We stopped at this restaurant for breakfast because we wanted to get away from the over-priced, over-hyped food at the restaurants in the casinos. Remember, when you eat at a local restaurant on the Boardwalk, you have to keep an open mind. My Friend reminds me of a typical roadside diner. Now, we only ate breakfast, but we were very satisfied. We joked and laughed with the staff, and all of our orders were they way we wanted them. The breakfast potatoes (sort of a combo between homefries and OBrien potatoes were fresh, flavorful, and not greasy. The toast was just right and was a thicker slice of bread that was already buttered. I also got ham and scrambled eggs. The ham was two thin slices grilled (which I prefer to thicker, dried out ham) and were moist and not too salty. The eggs were cooked just right. I only gave it four stars beacause we only ate breakfast there and I do not know what dinner would be like. If you want the true atmosphere of a Boardwalk restaurant/diner, and a reasonably priced breakfast, I recommend My Friend. Just keep an open mind; remember, this is not fine dining at the snooty Borgata.

The food is passable, but the service from who I presume is the owner is atrocious (the waitresses are great though). Ive been here three times, ordering breakfast each time. Youll receive food quickly, on a paper plate. Along with styrofoam cups and plastic utensils - everything you eat with will be thrown out after you leave. Besides the wastefulness; the reason I stopped going was because I once placed a $20 bill on top of my $11 check and waited for the Greek owner / manager to bring back my change. 10 minutes went by, and the owner never came back. So I finally flagged him down and asked for my change, and he said he kept the entire $20 bill thinking it was a tip (that would be an 80% tip). When I asked for $5 back, he got irate, rolled his eyes and made it seem like going back to the register to get us our change was like asking him to cut off his own leg. Anyway, the Greek owner / manager is a total jerk, and Ive never been back.

I visited this place twice while staying at the Atlantic Place. On both visits the waitresses totally ignored me. The first day, as I sat at the counter for lunch, the waitress never spoke or even looked at me for about 15 minutes. I left. The next day as I sat at the bar for breakfast, the same waitress said she would be with me in a moment. Yes, the place was verfy busy and I gave her an allowance for that. But when she asked a male staff member to go serve other people who had come in after me, that was it. I left. Luckily there is a wonderful place next door who waited on me as if I was spending MONEY! They didnt care what race I was! I compalined to the staff at Atlantic Place and they just said they were sorry I felt unwelcomed at the dinner.

This has to be the worst restaurant that I have ever been to in my life! The waiter was very ignorant and hot tempered. The chinese food was terrible and my chicken was under cooked and smelled like fish!!!! I got into a heated argument with the waiter for adding things to my order which I never ordered in the first place. We ordered 5 lo meins and asked for suggestions on what is good to eat. The greek waiter blurted call me when your ready to order!!! I felt very insulted but kept my cool. He then gave us 5 fried rice with chicken that we never ordered and sent it back. Finally he gave us our lo meins. But on our check he charged $10 extra saying it was our mistake on the orders!!!!

Dont waste your time or money!! Subpar service, paper plates, plastic cups and utensils are wasteful. I ordered scrambled eggs and they were under cooked, slimy in the middle. I dont care for peppers and onions in my hashbrowns but didnt know they came with them so i picked them out. My toast had so much butter on it that i could taste that over the jelly. The workers all had to be careful walking around because the floor (even the dining area) was greasy and the just slid around.

HORRIBE SERVICE!!! I cannot express this enough. the waiter charged our check $30 more than what it should be, and on top of that completely forgot my moms order. she had to wait a half hour after we got our food before she could eat. if I could give this zero stars I would. He also argued with us the whole time about the check. I have never experienced such terrible, disgusting service in my life.

This place should be renamed NOT My Friends diner ! The man who is the owner/waiter is very rude and ignorant . The place was very dirty . They had no central air and kept the door open. The juice I had ordered tasted tart. He had a heated argument with me and my husband over a juice. Do NOT come here . Stay away!

Do not go to this diner. The service was terrible, the breakfast was bad. Ive never seen a diner use disposable plates and forks before and expect to wait 15-20 mins for the waiter to take your order. Worst diner in the U.S.A.
