Holy moly. What have I been eating all my life? I had the fried chicken here and it was amazing -- turned my life around. There will be no other fried chicken that comes close to this delicious masterpiece. Roost Chicken Fried Chicken-topped w/sausage gravy, w/home fries and greens... I thought the home fries would be just regular tasting but the sausage gravy moved around like a salsa dancer in my mouth. I wish that I could have even more sausage gravy but it definitely was enough for the portion!!! DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!! I NEED TO DRINK IT. The "greens" was also so fresh and I havent had much salad that had a crunch to it. If all salads were like this I think I would eat more. The waitress we had was also very friendly and even offered to take our partys picture, knowing that we were "tourists" hah! The big camera probably didnt fool them. She was giving us tips from the locals on what to see and where to go. Beautiful lady with a beautiful soul! I could not believe they also sold stumptown coffee, which being from the good old nyc -- I APPRECIATED A LOT. The coffee really topped the sundae of a breakfast at this place. Please please please visit here. I wish I could LIVE here.

In addition to its convenient location and easy parking, The Roost also has some really delicious, interesting menu offerings. Yes, some are standard - like burgers (which are excellent) But some are less standard like Swordfish or the Cobb Salad with Gorgonzola. The quality of ingredients and attention to detail is high. And they manage to be authentic, rather than pretentious. The staff is very genuine. We always leave very satisfied and have been back many times for both breakfast and dinner.

I actually dont give Five stars that often but this place is pretty good. The service is really friendly, and the coffee is always nice and strong but doesnt taste burnt. The place feels like an antic diner but with better food the only complain I can give is that ONCE out of like 50 times Ive been there the Sword Fish tasted/smelled fishy, but yeah you should totally check it out. Also who wouldve thought that fried chicken and waffles go so well together.

Came in with large group of 8, would be tough to accommodate so we all say at the bar and 2 at a table. Staff was super cool and did not make a big deal about our group size. Great beers on tap, nitro cold brew coffee, crafted soda. Burger was amazing I got it with the salad, wife ordered corn beef with gluten free bread. Fries are good as well made in house not frozen.

Super fresh, great service with a smile, ample portions, and an unbeatable value! You cant get better food at this price, wines are amazing and just as value driven. Going back very soon. Chef Alex, who you can see through the semi-open kitchen is a capable kitchen talent, and worthy of checking this spot out for dinner. Brunch review is next on my list.....

My boyfriend and I literally come here every weekend multiple times and cant get enough of it! One of the best places in the area and its fairly affordable. We love the avocado skillets, the B.L.A.T. is amazing, and just everything is perfect. We sometimes stop for dinner too and its even cozier!

Staff handled our unannounced large group of 6 plus a baby without a hitch. Server was very attentive and concerned with our experience. Very good food. Great local artistic photography. Stumptown coffee should not be missed if coffee is a concern of yours.

Have eaten 4 days in a row Avocado Skillet 2 times my favorite also Egg white omelet w/roasted tomatoes basil pesto and corned beef hash eggs over easy wonderful too. The staff is superb. Every time I come never disappointed. Cant wait for next trip....:)

A hidden gem in the Hudson valley. A real chef, wonderful wait staff. Creative, top notch food (fried chicken in all forms is something special here, and I lived down South for 5 years). If I could give them 6 stars, I would. Highly recommend.

Wonderful, delicious, homemade food. Blueberry panna cotta is delectable! Chicken fried chicken and the fries served with it totally hit the spot. The staff is friendly and very family oriented. This is a definite place to stop for any meal.
