I like the ambiance, and the music they play. Great historic building. Plus the food is good. Wish they had more meat on the menu, only saw turkey burgers and tuna... but everything Ive had is very good. They list whats vegan, and has dairy etc. Coffee is strong, comparable to starbucks. One bad thing is the amount of flies in there. Ive been there 4 times, every time Ive been surrounded by flies... and its not me (at least I dont think). I can only imagine that the flies are chilling on the food in the kitchen as well. If they get rid of the flies, this place would be much better. I cant help but rate it 3 stars because of this. Oh and the prices are fair.

i have been eating at this cafe for 5 years now, and am finally getting around to putting the word out there. what tipped me? the best breakfast under $5 i have ever eaten. perfectly cooked home fries, crisp toast, and a tofu scramble with garlicky spinach and soycheese. yes, the tofu & cheese were available on the menu in "regular form," the fact that the substitutes are carefully utilized so that you dont feel as if you are eating "fake" foods is what makes this a great, affordable fave spot for people who prefer healthy eats. serving breakfast, lunch & dinner - helpful, friendly staff - may I also mention a fab tapped beer selection?

After having their Stroganoff, I decided to try to become a vegan (for one week) I tried to recreate it but my two attempts were fails. Im sure that if this cafe could make all of my meals, I would be the healthiest person alive...but I have to settle for sporadic visits. The garden is a wonderful place to sit and watch all of the people stopping by to pick up their bottles of the restaurants delicious Japanese dressing....so at least we can at least recreate just a little taste of their great food.

Such a beautiful restaurant with such delicious vegan options! I couldnt choose between the Seitan Banh Mi, the Seitan Gyro and the Tempeh Reuben, so the lovely Carrie helped me decide on the Gyro and it was amazing! The seitan is made locally and so much tastier than commercial seitan, and the portions were filling and delicious. Their Japanese Carrot Ginger dressing is delicious as well! And all their cakes are decadent, delicious and vegan - hurrah for vegan cakes!

Truly delicious food and welcoming wait staff. I rented their upstairs space through airbnb. The place has been beautifully renovated and the back porch which overlooks their garden is inspiring. The food tastes just like they say local sourced; in fact plucked from their back garden. I cant wait to go back and try more stuff and hear some of the amazing musical acts they have coming in.

Love the food. The spinach lasagna and kale salads are delicious. This is a friendly place and they have turned the walls into a fabulous gallery showcasing the works of local artists. Some nights, they host salsa dancing, musicians, and open mics.
