was inedible, the potatoes were cold and the okra was BURNT. So I asked the waitress if she could get me some hot Mashed Potatoes, SHE CAME BACK WITH THE SAME ONES. She microwaved them, it looked like crap. AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL!!!! If your on that side of town and want something to eat... Just go to Arbys across the street, it will be cheaper and better.

Best breakfast in town! They have a "Hungry Man" special 2 eggs bacon and 2 pancakes 2.99! You cant get that at McDonalds! The service is great always smiling. Plus you always hear the waitress saying the regulars names. I think that is awesome, some even know what they order. I will be back for sure the new renovations are awesome so much better. The food gets better every time I go back I just dont know why I waited so long to come here. I know there is alot of old people but I know how old people either like it or not. Also the Chicken Slovakia is SOOO GOOD!!! WIll be back very SOON! :)

Surprised to see the negative reviews, but I did not start eating here until the remodel. Its a "canes and walkers" kind of place. The country-style food is usually good, served quickly, and not too expensive. Service is friendly, but moves at a laid-back pace. Monday night is kids night, and there is an older amateur magician. If you do not have kids, avoid it like the plague. I eat here when I want "real food" and not in a hurry. Definitely worth a try.

Walked in this restaurant with 3 people BEHIND me who were seated BEFORE me.. (Typically its first come first served at any restaurant)...Even attempted to correct the blatant mistake of the host/server who proceeded to ignore me. Needless to say I wont be returning here where I obviously cant be treated equally in 2016 where white customers are valued more at this "family restaurant"..yall enjoy, I wont be recommending this place to ANYONE!

Since we meet friends for breakfast every Sunday, we have gotten to know the staff and management well. We have always had great service and if there is any dissatisfaction from our table, it is handled promptly and at no charge. It is the only restaurant my Pennsylvania husband has found that serves REAL home fries (with grilled onions). I do not eat grits, except at Oakcrest. So they must be doing something right.

The manager was so rude and one of the worst in the business. I will never go there again and warn you to avoid this restaurant. The food is quite bland and the manager is not family friendly at all. Should not be called a family restaurant if they cannot treat all customers properly.

Horrible service and the hot food was served cold. I have given this establishment 2 tries, because anyone can have a bad night. But horrible service seemed to be the standard. Both visits were equally as miserable and how this place stays open is beyond me.

A friend told me Mon. nites kids eat for free, so I decided to give it a try. When we got there we had a surprise they also have a magic man. He was great with my kids. The service was fast and friendly. We had a wonderful experience. I will for sure be back.

As always it was great. Staff os very nice, the food is always good and the wait time is minimal. Prices are also reasonable and you get your moneys worth. I dont live in Greensboro, but when I shop or visit for whatever reason, I eat at Oakcrest.

I had stopped going to Oakcrest. Because I ate the baked chicken, and got really sick. I knew the chicken tasted funny, but I was hungry. Someone told my husband they were under new mgmt. So we have it a try and its better than ever.

Amazing! I love this restaurant so much. They fit the best hamburger and fries. I also love to get breakfast there sometimes. Service is excellent. The owner is very friendly and often comes to greet us. I highly recommend it!!

Blah food for the elderly. Plain Jane cafe with nothing really to offer beyond the scope of food that will simply fill your stomach. Atmosphere is classic senior citizen. If this is ur cup a tea then u wont leave disappointed.
