I went to the pizza stop yesterday for the first time. My older sister recommended it. I was pleasantly surprised by the look of the restaurant against what it looks like outside: It has a very nice place dining area and is larger than I would have expected. However, the staff was very short with me and urgent. There was a young man who took my order and a young girl who checked me out. Both just seemed annoyed and tired. In their defense, there was a man ahead of me who seemed to be taking his time grabbing things around the register to buy ( soda, and a brownie?) before paying... I dont expect ANYONE in customer service to be smiling friendly robots. But at the same time, I also do expect people to impatiently rush a customer or give the following ""cooperative customer" the same attitude. I was so uncomfortable that I left without even grabbing napkins or anything. Luckily for me, a man making pizzas was nice- he thanked me and wished me a good day on the way out. The pizza was great, so I will be back. Im hoping the service will be better next time.

I want to give it a 5 star rating. I really do. But let me start off by saying that this pizza is AMAZING. By far my favorite in the Rochester area (that alone deserves a 5 star rating right? Ha wait.) The place is always packed with people, which it should be... I mean their pizza taste so good. Very New York style. But thats not my reason for knocking down a star. After all, thats not their fault. The reason I give it a 4 out of five is because of the staff. Holy crap some of the staff are so rude. Do they need New York city attitude to make New York City pizza? Everytime I walk in there I get a look like I did somthing wrong. Theyve gotten a new guy hes really nice. But ya know..? Im a costumer. I dont want to feel not welcomed. Ill change it back to five stars if I start to feel more welcomed in their pizza establishment in the future. I just hope thats not the reason why I stop going.

I would say that... I lived in Long Island for about a year - during that time I ate some great pies. Coming back to Rochester, the pizza was just... NOT GOOD... e.i. too much bread, not enough sauce/cheese, just not made right. THEN! I went to Pizza Stop right around the corner from my home - they gave me a discount because their delivery person was out sick so they could deliver, and also cut it into squares even though thats a secret no-no :P The Pizza itself was just thin enough, and GOOD!! SO GOOD. Closest I have had to real NYC Pie in a very long time. Thanks guys, your doing great. PS. you should give Britt a raise.

Worst phone etiquette ever. I ordered this morning for an office luncheon and was advised we would have our food delivered at 12:15. Time goes by, Ive got hungry people and after two phone calls with a very rude individual who refused to put a manager on because he said they were busy. Finally it was confirmed that our order was going to be delivered at 12:50. So...a warning - if you are going to order from here for your office, call 2 days in advance, and CONFIRM the CORRECT TIME and get a name of whoever you speak with.

I ordered pizza with extra pepperoni and extra mushrooms on it because thats the way I like it after about 10 minutes I got my pizza finally the crust was good the and I was very upset about that and I was complaining that the mushrooms raw and the owner of the pizzeria came over and threatened me and said shes your problem here and I said yes the mushrooms are really goes well I told you they were fresh mushrooms he was quite rude to me and I felt intimidated and Afraid

Funny negative reviews. No Im not their cousin nor affiliated, simply, they just have great pizza. I used to work nearby this place and let me tell you Im from New Jersey and had pizza from NY. This place is def comparable if not better. I only tried the ones they already baked and put out to reheat, never had ordered a pie. Still, these pizzas tasted great every time I went. How? No idea. Just try it.

Fantastic crust, delicious sauce, and a wide variety of toppings. This is a popular lunch spot, and I have also ordered pizzas to go for dinner time. The service will remind you of the character on Jerry Seinfelds show called the soup nazi, though theyre friendlier than Yev Kassem. Just dont try to place an order at the counter while youre talking on your cell phone. :-)

Bland and blank. The crust was thin but so not fresh. The sauce was ok but a different spice. Different not necessarily good. Pepperoni was scarce and sliced so thin it almost dissolved in the weird cheese. And it was expensive. $16 for a medium. How anyone would ever rate this a 5 is absurd. Must be all his cousins. Biggest dissappointment Ive had for pizza yet.

What else can I add to the already glowing reviews. All I can say is I worked near the pizza stop 10 years ago, and it was the best, then I worked elsewhere for 10 years. Now back around the corner, the flavor is the same, and again, THE BEST! Glad they are moving to a bigger place! Keep it up team. Mission is to try every slice they can possibly make!

Many think great New York think crust style pizza is hard to find in upstate New York, but not anymore, it is here. Pizza Stop is the absolute best place to go for a New York style slice of pizza. This place is the real deal, the pizza is very good, I have finally found the slice I was looking for. I would highly recommend them.

The Pizza Stop has some of the best pizza in Rochester, and theyve got tons of specialty flavors that are worth checking out. Just had their buffalo chicken and pepperoni yesterday and they were top notch. Garlic knots are a must-try if youve never had them before. Stop in for lunch and you can eat there too.

Everybody qualifies the quality of pizza in this place as being the best "in Rochester," but the truth is... its better than any pizza I have ever had in NYC. That may just be my limited experience, but given that the pizza places Ive tried in NYC come with the recommendation of the locals, I doubt it.

Best pizza in Rochester. There is a reason there are lines out the door for weekday lunches. Thin crust, great sauce, and cooked so there is a snap when you fold the slice. In a city with so much crappy bready pizza (marks, pontillos), this place reminds me of where I grew up (long island).

Ive eaten at pizza stop for occasionally for the last 12 years. Its consistently delicious thin-crust pizza. I especially love the sausage/hot pepper slice. Update:. New location work a comfortable dining room. Been eating Jims pizza since 1993 and still loving it!

We threw a co-worker a surprise baby shower on our lunch hour this afternoon, and it was great! We have Pizza Stop deliver a sheet pizza for all of us, and it was delicious. Everyone was telling us how good the pizza was. (So good -- and their slices are even better!)
