Service was terrible (except for young man filling water glasses , made sure we always had water). Wait staff walked past us without acknowledgement for at least 20 minutes. Food, when we finally received, it was good, but portions were small- 2 slices of potato, 3 asparagus spears. Never asked if we wanted coffee or desert. I like not being rushed in a restaurant, but at least get us a drink in a timely manner- other than water! I did notice that some people came in after us, had drinks, ordered food and had salad before we were approached (but we had water). Perhaps if you are a regular you get service. Well, based on our experience, we wont be back. 2 stars for every thing except the young man with the water- he gets 5 and should have received our total tip!

Great experience. From Rochester and stopped in because we were driving back through Utica from a weekend getaway in the Adirondacks and went here through recommendations from friends. Staff were well dressed and very pleasant to talk to. Ambiance is very romantic and comfortable. Our waitress was great. Food was excellent. They invented their Chicken Riggies dish which is a Utica area dish. Also had the greens morele for an appetizer which was also excellent. Our other meal was the veal matteo which was the best veal Ive ever had. Everything about this place was excellent. K n top of that, all i listed above and a drink from the bar only came up to $56. We will be back again next time through Utica.

Nice place with cozy atmosphere to have your romantic dinner here, even we arrived near their closing time: the staff still welcoming us with warm smiles and provide full dining experience: appetizer, main meal, dessert even offered us to have coffee and digestive. Special thanks to Rachel for her patience repeating their daily menus as we still not used with strong US accent and perfect wine pairing she choose for our meal. We end up as the last customer for that night as we check out almost midnight. & IF you decide to make a stop after reading this review, please send our regard to Rachel.

Went to Chesterfield restaurant as a family. We are from Maryland and we wanted to come get our chicken riggies and shrimp riggies and rice balls and Utica greens! It did not disappoint! We sat in the Cozy room with the brick oven. Loved it! Our waitress Rachel was amazing! We met the owner on the sidewalk after we were finished eating. Everyone was so accommodating! We will definitely eat here again if we are ever in town again! I would recommend it to anyone! If you are not from the area this is where you need to go to satisfy your local foodie needs!

Terrible in every way. Staff bumbled about and socialized among themselves while ignoring taking orders. Food is at best mediocre and way, way overpriced. Even the food execution is awful - cold food served. Cannoli half filled (and cost $$$). A nearby diner wanted to send back Riggies and the waiter argued they were fine; completely ludicrous, near surreal and not anywhere near professional. The diner had to insist several times and finally called the manager. Pass on this dump passing themselves off as a fine dining experience.

I love Chesterfields... delicious food, friendly staff, classy yet laid back atmosphere. Prepare to be wow-ed by some seriously delicious food. To the reviewer that said it was too expensive, you might feel more comfortable wearing your jeans and tshirt ordering off the dollar menu at McDonalds. Ive been to Chesterfields 20 times and have never had a bad meal. Also, you get what you pay for... if you want a relaxing delicious dinner by candelight, go to Chesterfields.

I have been there with my wife every year for the last 6 years, to celebrate our anniversary. We have been very pleased with the atmosphere and the service has always met or exceeded our expectations. The main reason we keep returning is the fantastic food that is in our opinion, if not the best in the city, at least one of the best. We plan to continue to go back for years to come.

Theyre basically robbing you. Their website says that the cheapest dish is $8 and that it was updated as of 2017, but its a lie. Their cheapest dish is actually $14. On top of this, it took forever to get our food. About 90 minutes passed between ordering and receiving our food. The quality of food and service do not justify the price and wait either.

This was a perfectly paced and enjoyable meal. Our relative frequents the place and said everything was good... and it was. Our waitress was great with children. The food was great, too. It is pricey compared to (some menu items at) an Olive Garden, but I think the food was worth it. There was a very joyful vibe among the patrons which was nice.

We went there for lunch and ordered the mozzarella appetizer as well as the stuffed pepper appetizer, which was amazing! I have got to say this is the best food I have ever had for appetizers. Everything was made from scratch. We were very impressed with the service, atmosphere, etc. Next time we are in town we plan on making this our first stop.

I really enjoy their food and the atmosphere here. Theyve gone through a lot of renovations and have added some classy touches. Its a sharp looking restaurant. We had our 20th class reunion there. Everyone at the reunion really enjoyed themselves. They had a lot of menu and bar options for us to choose from for the party as well.

After a 2 hour wait the food was decent. The waiter tried but the service was extremely slow and they ran out of food and desert. Next time better planning when opening on a Sunday... Disappointed on the portions and instead of offering salads with our dishes they stuff you with bread and charge for everything separate.

There isnt a thing on the menu that doesnt sound amazing, plus there is a wide variety of options. The staff is great. Its a fancy venue with no push by the staff to get you "out of the way". Plan accordingly as it can be quite busy during peak hours

My wife and I went here for dinner. The food was excellent. There was a cozy and romantic ambience to the place. In terms of service, when our waitress was available, service was excellent. There were a few times we felt forgotten about though.

This is the birthplace of Utica greens. Old school doesnt mean has-been. The food was good and the staff was amazing; not to mention the beautiful decor. I would travel hours for the experience, but I am only 30 minutes away. Hurray for me!

I would need to rate their food as best and worst! Its odd, I go there for dinner, and never get a good meal. However, I go for a party, and the food is probably the best! Hate the seating also. Service is usually pretty good.

Always a great place to get a drink and some good Utica Italian food. I love the thin crust pizza with long hots! We buy trays of greens and riggies for company parties and its always a hit. Service is always fantastic.

Lots of great Italian food in Utica, always has been. However, The Chesterfield on Bleecker Street is my favorite of them all ( and Im very picky about Italian food as I was raised.) You will not be disappointed!!!
