Eaten here several times. Sometimes its great, other times not. On a recent visit we ordered and shared two sandwiches. The Bahn Mi was delicious. The pork sausage (house made apparently) was moist, livery and deliciously seasoned. The sandwich was crisp, rich, and well balanced between sweet, earthy, salty and tangy. The spice (despite the addition of jalapenos) was fairly mild. In contrast, the flank steak and onion confit sandwich we also ordered was inexplicably bland. The "confit", which should have been unctuous and carmelized, was actually barely softened onions that were unfortunately the most prevalent ingredient in the sandwich. The meat was cut in big chunks, so that biting into a piece pulled the remaining hunk out, leaving nothing inside. The arugula was a bitter note, lacking any other flavor quality. The aioli was somehow flavorless, being almost impossible to discern. And finally the bread (which is Bread Alones signature) was soggy and yet somehow the only discernible flavor was "burnt". That two such wildly disparate sandwiches came out of the same kitchen at the same time was curious at least.

The staff behind the counter lack a basic understanding of hygiene. Scratching their head or tucking in their shirt while wearing sanitary gloves, and then touching your food with the same gloves is normal for them. The management obviously does not care about your health, and cannot be bothered to train and supervise the staff when it comes to maintaining safety and hygiene.

Good bread, coffee, pastries and sandwiches. Downside pricey and long line! Last time I went here on a Tuesday I got here at 4:30 waited on line for 15 minutes and when it was finally my turn the kitchen was closed already - it was only 4:15! So very disappointed... If youre a busy sandwich shop and close at 5, have the kitchen open until 5 please.

Baked goods are often stale; Calico sells freshly baked breakfast pastries that wipe the floor with what is offered here. Their bread is fine, no other local options make Bread Alone the only place to buy bakery bread. Coffee is on par with most cafes in town. Their breakfast and lunch selections are good, albeit expensive.

Really nice place to stop in for a quick bite in Rhinebeck. The space is larger than it looks from the outside. They have counter service for quick bites of tasty bread and a hot beverage. They also have sit down service for food! All in all, just walk in and smell the bread and then try to walk out without buying something.

Located in a nice charming little town of Rhinebeck. Service was very good. Out of the plates we ordered, one was over priced but the other was fair. Just depends on what you order. Place was comfortable and have seating inside and outside. In general was a good experience.

Excellent service and an enticing aesthetic in their dining area. Coffee was good although if youre used to the PNW perhaps youll feel a little differently. Only had the oatmeal but everything in the menu seemed deliciously palatable.

Nice coffee, pastry and lunch place by one of the best bread makers of Hudson Valley. Go here if you want a really good cup in Rhinebeck. And of course you can buy the best Sourdough bread here.
